Canadian Armed Forces Modification ARMA III
stupidwhitekid75 replied to ohally's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
M72A6 looks great. The sounds are a little weird to me though, the 'reload' sound when prepping the weapon seems unnaturally loud (esp. for being in 3rd person). -

Are there any other hidden models in there as well? We've found new heli's and now an entire faction of infantry...curious as to what else could be hidden in there -
Coyote Brown I think is the color you were looking for :) but yeah a 'tannish' kind of color as opposed to green would give them a very FR look...

Really great work so far guys, I cannot believe how quickly your work has progressed so far. Down the road do you plan on including vehicles? -
my addons (Vilas) upcoming to Arma3
stupidwhitekid75 replied to vilas's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Keep your opinions to yourself and piss off. I can't help but wonder why so many people use and enjoy vilas work if it is so bad like you claim. His Polish Army mod is probably one of my favorite armies to use in A2, and without his work a lot of other addon makers would be struggling to get various units, weapons and vehicles in game for their projects. Ignore him vilas, keep up the great work! :) -

Camo vests would be nice, I look forward to seeing pictures. I was unaware that soldiers bought their own vests, interesting. From recent photographs I've seen they all seem to be sporting the same styled vest, must be the tac vest you were referring to. -

Iraq 2003 Invasion. An Episodic Mod - ARMA 3
stupidwhitekid75 replied to coldestvisionz's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Try contacting the Lost Brothers team. They did not do any 2000+ conflicts in Iraq but they did do a lot of work creating a mod based off of the First Gulf War, modeling Iraqi, Saudi, US and Qatari militaries. Maybe you guys could work together. -

For the woodland CADPAT units, I believe the boots should be all black. Sources: http://i.imgur.com/Zheth.jpg http://i.imgur.com/snuBQ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/jhA2Z.jpg http://i.imgur.com/0oy7o.jpg http://i.imgur.com/1Aof3.jpg Are you modeling the new rigs? -

3 - Modern Polish Army. It was one of my favorite mods to play around with in A2. Lots of units, lots of vehicles. I would love to see that sooner rather than later. My next choice would be 8 - vehicles, since we won't (probably) be seeing many BMP's, BRDM's, etc. with the direction A3 is going. -
The only thing that really bugs me about the OPFOR is their helmets. They have all this additional stuff on it, screens that sit in front of the eyes, etc. I just wish they actually had some functionality. I wouldn't mind them much at all if they worked somehow. Without working why even bother adding them, except for the "coolness" factor maybe? I dunno I think they're ugly looking.

Voice Acting has got to go.
stupidwhitekid75 replied to oo para oo's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
The primary voice used does tend to sound a little weird to me. It is very macho, much preferred the way it sounded in A2. However actual statements that AI make sound much more natural than they did in A2 which I like a lot. It is very smooth. I'm not particularly crazy about "wilco" being used either, it just sounds really weird hearing it. I liked "Oscar mike" and "copy" a lot more haha. Not a major deal though, I will get used to it I guess. -
Will there be a crash/emergency landing feature?
stupidwhitekid75 replied to Alistair's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I would be cool with an animated wreck, as long as is just happened and the aftermath could be visualized. -
Will there be a crash/emergency landing feature?
stupidwhitekid75 replied to Alistair's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I really hope this feature is either implemented or at least could be possibly made down the road. I think it would be great to have and would add to the realism big time. It would also keep me from raging everytime a helo goes down and the tail accidently touches the ground, resulting in it blowing up. I also hope it means that if a jet hits a tree or something it doesn't instantly stop and explode right there. It would be cool if it would at least knock the tree over and throw the jet or something. -
Invasion 1944 v2.6 (CO)
stupidwhitekid75 replied to SFG's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
New video I made a few weeks ago that I just got around to writing an AAR for. Massive, scattered para drop in the beginning. Hope you guys enjoy it. -
I guess my biggest question is sort of a weird one...does anyone know if its possible to run ArmA games in windowed mode, and change the size of said window, through Steam? I have tried with several games including Iron Front Liberation with little to no luck in being able to do so. Either windowed mode is unsupported or Steam pre-defines a size for the window and typically it is way too small to be very usable, plus it is locked at a corner of the screen and you can't move it around. Window mode is really nice for ArmA games because you can very easily have editing information from the net side by side with the window (much more useful than alt-tabbing imo), not only that but I've noticed decent performance gains giving me the chance of setting higher level graphics when running the game in windowed mode. I am really not the happiest about the choice to use Steam...I think I read in the blog that without it ArmA 3 would not be able to be released this year and I can't help but wanting to say that I WOULD BE OKAY WITH THAT! I would rather have everything working just the way I'd like than make questionable choices to speed up the release. I guess that as long as windowed mode is supported in the same way it has been with ArmA 1 and 2+OA then I will live and probably get used to it.

Could you show a comparison between that and the camo that you have the troops using in the last picture? I really like the looks of the one you were already using. -

The Gazelle for recon/light attack and Lynx for transport/attack would be cool to see and would be fitting for the timeline. -
HETMAN - Artificial Commander
stupidwhitekid75 replied to Rydygier's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Rydygier I just wanted to drop in and say thanks for all the hard work you've done on this. This is probably my favorite and most useful download out of every other available for the ArmA series. I have not been having much of a good week here, both in real life and trying to play ArmA. Tonight though I setup a quick mission using HETMAN and ended up spending a few hours playing and enjoying myself. It defiantly put me in a much better mood and gave me a better end to my day. Thanks once again for all your hard work. It is very much appreciated :) -
I'll get back to you with it within the next day or so when I get a chance to test it out. Thanks for looking into it man :)

The Artillery FO Module is simply a module that allows the AI to use artillery pieces on their own. You sync the module with with the artillery gun and an AI unit. The AI unit acts as a spotter, and when he sees an enemy he calls in a strike. I was just asking if you could include or make a module like that to use with your artillery pieces. For example, the Invasion 1944 mod make one for their artillery pieces to use in game. It just makes missions more interesting, that's all. No big deal if you can't/don't want to.
-
Sea King would indeed be nice to see, too bad. wld427, do you think that you could include a forward observer type module to work with your artillery pieces? I tested Blake's AI FO module out with some of your artillery pieces and some of them worked, others did not.

Nogovan Armed Forces Project
stupidwhitekid75 replied to R0adki11's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Let me know if they work for you. I have JSRS 1.5 installed but I am still hearing regular BI sounds using your units. Might just be something wrong on my end though. -

Great work. The Highland Rangers are my favorite especially. Love the mismatched helmets, very interesting way to set them up. I noticed a lot of the guns are using stock BI sounds, is it possible to work them so that they can be used with sound mods? Not a big deal either way, just curious. Keep up the great work man! :) -
