We really ought to get some for our civilians to ride around on. If I'm not mistaken the BOH mod for OFP had a Super Cub scooter with it.
  3. Can someone port the A.C.E. Islands Pack http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=3000 from ArmA1 to ArmA2. The ACE Islands Pack will work with ArmA2, but it looks pretty shitty and it gets a few errors. Honestly, the island in that pack I am most interested in having ported is the OFP Worlds map. it has all the old islands from OFP in one huge map. The PMC AEC Island has 3/5 of the OFP Islands on it and would be nice to have ported as well. http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=1425 WGL Gaia Island was really good back in the day too.

Islands Pack http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=3000 The ACE Islands Pack works in ArmA2, but looks pretty crappy and gets a few errors. But the OFP Worlds map is what I'm most interested in. It has all of the old OFP islands on 1 huge map. It would make it easier to convert old OFP missions into ArmA 2 if you can get it looking good.     User mission requests!

    I'm all for some good BlackOps infiltration and demolition missions. As well as any long sniper missions. One thing I would definitely like to see are more OFP missions converted for ArmA2. Dead by Dawn and Suicidal Samurai by Toadlife were some of my old favs. http://ofp.toadlife.net/downloads/missions/ It could be difficult to convert missions that took place on Malden, since it hasn't been brought over yet. SAP Everon can be used for anything that took place on the old Everon. OFP Worlds from the ArmA1 A.C.E. Islands Pack has all of the OFP islands on 1 big map and it works in ArmA2. Good OFP Missions: A Special Mission By the Ocean Deadly Shadows Operation Black Thorn Operation Firelord Operation Firestorm Operation Thunderstorm Spetz Natz Special Training Day Honestly, I'd like to see anything by Teifiterror, Toadlife or QAD. There's like dozens of old OFP missions that could be given new life in ArmA2.

No offense, but so many addons I see are all the same stuff…like a zillion different variations and reskins of the same current era military vehicles and units. It's great to see these futuristic addons for a change! I especially love the japanese voice in the cockpit (can't tell what she was saying) but it's awesome! Great work! Are you doing a whole FMP mod? Doing anything after FMP, like Neon Genesis Evangelion or Gundam? Seriously bro these addons look insanely kewl!
  8. Addon requests is srs bzn. :D I seriously wanna see a Twisted Metal mod with all the old vehicles and weapons and shitz. Maybe make a Twisted Metal World with some of the old stages for you to play in. I just loved playing in Cyburbia. Maybe include some vehicle DM missions. Icebreakr's Jade Groove would be excellent for that kind of mission. On a related note, maybe a Jet Moto mod with the old vehicles and some race missions. Jade Groove would be a great place for that. It may be difficult to make something that can haul ass over any terrain like that though. I just noticed there are almost no motorcycle-type addons… I know ArmA 2 ain't really the best driving simulator, but I'd still love to see all this happen. So far the best vehicles I've seen are the MFP/Raiders. They're super fast and the are the only vehicle I've seen able to drift around corners properly.     Island Jade Groove

    Putting weapons on the Sigma cars would be kewl. Maybe we could make some "Twisted Metal" DM missions. Oh! Dayum!! Someone seriously needs to make a Twisted Metal Mod for use on Jade Groove!
  10. Great tool. Great for going back and having fun with those old SP you haven't played in ages. Also, great for stress relief. Spawn some stuff, blow it up. I got two questions though. 1. Is there a readme or wiki that explains all the features? 2. I don't have a wide screen monitor, is there an option to make this thing narrower?
  11. I think it's because most of the first person shooters that come out lately are nothing more than fast paced eye candy. Designed for a younger audience with shorter attention spans. Call of Duty falls into that category in my opinion. I know my 7yo nephew just can't get enough of blowing away everything in sight whether it be friend or foe. ArmA 2 is a more strategic game and requires more patience than most young people have these days. So i guess what he's getting at is the young people that play Call of Duty type games have no patience and want everything delivered now. I know that's a stereo type though, cause there are plenty of adults that have fallen prey to the shiny new games on Xbox and PS3. It's very sad that these games only required skill is god-like reflexes. Intellect, stealth and cunning should always win out over the impatience of youth. As for the original reason for all these posts, an addon takes time to create and a good addon takes even longer. I would rather wait an extra month and get a high quality addon than hurry the author along and have something come out that is full of bugs. Generally speaking most addons are made and provided free of charge. So we should be thankful they take the time to create all of these wonderful islands, vehicles, units and weapons to play with. Thanks you to all the addon makers out there that take the time to create something worth downloading. :D

Not all addons have to represent current era technology. It's great to see stuff like this coming out. Now…if I can only get someone to fix the Gerwalk/Fighter transformation on the GST Vf-1s Valkyrie… *hint*

  15. Actually, I wanna know, is it possible to make an addon of a specific person? Let's say I wanted an addon of myself, could that be done? Like if I sent in a pic of myself, from different angles and a close up of my face. Could someone make an addon of me, wearing my usual clothing with my face on it? lol, if that were possible, I bet you could make addons of almost anyone couldn't you? Osama Bin Laden could be hiding in Zargabad for all we know. On a side note, does anyone think they can port Cream the Rabbit from HL2 Garry's Mod over to ArmA2? Although I don't think Cream could handle anything bigger than a pistol. She's only 2'3" tall.

