  1. If I understood this right, the "dome" is a separate object and you want to merge it with the flat surface? If that's the case and you are using 3ds max, how I normally do it is create a circle of edges on the flat surface by using snap to verts and basically tracing the circle, then delete the center poly, attach the dome to the flat surface object, select all the verts and hit weld. Just the way I tend to do it, probably not the easiest as I'm sure there are many different ways, but it gives the cleanest results out of everything I have tried and is really quick. Model is looking great by the way.

Wow looking really nice, can't wait to see these in action.
  3. All modeling is done. Just need to cleanup a few things and fix a couple smoothing errors, unwrap it, and bake the normals.
  4. Basically done with the majority of it, mount is done, base plate is done, just need to add the screws, split the right side like it is in the refs, and do the smoothing. Then it is on to the uv and texture, should have it good to go by the end of the weekend. Then it is on to something else so if anyone has an optic or weapon/equipment accessory they would like I'm open to suggestions. Just test fitting it on an unfinished pdw since it is the only model I have with side rails. It obviously isn't completely accurate, but it'll do.
  5. Not really a request just more of an idea. Would it be possible to create ammo pouches as a backpack so it would limit what you carry by what pouches you equip and would place said pouches on your character's vest? You can attach backpacks so I assume there must be a way to do it, probably not practical, but it seems plausible. I'm not really sure how Arma 2 achieves backpack placement since I am new to this engine, does it use sockets or bones as the attachment point or is it something far more complex? Guess I will tinker around a a bit and check out some characters to see how the backpacks work. I haven't really taken a close look at the pouches vs loadout in game so let me know if this is something that already happens.
  6. Just about done, still need to cleanup the geometry/smoothing and finish up the mount and base plate. Probably going to add all the screws to bake the normals too.
  7. Is there no clever way to trick it to change the lens texture say when you zero the sight? It would be a real shame if it had to have a static reticule, but I guess it is better than nothing. I'm going to upload it later when I finish it up and texture it so people can do what they want with it.
  8. Thought I would model the Eotech GL site from Here If anyone wants it when it is done give a shout because I have no experience putting anything into the game. EDIT: working on the internals slowly but surely and still need to do the right side, just a symmetry mirror right now. This deceivingly simple object is becoming a burden. Quick question, is it possible to have a scrolling reticule in Arma 2?
  9. The tracers are looking excellent.
  10. I really liked Jedo's format so I thought I would use the same. Name: Corey Age: 22 Location: California (GMT-8) Microphone & teamspeak: yes Languages: English, I can also comprehend some Spanish and French, but don't ask me to attempt to formulate a sentence. Ready to pay for a server?: I would be willing to pitch in down the road if things work out. Games: Arma2, Arma2 OA (CO) and BAF dlc User codename: Dregan ACE: Yes Roles preferred: Automatic Rifleman or Designated Marksmen, along with your standard Rifleman or Grenadier. Time spent with Arma2 and skill/experience: I have been playing Arma 2 on and off for quite sometime. I just recently returned after more than a year away so I am starting fresh. I am getting my barrings back, but I am not back to being a skilled player just yet. I am looking for a realism unit that isn't too formal. I really don't like having to say sir over and over, but I do enjoy a realistic atmosphere when it comes to communication. I want to find a unit that actually works together as if they are a real fire-team. I am tired of joining servers and seeing everyone doing their own thing and being spread out everywhere. I am more into the infantry side of things and sustained firefights. Compound to Compound fighting against the militia in Takistan is one of my favorite things to do in this game and I would love to find a unit that enjoys doing so. I am not fond of the original Arma 2 setting and I much rather prefer Operation Arrowhead. I also create missions so expect some exclusive missions catered to whatever unit I may land in. Feel free to pm me any questions you may have.
  11. I'm encountering the same thing. I take it that ace is supposed to kick up dust from the overpressure? If so I would love to get this working as well.
  12. Very impressive..... Could it be used to display images, text or more intricate icons? or does it only allow for wireframe-like vector primitives and lines?
  13. Ah, I saw that awhile ago but wasn't sure if it was the KAC PDW or not since it lacked screens, but I probably should have just downloaded it and tried it out. Oh well, I'll still work on my own. Fixed that second image, sorry about that. A simple skylight and having the background set to white under the environment settings. I think I changed a few other settings to show shadows, but I haven't touched them in a long long time so I don't really remember. I saw this awhile ago Link, haven't tried it, but looks like it provides great results.
  14. KAC PDW Super early so there will be lots of geometry and smoothing errors.(basically no smoothing assigned to begin with). I just roughed out the major geometry, still have lots of bits and bobs to do before I get to cleaning it up. Lots of stuff seems to be washed out by the render and I am not really in the mood to change the settings until its done, I would rather continue modeling. I love this gun, not sure if one exists in Arma 2, but I thought I would bang one out for fun none the less. Feel free to point out any glaring inaccuracies that I should fix, but keep in mind tons of stuff is still missing.
