LEA - Loadout Editor For ArmA 2 Combined Operations and ACE 2
major_shepard replied to major_shepard's topic in ARMA 2 & OA : Community Made Utilities
If you are in mission editor of ArmA 2, the "Apply Loadout" can be used as much as you want, this is for help people testing stuff . If you are connected to a dedicated server running Arma 2 (multiplayer game), you have 5 minutes max after the mission goes through the Briefing step. -

For the time being do assignement into ArmA 2 Editor, save the mission then import the mission into LEA. I'll fix the problem I soon as possible and you get it through LEA Updater (no re-download needed). ---------- Post added at 03:46 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:42 PM ---------- Of course could be done. -

Thanks for posting. To rollback your mission, open the mission folder, you will find a "mission.sqm.bck0". So delete the mission.sqm file and rename "mission.sqm.bck0" to "mission.sqm". The problem come from a wrong rewrite of mission.sqm during the reassignment operation you may have done. You right LEA does not read INIT line of mission.sqm file. -

In LEA 2.0 you will be able to directly import data of a pbo addon into LEA database. For the time being, if you want it "rapidly" I need you to compile the data of the addon (classname, displayname etc) into an Excel sheet (.xls/.xlsx). If you are ok, I give you a Excel template for this. -

LEA 1.0 doesn't support vanilla ArmA 2 OA backpacks that's why it is desable. If some are interested I may add the implementation in a next update. I don't understand sorry. The Loadout is desable when the unit you choosed is not assigned or it is vehicle unit. Please read the LEA wiki ^^ -

So it did change place? I gonna look at it. You will have a fix in a next update through LEA Updater. I don't understand your question exactly. You can configure LEA to be used without ACE stuff (no weapon, Ace Wounds system desable etc) => go Help menu, select Addons Manager and uncheck ACE. Thus doing so you would not mistaken with ACE stuff while doing a profile for example. -

In LEA, all stuff in the "Optical" list goes to the "Equipment" slot of ArmA 2 for both vanilla and ACE 2.^^ ---------- Post added at 07:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:52 PM ---------- Thanks. Actually LEA uses data from sick-bowser for what concerns ArmA 2 and ACE 2. Thank you so for this huge work of compilation. :) -

AddonSync2009 (downloader, launcher)
major_shepard replied to Yoma's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I never said that Addon Sync actually matches what I want. Use it because it is nearly convenient with the way my community and those I know play Arma. So the situation looks like this basically: 1. We play ArmA only like a simulation (with ACE, ACRE and all the stuff). Which means that we never play (and dislike) Domination/WarFare... on public servers. We only play on our private one or those of our friends clans. So there is absolute no need for an included servers browser and synchronisation stuff with the addons being played on public servers. We use Arma 2 Launcher from SpiritedMachine (http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=8241) which works very well and is well understood by our players. 2. Some of our players have low DSL bandwith. A synchronisation process that auto update addons when joining server would be an absolute nightmare for all players taking part to the mission. All will have to wait for them. 3. We have robust hardware server with 1 GB symetric DSL bandwith full administrated by ourself with TS3, ftp , http.. ~24/24 7/7 available. So our players can download all addons we use from our Yoma repository at maximum of their bandwith. Those addons and only those ones are use during our missions, which prevent crashes of ArmA server due to conflicting addons. 4. Our mission makers develop their mission based on our addons server list. All of them have busy life (study, children...) so no lot of time to spend in updating their mission because an addon has been updated and it makes mission crashing. Also our addons repository is not updated all time which means that our players must absolutely be synchronised with our server and not another one. 5. Some of our players have also busy life and little time to spend in updating their addons. All they need and want is one click-like solution witch make their game updated and synchronised with our server. A stuff they can run the day/the night before the game which will automatically update their game so that they are ready to go the day after. So what would be ideal solution from my point of view. I think the best way would be 2 softwares: 1. One for server side with the minimal following capabilities: - One click build repository from addons server list (like yoma) - Able to detect changes in addons server list and do as a consequence a partial rebuild, not a full one. - Capability to generate and auto-updater file (like yoma) witch players will just have to import and auto configure their client side software. 2. One for client side - A list featuring addons server list showing differences with the local one. - Possibility to select/unselect addons - One button to proceed update - The possibility to run the client side software as a Windows service, with notifications of downloading and updating process. -

I appreciate sickBoy what you do for the ArmA community. But players of my team and many others I know do not understand SixBrowser and so they don't want to use it. I know team that develop their own updater and it is very simple. Two or tree buttons and a list of addons and that's all. Players are very happy with that. They very much prefeared to spend their time in playing Arma 2 rather than looking for a the very last release of addons in a huge mess of servers. -

Hi all, As a member and administrator of a ArmA 2 team we have our own dedicated server hosting ArmA, ftp and Addon Sync repository. Basically, players only use Addon Sync client to update their addons, which make it sure that everybody is synchronized with the server content. That stuff work fine. However the repository builder has a major drawback. It can't do partial rebuild. Meaning that a minor add to the repository would go into a full rebuild of the repository. With several Go of addons, this could take one hour. Speaking for many ArmA 2 teams I know, such a feature would be very wellcome. Well if Yoma do not have time to spend in Addon Sync anymore, I would really appreciate the source code to be shared on a SVN server or something else so that others like me could still make the stuff going on. -
[ACE 2] Medical gear & scripting
major_shepard posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA : MISSIONS - Editing & Scripting
Hi all, I would like to modify the medical gear content of ACE 2 wounding system through sqf scripting. As far as look into the documentation http://ace.dev-heaven.net/wagn/Wounds_Overhaul, there is no information about variables to modify in that goal. Thanks for help -

It rocks dude! The men upon the T-55,is it a mod of your own? -
Great stuff! Great work! :) However I think a smaller variant would be much easier to deploy in mission like assaulting a beach under heavy fire. Have a look at this VBS2 video: !

Seems that is not possible to mount on the top of ACE's BTR-70. Am I right? Just ask the question because it is possible with RHS's BTR-70. Thanks -

thanks it rocks ! :) -
Hi, I am trying to write a script witch apply some priviledges to the player logged as Admin in the mission. So my question is: how is it possible through scripting to identify the player logged as admin in the server console? Many thanks

ACE 1.5 (Advanced Combat Environment) for OA/CO
major_shepard replied to xeno's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Hi everyone, I'd like to get some help about the ace wounded system. I want to add some features in my mission like so: when a soldier in coma state is in a stretcher, a medical evac chopper and things like that, the countdown is stopped. To do so I need to access to the variable which is decremented in the ace_wounded_system. So far as I know ace_wounds_prevtime variable is just used to initialize the timer, not modified it at will. Hope someone could help :) Edit : some piece of answer: to variable to modify is "ace_w_reveive" in ace_sys_wounds's pbo. Now I need to access to player state when he is in coma. I see "ace_w_state" variable which seems to match it. There are different numbers 801,802,.. what does it correspond to? Thx -

ACRE v1.0 - Advanced Combat Radio Environment - Official Thread (ArmA2 to TS3 Plugin)
major_shepard replied to noubernou's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
@Frosties, Installation of ACRE is the same for both client and server. Then you must launch ACRE and Jarma2lib mods on the server side in order to make il works. That's all. Note that ACRE is not working for the moment with the 1.54 patch. -
