    Stupid AI Tricks

What i've also seen in the first mission is that while clearing out the area, my squadmates got down on the floor but didn't change there stance after the fight was over. They where just sticking to the floor in the open or in the middle of the street. They didn't even bother to get up to get into cover, scout the area or whatever. That's something i've allready seen in Arma 2. My guess is that although the AI has some improvments over Arma 2 Vanilla it still shares the old sickness in many parts. I really hope that the AI is one of the top priority stuff this time around and get's fixed.

Taking the scroll menu to the chopping block

That's also a great Idea. Would really make things more smoother.

Taking the scroll menu to the chopping block

Good points and there are actions that shouldn't need a keypress. If i walk up to a ladder the character should start climbing and not after a keypress. Also all actions have some sort of "delay" between the keypress and "doing it". Try opening a door while under fire. Not once i would think "hurry up and open that door". It feels clunky overall. A well made radial menu is also much worth. Also a context sensitive approach would give the game much more. This wouldn't make the game more like every other FPS or take away it's complexity but rather lessen the pain of having to press a button or go through some menu to do the most basic stuff. Arma was since the begining one of my favorite games but the overall feeling was always "slow, clunky and unintuitive" in most aspects.

    Warfare Mode?

I suppose so too that it would slow things down but i'm keeping my faith with Benny because i played his version in Arma 2 but that's long ago. I've seen some basic warfare mode map for Arma 3 made by Teetime so i suppose Benny will be able to pull this one off. At present we probably will only see some basic Warfare Modes because Arma 3 is in Alpha and there are not that many resources to build anything proper i suppose but that still would make my day. Atleast Benny is on it and that really is very good news and makes me happy allready.

    Warfare Mode?

Im just curious if the Warfare Mode will make a return in Arma 3. It was my favorite Mode and i liked to play it with Friends. If anyone knows something then please let me know.

    JUMP please!!

You want so see some video that shows a real life combat situation where someone is jumping? And you think that we run around with a camera and post vids on youtube or somwhere else just for fun? I don't think anyone is that much borred with life during combat to actually make some video for the guys back home who just want to see someone jump. Also this situation is rarely seen but happens. And i doubt we can use military material just for fun. Atleast not this stuff i'm talking about. But if it seems to be that easy for you then please release some "combat" footage from your military service on youtube. Your wish holds not much sense in it.

    JUMP please!!

That's true. That's why i also mentioned that a jump feature has to be modified by a couple of factors. Just to add a jump feature that let's you jump 3 meters like in most FPS is also not what i would like to see. I have to agree that it would be cool to climb through windows and over walls what would be really usefull. Same with the running vault. Those are vastly more needed than a pure jump feature.

    Take Downs.

If the opportunity for close combat arises then why not. Although such situations are rather rare for most infantry guys, they still happen. Leaving something out that could only occure 1/100 of the time is still like shooting yourself in the foot. A soldier has to be able to utizlize every bit of option to get the best result because even such a small thing like taking someone down silently can still mean the difference between life and death.

    JUMP please!!

Realism doesn't mean to ban something completly. Just because you don't utilize it 24/7 doesn't mean it's obsolete. Even if you only jump once in 10 years of service, then it is viable. Other's could have "jumped" more often in their time in the military. It also depends on your equipment and role if you will utilize it more or less. Also the situation is a big factor in the complete "jump" story. No one will start to jump with an M60 in his hands and full backpack but without those i don't see any problem. I had a situation where i had to drop my equipment and only hold on to my gun to gain agility and speed. That was a bloody life saver.

    JUMP please!!

seems like some "jump" resistant people in here. Jumping is a physical movement that humans learn in their childhood and thus it is a must have. If jumping hight is determined by weight and fatigue than it will have a realistic output. If i have nearly no equipment on me then give me just one reason why i shouldn't be able to jump to my maximum achievable jump hight? I don't know in what kind of military you guys have been but we utilize not only vaulting but every god given option we have to be successfull and that includes even jumping. If your type of realism is to stick to the ground then you should better stay at home. No offense but it's rediculous to say "no" to jump.
  12. First short rundown for me seems to run very good at max settings but i've heared from friends that Arma 3 even though it's Alpha has still some of the quirks that Arma 2 had from the beginning, that haven't been "fixed". I also heared that performance get's killed with smoke sources and the AI can still land headshoots at 1km in the night and day. I also tends to see you through bushes and other visual concealment. I still have to test it to see it for myself but i'm handing this info to the board so others can try it out too. I really hope that all those Arma 2 bugs and problems get finaly ironed out of Arma 3. I know this is an Alpha Version but shouldn't the Alpha allready have all those Arma 2 bugs ironed out?..or am i missing something? The controls are still a pain in the neck. They should be more intuitive. How about some proper Squad Control where you point at something and just press a button and your squad knows if it should attack it or get into cover or [insert situation here]. If i press the same button and target a wounded soldier, the next best squadmember who can heal should run there and heal him or something similar. And they should not do those stuff blindly. If i point at the roof of a building or some high place that is accecible and order guy "3" with a sniper there than he should be able to reach that spot, even if he has to run through a house and over some ladders and whatever to reach it. A good AI and proper squad controls are vital these days. The first Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter hat such good Squad controls. Why not make such in Arma 3. This would greatly boost the effective teamwork.

    Arma 3 Constructive Critiques

Good points OP. I fully agree

    DLC suggestion

Yeah just found out..was very much blind.theres an option in Operation Arrowhead in steam to start combined operations IF you have both installed in steam. That really did the trick :D That reduces my wishlist for DLC to just have a proper navy and additional countries :)

    DLC suggestion

I had arma 2 retail and now bought combined operation on steam where you have both arma 2 and operation arrowhead in your game list but unless i missed a point its just 2 games seperate.Either play one or the other but i'd like to have arma 2 units in OA because of the better engine.
