  1. Spike, I have neatly typed all the keystrokes out on 2 sheets of A4 paper. Better than that, yesterday I got a gaming keyboard! Space Go Prone Space Danger Space Face North A total of 8 keystrokes...... Have now been repaced by one macro recorded keystroke: G11 :)
  2. That's odd. In the campaign I have see red icons moving. That is a target that I have been given to fire on. -

    Ordering your AI to walk?

Only last night I found the answer to this. Press Ctrl twice. Have the man move forward at the slowest speed. He has now lowered his weapon so he is walking. -
  4. I ordered my squad to go prone. I too went prone. After a while I stood up. I ordered “7,9 Copy My Stance†They stood up I ordered Team Red and Team Blue to move forward a little. I looked to the rear, spotted some enemy and went prone. My squad did not go prone. What happened to Copy My Stance ??? -
  5. I think the answer is "Yes"! -

    Mission realism question.

    I prefer 30 - 60 minute missions. -
  7. I presumed that was the answer. But I got the maps to work twice and failed 40 times. That I got the maps to work once each must be a bug ! I will get BAF and PMC very soon. -

    Advice for a new player?

Also, after playing in the Armoury for a while, read the manual for the second time. There are some tips there that are not obvious on the first reading. After you have had the game for 2 months read the manual for the third time! -

    Advice for a new player?

    What is "CTI" ? -
  10. A wargame will have minimal data so I always buy via a download. This type of game has a lot of data so I always buy the disk. -
  11. The purpose is so that when my computer dies I can install the game(s) again. -
  12. It is Private Military Company and the BAF both together on one disk.-
  13. Last night my 5 man squad attacked a 3 man enemy position. I had team blue move to the left and start firing. Myself and team red moved into a small gully. The plan was to throw grenades and then assault. I quickly switched places with a member of team blue which meant I could direct their fire better. I was pleased the new leader did not take over. I quickly switched back to the leader and completed the mission. Team blue did a good job attracting the enemy attention but one was killed. One member of team red was wounded when his grenade bounced off a tree and back in his direction! -

    Advice for a new player?

To the newby: Start with Boot Camp. Don’t do everything. Just do; Soldier’s movement / stance Shooting Driving Commanding a vehicle Then open the Armoury. Over a few weeks use; almost every weapon almost every vehicle and play through all the missions that you are given. If some game action does not seem to work, go back and practise in Boot Camp. Also, in the Armoury, play with almost every individual character. You cannot always tell which weapon the character will have before selecting it. Note the rabbit character does not have a weapon or a map. :) After wards go to “My Missionsâ€. There are 2 types. Play the type where you can select the troops. Begin with a 2 man squad. That’s you and your number 2. Attack a one-man enemy position. Get used to giving orders to your number 2. Then create a 3 man squad and give orders to both of your men. Attack a 1 or 2 man enemy position. Then create a 5 man squad. Set 2 and 3 as team red and 4 and 5 as team blue. Attack a 2 or 3 man enemy position. Practise giving orders to team red and team blue instead of to individual soldiers. Write out all the different orders by hand to make it easier. And that’s where I am up to! It is in the top 2 most enjoyable wargames I have ever had! -

Engaging from more than 500m plus ?

PoorOldSpike, in the test above, you tested whether OpForce could spot BlueForce troops at certain distances. How about you turn it around and see if BlueForce can spot OpForce troops at those same distances. -

Mission impossible - Set your own...

I too do that. Some rocks are shaped a bit like an arc thereby protecting the left and right. One time I threw grenades over the rock in the direction of enemy footsteps and voices and got them all ! -
  17. Select any soldier. For example select soldier number 2. In the menu you will see "Switch to soldier number 2". If you want to switch back to being the leader hit Spacebar and one of the menu items is "Switch to leader". - ---------- Post added at 09:34 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:32 AM ---------- Also, before commmencing the mission, in the set up screen is the option to Edit. Select this, and it takes you to the map. You can now move the icons: Entry, Enemy Outpost and Exit. -

Mission impossible - Set your own...

I too have played through the Armoury. I too only succeed in about 1 in 3. The "escape and evade" missions are a lot of fun! -
  19. I want some men of my squad to stay put and one man to stick with me. I don’t want to give that man separate orders to move or fire. Is there an order “You! Stick with me!†? -
  20. In the FAQ what is missing is "How to Start Creating a Mission" You take mouse in hand. You open editor And then......... -
  21. For those testing the next patch for Operation Arrowhead, could you please check to see that "My Missions" works OK?. See if you can create "My Missions" for the Proving Ground map and the Shapur map. -
  22. If I send a scout forward, say 50 meters, does he have a higher chance of spotting enemy, compared to say, a rifleman, sent forward 50 meters? Currently, I use myself as a scout and the get hit! -
  23. As a boy, I wondered how a soldier under fire could have the courage to stick his head up and return fire. So, from the above, I wonder if the experienced combat soldier knows it’s somewhat difficult to get hit and so sticks his head up long enough to get off aimed shots. -
