  1. Lingor is an absolutely beautiful island. But I'm getting the following error(s). Cannot open object ibr\lingor_objects\brg_bush1.p3d No entry 'bin\Config.bin/CfgModels.default'. I believe this 2nd error is coming from the Predators cause when I removed them it went away, but the first error remained. Also, where is the MiG-21 and Lingor units? I couldn't locate them in the editor or armory. :confused:
  2. These Crown Vics are pretty kewl. Killerc22 should definitely make some CHiPs motorcycles and units to go with it for Chernarus Life. Instead of California Highway Patrol, they could be Chernarus Highway Patrol. Kawasaki KZ 1000 Police

You know, rather than running like a gazelle it would probably look a lot smoother if it moved like a Tachikoma from Ghost in the Shell:SAC. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qqz8B-Z6ijM Instead of trying to run at high speeds they roll around on multidirectional footpads. Also jumping would be useful. If I remember correctly there were some mecha addons in OFP that could use jump boosters to move short distances, cross rivers, jump on top of buildings and to cushion their landings. Could be a useful feature. This addon could also use a digital HUD and 2ndary weapon. Instead of 2 miniguns, maybe replace the right one with a railgun, grenade launcher or 120mm cannon. Also, the smoke & muzzleflash from each weapon needs to be aligned with it's origin. Instead of all shots appearing to come from the top-centerline of the vehicle.

    ArmA II Stargate Mod

    My cousin is a total "fan"natic when it comes to Stargate, so he wanted me to download this mod. But I don't know anyone willing to navigate through 20+ forum pages trying to download all the individual units and weapons and ships and maps. Is there some place you can just download everything in one big @SGMOD folder?
  5. Ok, I do have one totally serious request to make. One I don't think would be too difficult and doesn't even require 3d modeling or textures. I wanna replace my green crosshairs in the middle of my screen with something different depending on what weapon I have equipped. I know a lot of ppl don't even have those turned on because they use the weapons' optics, but I do on occasion (frequently in CQB) use the on screen crosshairs. I'm not talking about scopes and reticles. I use 31st MEU Replacement Reticles Pack for that. I'm talking about the on screen HUD crosshairs. For sniper rifles can you make a simple bright red dot at the point of aim. You know…it usually looks something like this ).( and the outer parts expand as you get wounded or fatigued. Can you just take away the outer parts and make the center dot slightly bigger and bright red like a laser dot? Or make the outer parts thin black lines and the inner dot slightly bigger and bright red? For machine guns can you replace the ).( with a big circle that expands like the grenades and put it in the middle of the point of aim. So I can just try to keep the enemy within the expanding circle. For the under barrel grenade launchers replace the big green ] [ HUD with the big green expanding circle and some thin black echelons below to indicate range. Or like how the HUD for the old Operation Flashpoint MM-1 grenade launcher used to be. Also, can you shift them down slightly. I've noticed that in CQB when I "fire from the hip" without shouldering my weapon the HUD crosshairs aren't properly aligned.

Someone update the Star Wars stuff for ArmA2. :D So many kewl addons…must have…them…all! *drool* I would absolutely kill for someone to update the Aliens for ArmA2 as well, they would go great with the Predator Mod.     [SP/COOP2] Operation Cold Bore

    I turned off all other mods except the ones listed and still the target dies right at the very beginning. Maybe something changed in one of the patches or something. I wish I could get this one working, I really love sniper and spec ops missions. Intelligence, stealth and cunning should always win out over an impatient enemy who's only real skill is youthful reflexes.

