    Animation Improvements in ArmA 3

I'd imagine reloading something like an RPG takes a little while too, or at least longer than it does to reload an M9.

    ArmA3 Wishlist and Ideas

Personally: Better animations. I know it's difficult, but I always felt that one of the reasons that games like COD are so popular is that the animations make it feel like you're right there looking through the guys eyes. Now, ARMA's gameplay certainly makes it feel like real warfare, but most of the animations make it painfully aware that you are indeed playing a simulation. Some examples: When you are healing someone, and they are just kind of laying there, spasmodic, and you just place your hands on their chest, then wave them around, and 15-20 seconds later they are back up. I would like for their to at least be some sort of medical equipment taken out and wrapped around the wound. Reloading. Some of the weapons look fine, like assault rifles, but weapon like the LMGs, and even RPGs not only have rather unrealistic reloads, but the speed at which you reload is also very fast. You can reload an RPG in the same amount of time that you can reload an M4. I also think the actual animations should be improved as well. If you are using a box-fed machine gun, spread the belt of bullets across the feeding chamber (not sure what to call this...) instead of just placing the box on the bottom and magically reloading. Death animations are also a little painful. However, with ragdolls, these should be fixed. Other than that, not really a problem for me. I do hope that they have an animation for changing weapon parts on the fly, but if not, it's not going to kill me.

    Cover system for Arma3?

Perhaps there could just be something really simple, like being able to hold a button down to control how high you "peek" when you are crouching. Double tap to "lock" the position or something. Doesn't have to be anything amazingly complicated. Don't want the gears of war style cover though. And no blindfiring. It's kind of dumb to have in a game where you rarely face anyone in close enough combat for blindfiring to be effective.

    Ability to roll

Hmm, I guess so. But I'm sure there would be a way to prevent any accidental rib breakage. Perhaps if you continued rolling? Put in enough barrel rolls there to expend the energy of the fall? Or maybe if you were carrying light enough gear? Mind you I'm not talking about chest high fences or anything, just knee to waist maybe. I've never been in full combat gear before though, so I wouldn't know.

    Ability to roll

Lol I know. I was being sarcastic. Especially since you can roll down stairs and such. If there ever is a roll added, I think it should be where if you are running to a fence or something about waist high, instead of slowly scissoring it, you "barrel roll" over it. Put your chest on the fence and "flop" over it, landing on your back, then rolling to the normal prone position.

    Ability to roll

I think a "gears of war" style roll would be completely fine and realistic, especially if you could do it anytime you wanted.
  7. I'd probably say the increased weapon simulation, and also revamp reload times and maybe even reload animations. It's a little odd how a pistol reloads as fast as a light machine gun.

    Next patch wish list

I don't really post here a lot, so apologies if I'm ignorant. Things I would like to see in a patch, if possible, are: Updates to reload speeds, and animations if possible. Right now, you can reload a SAW about as fast as you can the M9, and even the RPG, and it kind of kills the realism. Tone down the "swing gun around like a maniac while sprinting" animation. It looks pretty silly, to tell you the truth, to see a guy with a 20 pound rifle swinging it around like a very light sack of potatoes. The civilian "sprint with hands perfectly straight, fingers perfectly extended" is a little odd, but I can live with it." I would love for there to be more advanced graphics options, but not really super necessary. Right now, I play ARMA on a macbook 13" pro on a windows XP partition. Pretty bad, yeah. Anyways, sorry if this has been asked already.
  9. I think that the reload animations for snipers and machine guns should not take the same amount of time as the reload animations for assault rifles, etc. Also, the animations are the same for all of them, which I can live with, but it looks a little odd sometimes. I don't know about examples, I'm sure you all know what I am talking about. Suggestion: Decrease the speed of the animations

    Major suggestions

For the 50 cal one, if you look at the ground in front of the guy you can see the dirt fly up from where the bullet hit, so surely it wasn't a direct bounceback. It most likely ricocheted a couple of times before returning, I would find it very hard pressed that you shot a bullet at a flat surface and had it return directly down the path that it was shot.
