Hello everyone.. I recently wondered, what is a realistic loadout for a fireteam, regarding the scopes? When I set a fireteam in the editor, the leader has RCO, some have red dot, autorifleman has only ironsights. Is that a realistic loadout? Why not just give everyone a RCO for more flexibility and a higher combat range? My players always cry "give us the RCO, I can't even see the enemy". In my mission, I'm building, I just gave every unit the RCO, but is this realistic?

Thanks, so there is no reason letting my players run around with ironsights -

Making triggers activate only after task complete?
Zelgadis -92nd- replied to kdk11's topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
I suppose you have a trigger which sets the task to completed. You can then check in the second trigger conditions, whether the first trigger has fired. I make my Mission triggers in two steps, lets say the players have to reach a specific area to complete the task, and then the option to speak with the civilian gets available. I make a trigger zone, blufor present, on activation it sets a variable "z1 = 1;". I set another trigger, condition "z1 == 1;" which I sync with the set task state module, to complete the task. On this trigger in the activation, you can add the code to make the speak to civilian action available. Or you create another trigger with "z1 == 1;" Don't forget to initialise z1 on mission start (z1 = 0;) in the init field of some ai unit. Just to be safe. -
German voice actors needed

Oh yes, thanks :) -
For a mission I'm working on, I need 3 more voice actors. Two of them will have only one short sentence, one will provide the voice over for the player unit. Prerequisites: - German language - Good recording quality, this will be no radio call - No or nearly no background noise - WAV files (mono is sufficient) Situation: Players will have to patrol a checkpoint route and get sitreps from the various checkpoints. Nothing happendes for a long time, so duty is boring and routine, until this day... Voice acting is needed for the various sitreps and the player's answers Mission overview: This will be my second attempt in adding voice acting in a mission, so I can only provide you this teaser for a DCS: World mission I made before as a demo.

AddAction multiplayer for allplayers
Zelgadis -92nd- replied to unidad2pete's topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
The script is "srch = 1;" Maybe I don't fully understand the concept where this variable exists and where the script has to be run in multiplayer. When I just add a trigger zone which sets srch = 1 I can walk into the zone as a client and the tigger gets fired. Why doesn't it work, when the variable is set via the addaction? -
AddAction multiplayer for allplayers
Zelgadis -92nd- replied to unidad2pete's topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Ah..so obvious.. :D will try that when at home.. ---------- Post added at 04:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:19 PM ---------- Doesn't get me a script error now, but anyhow doesn't work. Now in multiplayer (tested with 2 players) the heli had 2 actions on it both called "Search Heli", and still the client player was not able to activate it... Any suggestions? -

Damn, two days late that I saw this thread, I removed all affected entries from the sqm and then deleted all the invisible remains in the editor that give you an error, when mousehovering over them... -
AddAction multiplayer for allplayers

So when I add the line [[heli1,"Search Helicopter","srch = 1;"],"Fock_addactionMP",nil,false] spawn BIS_fnc_MP; to my trigger that has to add the action to the heli, I get an error "Type Script, expected nothing" when I hit OK -
AddAction multiplayer for allplayers
Zelgadis -92nd- replied to unidad2pete's topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Hi. I don't fully understand the code above. Here is my scenario. I have a crashed helicopter ("heli1"). On the crash I added an action to the heli via a trigger ("actionid1 = heli1 addaction ["Search Helicopter", "srch = 1;"];"). Then I have another trigger which fires on "srch == 1". When any client other than the host uses the action nothing happens. When the server host uses the action, the trigger fires. If I got you right, I have to use: [[heli1,"Search Helicopter","srch = 1;"],"Fock_addactionMP",nil,false] spawn BIS_fnc_MP; on the trigger which recognizes the heli crash (where "actionid1 = heli1 addaction ["Search Helicopter", "srch = 1;"];" was before). Correct? But where do I paste the function "Fock_addactionMP" itself? -
Using the "forceSpeed" command on helicopters
Zelgadis -92nd- replied to This kid's topic in ARMA 2 & OA : MISSIONS - Editing & Scripting
Why do you use _this select 0 instead of _this (or even this)? Isn't _this already the object needed for limitSpeed? -
forceSpeed vs limitSpeed
Zelgadis -92nd- replied to CarlGustaffa's topic in ARMA 2 & OA : MISSIONS - Editing & Scripting
The biki says something about running it in a loop, that should work. From the biki description the only difference i that limitSpeed works with km/h and forceSpeed works with m/s -

I could offer german and english. PM me, if you want me to speak some things. -
Sidewinders are IR seeking Air-to-Air Missiles. Don't even know why they are on the Apache, cause afaik Apaches don't carry them at all. For A/A they carry their Stingers. In my opinion a A/A Setup of the Apache doesn't make sense..
-
When so many people want it, it should not be on the bottom of any prio list. Additionally, it doesn't make sense that Opfor gets a fancy, cool feature, and the Blufor (which I think most people play) don't. And it would be great for online squads, not just a "nice thing to have".

Great. Maybe the logo on my shoulder keeps my comrades from shooting me.. "There, something moved *BAAM*" -> Zelgadis was killed by friendly fire ;)
