What if CryEngine was used as Arma 3 future engine?

I think putting arma on Cry would be amazing! I understand the whole "it wouldnt be large scale and we couldnt have 50000000000 ai doing stuff" but come on really.... who does that??? If you could take arma scale and put it on the cry engine it would be a total win all around. it would finally allow SO many things that arma's engine does not.(Good quality CQB, Texture to render-so many options there-, destructible environment, more realistic flight physics) no offense to anyone but seriously there are just some things that just need to added to the existing engine if its to stay around for another game. Its a great engine no lie there. Its also Old. And even the Best die and get replaced. there are just some things that need to either be added or put into a new engine. speaking of VBS lol VBS has many features that arma does not. Features that shouldnt be left out in arma. you think they would at least take RV2 and make RV3 the same but better. instead of taking alot of features out...... Just my pennies on the subject -
As some of you may know. CryEngine 3 is been released.... my only thought??? Arma on cry engine 3 HOW EPIC WOULD THAT BE! Discussion ensue!

so its fairly easy then? or is it complicated... sound easy LOL -
we have insurgency up on our server alot (taskforce blackjack) and we have a good amount of players on alot. no mods required, with some really really good team play. Team Speak is a must in my mind :) Your welcome on anytime :) It really just comes down to what times your on. some days there are alot of active servers other are slow if maybe only 1 active server hit or miss really

Ok so here is my premise. I downloaded the Mi-26 (http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=12312&highlight=MI-26) from armaholic and its awesome! working doors, working cargo bay and the like. It's just freaking awesome! I love how you have to actually drive the cargo (bradly,apc ect.) Into the vehicles and then attach it. Really adds to the realism! I envision heli coming in, opens back door, goes 30mph at 5alt. and the tanks rolls out lands and starts shooting!! ahaha ok this may not be possible BUT i did have an idea For passengers when you walk in you can see seats where you then use the scroll menu to "ride in back" which is great. when you "get out" it puts you outside the model of the heli on the ground. which is also fine. thats just how its done. This takes away from the realism however. I know i dream for a day when we can walk around the inside of the heli in midflight (hint hint arma3) LOL BUT there is a way to get closer to this goal. Is there a way to do a "load cargo" script for Players?? like the vehicles do for the mi-26?? This way players would have to open door to heli, walk onboard, over to a seat, use scroll menu to "load cargo" themselves in where there attached and then the heli takes off. When the heli lands they "unload cargo" and are next to the seat INSIDE the heli where they then have to precede out the door onto the ground!! obviously this can't be done for some existing models BUT is there a way to do this?? Thanks guys :)

Sooo... its a config proxy? and then its doable? all i would have to do is edit the mi-26 proxy? itll do the "getin" inside and the "get out" inside as well? sorry i didnt quiet get what you were saying :(

something to keep in mind is. THE AI SUCK no matter how many mods or how much ZEUS you use. there not going to match a human. (see the PS) This in Multiplayer would be AMAZING! I think that they should make arma have a flightsim + Tanksim in it. maybe as a mod or something. cuz it seems to me EVERYONE can fly its like COD EVERYONE is a sniper. just because they can be. make the flying more sim like? and you set a standard. like with ace sniping. Not everyone can just pick it up and shoot. takes practice (specially with windage). why not apply the same thing to flying? or tanks? The thing is.. Should and Could are two different things. Although i want pretty complex sim flying and tanks. i don't think it will happen due to costs and time. BUT I think what you presented here is a good solid step in that direction. or if anything good conversation :) ps ZUES is Gods gift to arma. I never play without it. Just my 2 cents...

hmmm.... my only thought to that is add many "ride in back" options for each "seat" or something... but isn't that the same problem you have when getting out in anyother heli? or could you randomly "getout" people inside of the heli like positions 1-5 or something

That was exactly my thoughts pufu!!! the only thing is thats the first half. the second half was when you "get out" it would keep you inside the model.

Sweet! on monday night we (TFB) may pop on there! we've been looking for a PVP server besides our own :) around 9:30 and 10:00 est is when we get on (on mondays)

It's pretty active! i myself had the same question when i got this game and once i joined a unit the activity has been nonstop. campaign there, PVP here, coop there, missions building game modding squad training. EVERYTHING!! TFB (TaskForce Blackjack) has a pretty active server (as of today ranked 25th) just filter for "taskforce blackjack" in multiplayer and we'd be happy to have you on! :)

AHAHA no doubt! but we can all have our dreams! AHAH :) more likely they just land (cargo doors already open) and the apc ect. drives out. It's pretty legit! I just really really really really want to have walking around heli's to have a point. When you can get in from outside the Helicopter and you can get out outside the model there really is no point to being able to walk inside...
