MCC Sandbox 3 - Dynamic mission creating tool for ArmA 3
gihzmo replied to shay_gman's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I am SO excited that you guys are integrating Zeus into MCC. It can only make a fantastic mod better. -
We tried Zeus for the first time last night and had an absolute ball. The one complaint everyone had was they did not have access to VAS. I believe I could make a map or edit an existing Zeus map and ad VAS statically. However, I was wondering if anyone knew a way to add VAS to an object in Zeus. While on the same subject, but slightly different, is it possible to add other custom items as objects in Zeus? Like other vehicles not currently implemented. Personally I think this is one of the best things that Bohemia has done for multiplayer Arma 3. Keep up the good work!

XMedSys - Improved Medical System for A3
gihzmo replied to sancron's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Are there any issues with using XMedSys with MCC? I really enjoy the mod, but we are having issues with it in MCC. We have not been able to get the revive to work correctly, and when someone dies, most of the time the respawn button is unavailable and they have no option but exit the game. This would not be a huge issue if we could get revives to work, but we are not able to. Do you have any suggestions? -
MCC Sandbox 3 - Dynamic mission creating tool for ArmA 3

I am curious on why you would not take this and extend MCC? I have not spent a lot of time in either system, but from the few hours I have used in each, they seem to focus on different things. Zeus is more direct control and can micro manage, where MCC is more overall mission systems. Now, if you could integrate the fantastic work you have done with MCC with Zeus, wouldn't that be a win-win? -
Got it, thanks for your help.

Wow.. by the time I had the issue, and came to the forums... BIS already had a patch released. Now THAT is service! :p
-
Got it, removing that line from the Description fixed the issue. thank you guys! ---------- Post added at 02:37 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:41 AM ---------- So, how is VAS in the map? Do I just need to add static ammo boxes with the init line, or have you added it so they are place-able by Zeus?
-
As far as I can tell, it is referencing a file inside of a PBO in the Arma3/addons folder. the Functions_F pbo. But I am really not sure what you mean by import it from Arma. Sorry, I am new to modifying maps. ---------- Post added at 12:49 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:29 AM ---------- So I made a couple changes (made some of the BlueFor something other than rifleman). I got the mission to load in multiplayer, but now it does not show any options for Zeus. I cannot place any items . The only thing I can do is place markers.

I am having the same issue with this map as I had with the one I tried to modify. I opened the map file in the editor and exported it to multiplayer. When I go to launch a multiplayer game, the game crashes. I get the crash before I ever hit the map selection screen. The error I get is: Include File a3\functions_f\Params\paramGuerFriendly.hpp not found. When I remove the generated map, the game works fine, I can pick from the default multiplayer maps.
-
Awesome! Thanks!
-
Is there any chance that you could release your map with VAS integration? I have been trying to get a rudimentary version of this working with no luck.
-
Ah! I missed that. Thank you.

I am getting this error as well. I have done what was suggested and I still get the error. What I have set up is very simple: 1 Game Logic Zeus (ZeusUnit) 1 Game Mode: Game Master 1 Zues: Game Master (Owner ZeusUnit) 1 Camera Position 1 Set attributes: Player 2 Manage Resources (one with 100 one with ticks) 1 Set Editing Costs 1 Restrict Editing area All of the zeus modules are synced back to Zeus:Game Master. So I am not sure what I do not have, or what I have not done correctly. I copied a pasted everything from one to the other and I still get this error.

Awesome video, very helpful. This will help our group a bunch in making some new missions utilizing Zeus.

Will someone explain the whole Zeus game mode to me?
gihzmo replied to beavis_5000's topic in ARMA 3 - ZEUS
The way I like to explain it to people is it is like D&D, but with the modern military. Zeus is the DM and the players are the subje... errr players. -
I am curious, when do saves happen? I have a had a couple times where I log out and things were not quite up to date where I left off. Also, it does not seem to be saving magazines and first aid packs correctly. When I come back in, I have 1 mag of the 15 that I had before and I had no first aid kits. Again, great mission, just a few little issues. Thank you for all your work, we are having a blast.

A few of us ran this map last night, and I have to say we had some of the best, most exciting fights I have had in Arma, period. The AI is brilliant. It responds intelligently, flanks you, hunts you and the game is so exciting because of it. It also runs so well, so much better than many of the highly scripted large missions out there.