    [SP/COOP2] Operation Cold Bore

    I'm having a problem with the objectives for this mission. Right at the very beginning of the mission the target somehow dies and all I'm left with is the extraction. I have: ArmA2 CO/BAF DLC all with most recent official patches ACE2 ACEX CBA Namalsk all with their most recent releases. What is causing Col. Kurtz to die at the start? Is anyone else having this issue with all the most recent official patches and addons?
  9. HAHA! Well, I wasn't wanting to accuse anyone of that. It's just I see some of these addons that are considered a WIP and some of them are just incredible and I practically start to drool. I just wanna download them but they're not done yet for whatever reason. I check the date and some of these things are WIP for like half a year or more since the last update was released. Just from looking at the YouTube videos the addon looks flawless, but the author has decided it's not ready for release yet. So we just have to wait till they feel it's time to unleash their baby on the world. I just wanted to let the addon makers know we appreciate all their hard work and if we gotta wait a bit longer for the "final release" of an addon that's fine. It's just weird to see some beautiful WIP drop off the face of the Earth all together. That makes me a saaad panda. :rolleyes:
  10. That was actually what I was wanting to know. What happens to all those disused/incomplete addons? I'm sure there's a lot of nice stuff just sitting on ppl's hard drives waiting to get put to good use. :D
  11. I just got a few quick questions for the addon maker community. I see a lot of videos on YouTube of WIP addons…some videos are more than a year old. But I haven't found any info on a release or download. What happens to those addons? Did the addon maker abandon the project or feel it wasn't up to the high standards of the community and start over? Or did they decide to keep it to themselves for more testing before releasing it? I believe there's a helluva lot of addons out there that never made it to the downloads of Armaholic, ArmedAssault.Info or even here in the forums. To all the great addon makers out there we really appreciate all you've done for us the gamers. The ability to create new addons and missions and constantly expand the ArmA universe is what makes this game so great. Without you this wouldn't be possible. So keep up the great work and we hope to see all those wonderful addons for download soon.
  12. AWESOME!! Hopefully the community can come up with some scripts to put the predator…er…I mean "stalker's" taunt/roar into the action menu. Imagine being out on patrol, through the humid jungles of Lingor looking for a guerrilla encampment. Hearing sporadic gunfire in the distance. Followed by that sound…then men screaming. After that silence. Nothing but the sound of your own heart beating and the surrounding jungle seemingly closing in on you. Gawd, I can't wait! I can has Lingors nao plox? :D

    I agree, the Sahrani Civilians would fit in great there. I'm gonna go redownload them today. Maybe someone should make a peruvian flute band addon to stand around and play the island's intro music. Peruvian flute bands are everywhere after all. Why not in ArmA2 worlds? @Prowler: I really love that music. What song is that and where did you get it? Maybe a sunken spanish galleon or early 1700s pirate ship in the bay.

    This is an absolutely beautiful island! I would do almost anything to live in a place like this. I especially love the peruvian flute band music on the intro screne reguardless of what other ppl think of the music. (beware of guinea pigs) I also loved the ambient sounds in the jungle, really makes you feel like you're there. The reef area is teriffic to look at from the sky, but I could totally see some of CSJ's sharks swimming out there ready to munch on some hungry tourist that swam out too far. Not much of a military presence there and with it being a tourist destination (the hotels along the beachfront) this makes it an ideal setting for a terrorist-type mission. Maybe have them go in and kidnap some visiting dignitaries. SWaT has to come in and deal with the situation and stop the tangos from reaching their plane waiting at the airport. Anyway, great looking island. We need some great missions to go with it.
  16. I agree, compared to Operation Flashpoint and even ArmA1 there aren't enough sci-fi addons or at least future weapons and technology. I know this is a military sim, but who says it always has to be present day or past technology in use. Let's get some futuristic addons going. Maybe go watch some animé for inspiration or movies like the one listed above. While I'm here, I do have 2 specific addon requests. 1. Dr. Who (Tom Baker) civilian/independant and a TARDIS complete with sounds. Maybe something in the action menu that will play the Dr. Who theme song…kind of like how the Airwolf Supercopter plays it's theme. Maybe a Dalek for him to fight. "Exterminate! Exterminate!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3iBUL0nRm8 Oh come on! Who here doesn't like the classic Dr. Who?! 2. If someone can get a hold of Ghost and see about updating his Vf-1s Valkyrie so it's Gerwalk/Fighter transformation works in ArmA 2. It keeps wanting to change into Gerwalk mode once you get up off the ground and won't change back into fighter mode. That addon looks totally schweetz in this video. It deserves a 2nd life in ArmA 2.
  17. I've been looking forward to this for a long time. All your other maps are excellent. Can't hardly wait to see how great Lingor turns out. The screenshots look great so far. I did have a couple questions about the ambiance. Will it have jungle sounds built into the map? Like when you get near the river or coastline will you hear the running water and waves. Will there be tree frogs at night and cawing birds and strange animal noises in the jungle? Sounds as well as sight give maps a really great feel. Lots of time I tab out and run some ambient nature sounds so I can feel like I'm actually there in the forests or deserts. Agh! I wanna play it now! *begs for a release date* I'll keep checking the forums and Armaholic. :D