I'm sure this will run a helluva lot better than the one I attempted to create. ^_^,v,, There were winter armor, cars, men, objects & support vehicles in Kuik's Winter Camo Pack, I just couldn't figure out how to get them to poop out of the factory. I don't think there were any winter men for the ChDKZ but they do get winter vehicles in that pack.

  18. I think I must be getting old. I grew up playing the Commodor 64, Atari and NES (I did keep playing up through PS2 & PC of course), so I'm not really very computer literate. I'm sure you youngsters look at this stuff and it makes complete sense to you. But for me it might as well be written in chinese. I did a little editing back in OFP and made all the MFCTI 1.1b Coop Winter conversions and the MFCTI 1.1b Coop Tonal with the BAS stuff. I also did an MFCTI for the AEC Island, but no one liked it much, cause the enemy base was usually on one of the other islands and could only be taken by an amphibious landing (swimming your MHQ to the other island) or air assault. The old scripts were a little easier (not by much) for me to follow. Mostly it just involved going through the scripts and changing out all the BIS unit names with the ones from the winter pack. Just lots of copy/paste and dragging things around in the editor. I'm just too old to pick up on any of this stuff, so I'm just gonna have to leave it up to the new generation to do all the editing from now on. They're not the snow covered and winter camo units or vehicles. O.o Civ105rWarfare16.ThirskW was the file I used as a base when making the Namalsk Warfare, but still didn't get any winter units or vehicles to come out of the factories. >.<
  19. I wanted to do this too. I played around with moving Oden Civil Warfare 1.05r over to Namalsk and played a few rounds of it, but stuff was still wrong. I was able to play it all the way through and capture towns and buy units and stuff. But the scripting was so complex I couldn't even figure out what I was supposed to edit. It's nothing like the old MFCTI 1.1b Coop scripting with OFP (which is my most recent attempt at reading or even understanding scripting). I wanted to put the Kuik's Winter Pack in the factories so the winter units would spawn, but couldn't figure that part out. Since I had so much trouble with Namalsk I haven't even bothered to try this on Lingor. I really hope that someone does either a Benny Edition or Oden 105r Warfare for both Namalsk and Lingor. They're both such beautiful islands and deserve to have a Warfare on them.

    Is anyone working on a Winter Vegetation pack? Would love to see some of these islands covered in snow and ice. It's too bad BIS didn't include changing seasons into their awesome game. The scenery could change based on the date the mission was set for.
  22. That is something I'd like to see done as well. It's true the F22 from ArmA1 does work in ArmA2, but a LOT of ArmA1 addons won't work in the Armory or Editor. They might work in the editor, but you gotta place them as empty vehicles and put units into them. Prolly cause the addon is calling for some old ArmA1 units that no longer exist. Other times the ArmA1 addon won't work in ArmA2, cause it's calling or some texture or something that no longer exists. Some ArmA1 addons may load in ArmA2, but are very low quality…what was good enough back then isn't even up to par now-a-days. I know this prolly belongs in the "porting ArmA1 addons to ArmA2" thread, but if you can get the F22 Raptor updated and working that'd be great. It'd be great if the other ArmA1 addons could be updated as well… :p ---------- Post added at 07:49 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:14 AM ---------- While I was here I wanted to request someone update the ArmA1 "Savanna" addon and make one into a Taxi. Can you put "All I Want" by The Offspring into the Action Menu? You could use it to do some Crazy Taxi missions. Could also be useful for Chernarus Life (City Life, Zargabad Life or Sahrani Life). Is it just me or does this video look like Ortego, Sahrani? Maybe you can mess around with the handling so you can drift around corners. I know driving in ArmA2 isn't really all that great… :rolleyes:

    Predator Mod

    I been looking forward to this for awhile. I used to play the old Aliens vs Predator by Fox Interactive game and Aliens vs Predator 2 Gold by Monolith. I used to love those games and seeing the Predator in action really brought back memories. Will you be working on some Aliens too? Imagine swarms of Xenomorphs crawling all over Chernogorsk. The Predator sits atop one of the buildings watching…waiting as the helpless civilians flee in terror. The CDF shows up to put a stop to the "Alien Invasion" the Predator holds his combistick aloft and lets out a terrifying roar. Let the hunt begin… :D Predator vs Humans vs Aliens = fun

    I had to order the AI out of the car and then it let me progress. Just gave the AI the "Next Waypoint" command and it progressed from there.