I am starting to think that Arma just does not work well with AMD processors... -
re: Beyond recommended requirements - Terrible Performance
gihzmo replied to fabio_chavez's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
I have not seen a very big difference in lowering the settings. Usually less than 5 FPS at most going down to low or normal. Running the Insurgancy map on Very High - 16-17 FPS. Same map on Normal - 19 FPS -

The only BI missions that have been released are on Stratis. Stratis is working fine. I have not seen any BI content for Altis yet. -

I have tried changing these things, but in the screenshots above, I am running at Very High for both. It is running on an SSD. ---------- Post added at 01:53 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:48 PM ---------- This is ridiculous, why did my post get removed with the screenshots in it?? I am trying to figure out what is going on with the game... ---------- Post added at 01:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:53 PM ---------- Ok, lets try again. Same settings. Base Arma http://imgur.com/a/iSwlE#0 Insurgancy Altis: http://imgur.com/a/poS8m#10 ---------- Post added at 01:57 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:54 PM ---------- Ok, so it let me link them this time. So what I did is I loaded a single Pawnee into Altis and ran around. No issues at all. I loaded the Insurgency map for Altis, and it ran terribly. The difference I saw was in base Altis, the FPS was 40-60 with 50-75% GPU Utilization. and 75-100% CPU utilization. Insurgency was 15-25% GPU utilization and sub 50% CPU utilization. So why is this happening. Please see the screenshots above. ---------- Post added at 03:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:57 PM ---------- I tried this with Wasteland on a dedicated server I have poor performance and the GPU seems to give similar results, but it does spike up higher: http://imgur.com/a/yDg0S -

I actually was not sure it was even going to get approved. I was watching the forums after I posted for a few hours and never saw it approved. It may have been a time zone thing though. I am not sure exactly how to take the response, because if what he is saying is correct, what do recommended specs mean? How is that any better then a minimum spec if I still have to tweak the game to get it running at a playable rate. Also, according to the "auto-detect" it set everything to Ultra. Also, I have been running the game at Very high and been able to get 50 FPS sometimes, when a few things are going on, it can drop to 10-15. However on Altis, I am getting no more then 20 ever. Usually I am getting 5-10 FPS. I have tried running the game on low, and seen the an increase of maybe 3 FPS. So again, if those specifications do not match reality, what are they good for? I asked for multiple reasons. One I want my problem fixed, however this is a huge issue for Bohemia when your current customers cannot recommend the game based on terrible performance issues. So, is this issue with my hardware, or is this entirely because the dev build Altis is not optimized. I would think this would be a #1 priority since we are now 10 days from launch. Again, these are my system specs: OS Windows 7 SP1 AMD Phenom II X4 965BE 3.4Ghz AMD Radeon HD 7950 3GB 8GB RAM -
Beyond recommended requirements - Terrible Performance
gihzmo posted a topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
According to http://www.arma3.com/buy/ the recommended system specs for this game are: OS Windows Vista SP2 Windows 7 SP1 (Apple OS not supported) PROCESSOR Intel Core i5-2300 AMD Phenom II X4 940 GRAPHICS Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 AMD Radeon HD 7750 GPU MEMORY 1 GB DirectX® 11 RAM 4 GB How am I supposed to take this, I would assume this means I should be able to run the game on max settings at a very playable frame rate, am I wrong about that? My system exceeds those specs by a good bit, and the game runs terribly on Altis and sometimes even on Stratis. My system specs are as follows: OS Windows 7 SP1 AMD Phenom II X4 965BE 3.4Ghz AMD Radeon HD 7950 3GB 8GB RAM So according to the information provided by Bohemia on the page that is selling the game, I should have absolutely no problem running this game, and I should in fact run it exceptionally well. So my point in all this is I feel like either there is something horribly wrong with the game, the interaction with certain hardware or Bohemia GROSSLY understated the recommended specs for the game. I ticks me off when companies advertise a "recommended" system specs, but that spec does not run the game well. I am hoping this is not the case because it will do nothing but cause problems with people new to the series who see that they should be able to play the game, but cannot. I love the Arma series, and I have put an enormous amount of time into the game. Would it be possible to get some information from the devs about this? Maybe some timeline on fixing the issue, or if it is working as intended, some updated system specs. -
FPS: SP is great. MP is horrid. Tried several community suggestions. Still lost.
gihzmo replied to BLSmith2112's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Have any devs talked about the performance issues with Alits? Other then the 32 bit issue? The only thing that seems playable right now is Stratis. If I turn all my settings to low, I can squeak out 15fps on Altis. This seems like a pretty major problem. -

gihzmo replied to BLSmith2112's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
I am having major issues in MP on Altis. On Stratis in SP i get 60 FPS, in SP on Altis, I get 40. When I go into MP on Altis, I get between 8 and 20, depending on the server. My system: Windows 7 X64 Phenom II 965BE x4 3.40Ghz 8GB RAM ATI 7950 (Latest Beta driver) Arma running on SSD I hear from people with lower end systems running the game better on MP servers. Is this a case of Altis just not being optimized, or do I need to do something else? I have GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1; GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=1; set in the cfg and I have -cpuCount=4 -high sets -maxMem=4096 -noPause -noSplash in the launch string Any suggestions?
