    Grenadier - select grenade type

There's a specific ammo type which allows you to load three grenades into the launcher. Video.

    Arma 3 bots, looting.

I'm unsure if they have implemented this feature yet, but it's certainly possible as demonstrated with ASR_AI in Arma 2. If implemented, the AI would probably use the "Rearm at" function when close enough to a supply point. :) As for interaction between AI and players, that should be fairly easy to accomplish. Simple mathematics (take percentage of ammo) along with an accept/deny option when interacting with humans.

    Endless DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED Crashes

I'm glad you found a solution. Has anybody else tested it? If so, any luck? I'm currently testing four "stable" versions back from 314.22 to see if it makes any difference. Ideally I'd like to run with the latest drivers, so may just end up forcing VSync on.
  4. I recommend using the Virtual Ammo System. I'm not sure how TAW_Tonic's script differs (dynamic from config, or static/pre-defined) from the one used in the quoted Dynamic War Sandbox mission but according to SavageCDN there is a performance decrease. It's definitely worth checking out.

Can I order my team to use laser sight?

Select the unit(s) followed by the number six. This allows you to also interact with their gear, if an ammo box is close by.
  6. I have no idea. It would make sense for them to finish the official documentation first and with over one thousand commands, it could take months. I noticed that, here is the correct link.

    ArmA2 ACE = CoD ???

I also dislike how one can sprint up steep slopes, and hope that it will change. But for now it's an improvement over Arma 2, in regards to the animations not stopping and starting depending on the incline. As for operating weapons while jogging, this is completely possible in real life so I don't see the problem. Accuracy is obviously reduced, allowing for inaccurate ranged suppressive fire or faster entry to unsecured buildings or compounds. :) In my opinion, the developers are onto the right track with movement and stances. But as with anything, there's still lots of room for improvement. Overall, I feel that the animations are more fluid and give a greater representation of real life movement in comparison with Arma 2. Edit: If you could create a side-by-side showcase of movement from Arma 3, Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty, I think that would silence many critics.

    Switch between Greade type?

Use Ctrl + G for hand grenades, and the action menu (scroll wheel) for the under barrel grenade launcher.

what's the real problem with arma animation system?

Arma 3 contains very similar helicopter models to Take on Helicopters, so it's possible as the animations have already been motion captured and produced (for the A/MH-9 at least). I doubt that the developers see this as a fundamental gameplay issue, so we can only hope they have the time and resources to implement such animations (including animated doors) for most default vehicles for, or after the full release. I'm also pretty certain that such animations for the ATV are already implemented.

Great work! I'm a modelling rookie so will definitely be stopping by at your live-steam again for some advice. :D This may relate to your zeroing issue.
  12. I voiced my opinion in an unclear way. I feel that while the game developers can improve on emotions related to combat (suppression, fear of dying) and fatigue, more complex (happiness, sadness, confusion, anger) emotions mainly come from good missions. :)
  13. I believe that it's mainly down to the mission maker to affect emotions by designing in an intelligent way. Suppression mechanics do have a great impact, but other than that it's difficult to simulate emotion in a generic sandbox environment. In general, combat should be a little more stressful now due to the fact that all buildings can be occupied, which increases the chances of window shooters. :) Edit: While on the subject of emotions, the sprinting duration is horribly short even when carrying little gear. When in combat, adrenaline levels are high meaning the player shouldn't feel the level of fatigue that he seems to do, as the game stands currently. I can deal with driver and game crashes all day long, but this bugs me.

    ARMA III & Steam WORKSHOP

I'm not sure if it has been mentioned in this thread, but I'm pretty sure that starting a civil lawsuit against Valve would give them their right to terminate your account (as per the accepted terms and conditions).

    Vsynch

I have the same experience with Arma 3. As Adaptive VSync if disabled on my Nvidia control panel, I assume that they've implemented a similar feature when VSync is turned on in-game. Which is a good thing as it reduces the fluctuation, since the game plays smoothly at such frame-rate.

    ARMA III & Steam WORKSHOP

This isn't an issue about receiving credit for work, but a potential issue for stolen work being used and sold to commercial game developers without the permission or knowledge of the author. If I understand correctly, Intellectual Property rights still apply regardless of the foundations which work has been created upon. For example, if a software developer creates a desktop application for a Windows operating system, he doesn't forfeit the rights to his work. As for your final comments, if you take time to read the post which I linked, you would understand that those words have no relation to the Armaholic website but are from a respected community member, who sadly is all too aware of the issues surrounding the respect for author rights in this community.

    ARMA III & Steam WORKSHOP

Absolutely not. At least until the Steam Workshop Contribution Agreement is changed or expanded on. As RKSL-Rock pointed out over on the Armaholic forum, it will cause too many issues if one uploads another developers work without permission. Especially if the theft of work is discrete (ie models, scripts and textures).
  20. When developing an object, only one model is created (if I understand it correctly). With the use of LODs it may appear as though interior details are different, when looking into a vehicle from third person for example. As for night and thermal optics, they are just filters. Though each "hot" object has a thermal signature. I'm not entirely sure how this is implemented, but assume through texturing. I hope this helps you understand. :)
  21. Posts 14 and 17 contain spam. I've just added mine, great list. Maybe you could create a new table for when people have average, minimum and maximum benchmark framerates, combined with hardware. :)
  22. First, be sure that you're running Combined Operations. To do this, right click on "ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead" in your Steam library, then select "Launch Combined Operations" or similar. If this doesn't help, please post your arma2(oa).rpt files(s). If the dependency list section of a mission.sqm file has been manually modified or broken, it is possible to join that particular mission without the required content being installed. I suspect that this is the cause, if you play on a single mission.

    Arma3 gameservers spotted

From looking at both the original and uploaded source code, I'd say they are using a single login instead of a database with multiple. So it's less likely to be an ION "employee" combination, in my opinion. Not that this information will help much. :p
