actually i dont pretty sure i dont i need to download one soon tho long story but atm i dont have antivirus software on my computer

i just bought arma 1 from steam and i keep getting the message file too short addons/character.pbo after a check box appers gets to the point with 2 more check boxs and stops

just baught and downloaded arma off steam and every time i try to run i get data file too short addons/characters.pbo ive looked around and alot of the ansers to the problem relate to people that have bought a hard copy atm im redownloading it ive tryed deleting the files but that didnt help could someone please give me a hand
