The only problem I face is the file size. I'm here in India and downloading 10 GB every time after a patch release is very frustrating. Takes up 3 - 4 days. I don't know about other people complaining about mod installation but it's a breeze in steam. Just right click on the game and enter the required addon syntax in LAUNCH OPTIONS. I'm sure BI won't release boxed version here in India so if I want to own one I have to import it from Singapore which costs triple the amount (that too in dollars). I'm happy with Steam. Voted - YES

@Blurgh - Try defragging your hard drive. Normally solves most FPS drop issues. I use ATI 5770 and latest catalyst drivers. Enable catalyst AI and never use the option 'Use Application settings' for AA and AF. I had pretty bad performance with that option.

OK, finally I downloaded PMC and I see some 'problem'. When I run Combined Operations, I can see PMC logo and also the campaign but when I go to the Armory, I cannot find the map 'Proven Grounds'. Also no PMC missions in Scenarios (Like BAF had it's own missions different from campaign). Editor shows Proven Grounds but not Armory. Is this normal? thanks. Edit - I bought Arma 2 CO, BAF and PMC from Steam.

+1 Steam downloads the whole game again for every new patch released. Currently downloading OA update which is 3.9 GB. I have downloaded at least 12 GB of Arma this month. Not saying Steam is bad or anything but definitely not good for Arma games. Is there any way to convert Steam into Sprocket system? BIS to the rescue???

Is there a need of AA when HDR is in use? High AA with high HDR killed my 5770 with 80% 3D Rez and 1920x1080

ya ya....... that's what i mean lol....... sorry i'm a MW2 BC2 kinda guy so plz go easy on me lol... I was never successful in creating a CQB mission. Also I downloaded a mod (i don't remember that name) which gave CQB abilities but not so good enough. When I hide behind a wall, strafe out to position the red dot on the enemy and fire, the bullets hit the wall instead of the enemy meaning the wall is interfering even though I've strafed enough to get a clear view of the enemy. I don't know man this could be a separate discussion. I ask this in PMC thread cuz the DLC looked all urban (characters wearing kakhi and jeans pants). I request BIS to ship some CQB scenarios with this DLC.

Will this new DLC allow close quarter urban combat? I'm buying this anyway.

Man thx for the replies yall!!! This editor thingy is crazy mang,!!(watched youtube tutorials) I made a mission with a situation and was able to defeat the Takis. I created 4 units, became a commander, issued orders (This is where I lacked in OA campaign). Whatever I did to win the mission felt very natural and I feel I'm getting a hang of it. This small mission is open to a lot of ideas which I feel is brilliant, it's like directing a movie. Also I will prepare a control chart sheet and paste it on the walls for instant reference. This is some game everyone should get they hands dirty with!!!

Ok, I'm getting owned like shit and I am not able to complete any mission or campaign. Only mission ever completed is this Scud missile mission in BAF. I'm from battlefield MW game background and not so comfortable with the controls but trying to embed the shortcuts controls in my brain. 1. Grand Theft Info (BAF) - In this mission, I cannot find the old rust GAZ car where the docs are hidden. I've run around the whole city but never got a clue about the car or the docs. What am I doing wrong? 2. Jackal (OA) - I successfully land on the base, put some satchels near those tanks and hide behind one of the buildings near the crates with extra explosives. When I touch of the bombs, siren starts and I'm fucked or I kill some takis and then get fucked. HELP!!!! 3. Arma 2 - First mission in Scenario menu - Getting raped and jammed from all directions. I think this concludes that I'm missing something required to play like a soldier. Either I'm very impatient I want to get out there like a Rambo or I get bored turn off the game cuz I'm trying to be stealthy making me go nowhere (wow these maps are HUGE man) Please advise. THX!!!!!

How do take Arma 2 OA screenshots using Xfire? I press Scroll+S but nothing happens. I bought Arma 2 CO from Steam and Xfire sees the game. Any help? Thanks.

I was looking at the new Editor tutorial released by BI and the graphics look great. I have a fairly good system AMD Phenom II X4 and ATI 5770 1GB DDR5. The game runs smoothly with all settings at very high and native rez is 1900x1020 but there are graphic problems such as rough edges and incomplete shadows. Is that because I'm still on WinXP DX 9? Please let me know if upgrading to Win7 DX11 can do any good to improve graphics?? I have the latest version of catalyst drivers. Thanks.

I have read somewhere that a PSU actually gives an output more than what is specified on the PSU. I have no problem with other games such as BFBC2, L4D2, Mass Effect 2, GTA IV etc. I've ordered this cooler master cm 690 II Advance edition. Yes, the problem is my cabinet. It's of a pretty basic model and I can sense the heat near my leg. I think the PSU is fine as the requirement for ATI 5770 is 450W PSU. I input my config in this website, power consumption of my config is 397W. http://educations.newegg.com/tool/psucalc/index.html I think getting a cabinet with better ventilation system would boost the performance.

Should I upgrade the PSU to 500 Watt? Will this improve performance? I got both Arma 2 and operation arrowhead in a package called Combined Operations. I was doing the newly released BI editor tutorials. As the tut says, I dropped this squad car and I could see a huge difference when compared to the graphics in the video. I also have the BAF DLC. This my first ever high end graphics card so I tend to become graphics whore. Does operation arrowhead supports DX11? Is there something I need to do to get optimum graphics? Specs: 1. I bought Arma 2 CO from steam and I have some issues. Whenever I open the map (M key) and try to fiddle with it I get this error '/maps/Takistan/sometexture.aa (Not the exact error message, I'm at work right now. Will post a screen shot once back home) was not found'. Clicking OK continues the game without any problems. This kind of error message pops up even in-game random spot. After a while the game becomes unresponsive. Only option is to hard reboot the computer. I think this problem started after installing BAF DLC (bought from Steam) but I'm not sure though. Can anybody please help me out of this??