  19. Awesome! I'm gonna d/l that one right away. Mech addons are schweetz! Now if I can just find some way to get the Vf-1s to switch back and forth from Gerwalk to Fighter… =P At this point I'd almost be willing to pay someone to update the Vf-1s transformation to work properly in ArmA 2. That addon looks so kewl flying around in this video. Anyone hear anything from Ghost about updating this for ArmA 2?

    looking for sp mission

    I've been looking for some good SP missions too. Checked out most of what Armaholic has already. Looking for some good two-man sniper team missions. Maybe some HALO insertions or trekking through enemy held territory with your spotter. Avoiding enemy patrols and counter-snipers. Do the low crawl to your firing position and take out the enemy officer. Then beat a hasty retreat cross country for exfil. Maybe a sniper's campaign with a wide variety of missions. Providing sniper support for an upcoming offensive. Going out on patrols with your squad. Gathering intel on high value targets or calling in air strikes. Counter-sniping or sniper hunt. Disrupt an enemy convoy with your trusty M107…and of course the infamous one-shot-one-kill assassination of a high ranking enemy officer. Maybe a bullet-cam for those long shots so you can watch the shot in slow-mo. Anything sniper related would be kewl. Anyone got any suggestions or working on missions/campaigns of this type?
  21. I'm still looking for a BE or Oden Warfare on Namalsk using KuiK's Winter Camo Pack. Namalsk is a great looking island and deserves more missions & campaigns.
  22. Nice! Is anyone working on Nogova or Malden for 2010/11? Has this island been scaled up? It seems a bit larger than it did in Operation Flashpoint and still larger than the one in the A.C.E. Island Pack for ArmA 1.

I know ArmA 2 isn't really a sci-fi game and there aren't many truly fictional addons out there (not like there were in OFP/ArmA1), but I'd love to see World of Warcraft make an appearance in ArmA 2. Maybe a Fel Reaver addon, complete with menacing mechanical screech. That sound still makes me shudder. Nightmares of them sneaking up on my my first day on Hellfire Peninsula not long after the Dark Portal first opened. (how did a 5 story robot sneak up on me?) Tearing around Chernarus or Takistan on my Mechano-Hog would be kewl. I wonder how hard it'd be to transfer the world of Azeroth into ArmA… Anyone got the topographical data?
  24. I was able to get the A.C.E. Island Pack from ArmA 1 to work with ArmA 2. It didn't really look all that great…not up to ArmA 2 quality standards by any means. But it does give you a lot of kewl islands to play around on. On another note. Does anyone know how to get the Gst Vf-1s Valkyrie to stay in fighter mode in ArmA 2? Or at least switch back to fighter mode? Once I get up off the ground it always wants to switch into Gerwalk mode and stay that way. It just won't switch back no matter what I try. It's a really kewl addon and I love the cockpit, but I just can't seem to get that function to work. I'm a big fan of sci-fi addons and always loved the Wanzers (walking battle tanks) in OFP.
