    New CPU, still same framerate

Wow, I just discovered that game dont use my 4th core! Well, it shows it working most of all cores but switching afinnity only to first 3 cores is getting me the same FPS!

I won't say it over and over again. Stop being fanboys, first generations of Phenoms were really bunch of slow processors. But AMD was able to make new strong (and cheap!) processors such as Phenoms II. I don't say they can beat i7 or even i5. But they're cca like Q9550, which is pretty enough for ArmA (well, enough for at least 30 FPS). My HW should be enough for ArmA, there must be bottleneck somewhere else. ;) EDIT: Enabled Super A.I., its running somehow better now. Well, now its more playable :)

Hello guys once again Got that new lovely Samsung Spinpoint F3, pity it changed FPS only like +2 or so... now the only reason i see is 1. Something wrong with mobo 2. Windows 7 blargh, I want to play that game finally :/ EDIT: At least, no more stutter :)

anyway, I managed to sold my HDD (Green Caviar) for 25€ and gonna get that Samsung Spinpoint F3 for something about 34€...hope that will work :) If not, at least I'll have a faster HDD for 9€ :D

lol, 955 BE is great in the perf/price ratio, better than Q9550...yup, i7 is much better but you know, not everybody have like 500$ for new DDR3, mobo and CPU ;)

Friend of mine got 5870 and he is running it with no problem :)

    New CPU, still same framerate

Hello, I formated about 2 weeks ago, installed Arma and OA with patches (right after i defragmented the partition only with Arma and OA on it)...Im using 3 partitions, one for video render, next for system, and the last and the biggest for games and music And i had formatted whole HDD (each partition) before the fresh install Win (got windows 7 32 bit before, but the perf. was the same) + with the new CPU other games got FPS boost...for example CoH went from AVG 50 to AVG 100 with new CPU...so I really dont have idea where is the problem... EDIT: So, im gonna try fresh install, hope it will perform better meh... EDIT2: 56 AVG in CO Benchmark 08...lol now im completly out of sense why it sucks so much in some cases

It makes me wonder if its really HDD, cause i have no problem in empty world with just couple of soldiers...i dont really know, but HDD is used to stream textures no? As I know AI calculations are CPU dependant so there should be such a big use of HDD. BTW, I had no stuttering or texture popping up, just low FPS. (Vsync is always off in catalysts)

hmmm so, I see i got to take new HDD...hope it will be because of it cause ill have to kill myself if not
  10. H.A.W.K

    New CPU, still same framerate

hmmm got around 82MB/s at maximum...so, maybe you found the main bottleneck...gosh, spending money again on new HDD :/ EDIT: MAX 82, MIN 1.5, AVG 55, Burst is 135 cca, access time 15ms

also, i forgot to mention that the FPS in the Main menu screen is about 75 (the Khe Sahn panorama) and about 50-60 in the Country side view...so i dont think its Fraps limitation, but im going to try that Ati tray tools

the screenshot is taken right after Alt tab from arma, the temps are cca 35 in idle and something under 50 at load :)

only background running is Fraps (not recording, just FPS watch), got Eset Smart security, no scan and got relatively fresh install of windows (with format ofevery partition, 2 weeks ago or so) so there are only system processes running in the background here is the CPU usage + system processes list...clocks are so low because the multiplier goes down to x4 when not in game or CPU dependant app http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/4761/72801091.png

Got the Western Digital Caviar Green (500GB, 3 Gb/s) http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.asp?driveid=338 here are the specifications...and i forgot to mention, HDD is defragmented ofcourse :) dont think so, my friend has got 8800GTX and Q6600 (without OC) and he is able to run it about 5-6FPS faster :)
