  1. Any chance for this one we can get a wider variety of insertion options? Say...during the initial thing you get to start either in the Ghosthawk (as now) or maybe in a SDV, or a parachute deployment (and with a parachute deployment you manually set the waypoint when selected so everyone knows where to try and aim during the drop)?

    Had I to guess, when it came to the helo being shot down, the damage amount simply overloaded whatever repair amount was being applied. I imagine the script is more than sufficient for small-arms and anti-air artillery of all sorts, but SAMs will break the script by overloading a critical component. I haven't played the mission yet, but might want to be something to look into if you have missile batteries anywhere nearby.

    Steamworks, add it in or not?

    I voted yes. Now, whlie I'm not necessarily Pro-Steam...I do use it a lot for my gaming, and have Arma2/OA on Steam. I just think that, frankly, Steam, whether we like it or not, is probably going to be a part of the Arma 3 Experience. Whether that's a good thing or not, is a matter of debate, but that's not the point I'm making. If Steam is part of the experience, then you may as well go all out with it, pretty much, and bring in Steamworks. It'll make things easier for modders, map makers, and others along those lines, letting them more easily share their content, and THAT I think is key, especially given the clusterfuck (pardon my language) that is getting mods to run without using command line strings or third party apps in the current Arma 2 environment. Anything to help streamline mod usage is a good thing in my book.
  4. Question about these functions: Do you link them to the artillery pieces, or to the player, or do they just have to be...somewhere...on the map?
  5. Thanks alot, PvPscene; hopefully they get this sorted out soon enough - quick follow-up though: does this affect both the English and original versions of the campaign, or just the English? Speaking of which, what is the difference, just the voiceovers, with the subtitles in the selected language(s)?
  6. I'm trying to play the German campaign, but for some reason in the very first mission, my camera randomly locks up on me, making it impossible for me to look around or anything. Now obviously, this would be problematic in general, but this is doubly so here since it seems to only ever happen at the firing range after you ride in the truck, and also it happens after every shot, or after several seconds, whichever comes first - in order to get through the firing range I'v had to resort to firing at the targets, then saving, reloading, and continuing on, hoping I can realign for the next target. Interestingly, I've only had this issue in the campaign; I've created a number of missions in teh editor and never had an issue.

I'm no expert, but maybe you could do something where you check the proximity of the satchel to the object, and when activated/detonated, you use a remove object and place object command to replace the original object with the destroyed one, with objective completion based upon the presence of the destroyed static stand-in.

    No. If they do, I'm quite sure it'll go the way of the OFP series that Codemasters runs and that's something none of us want.
  9. I love the mod. This mission is perhaps my favourite of them all out there, all three variations, but Takistan in particular. That said, any chance you could make a version that is BAF-compatible?
  10. I'd love to see a project that expands upon the UN Peacekeepers, making all the vehicles in the game come in a UN scheme. As fun as it is to have M113s or numerous Russian-made vehicles drive around in white, I'd love to see a greater variety in equipment available to them. Maybe a greater variety in UN soldiers too, so that they all don't look like they're from a former Soviet-controlled Central Asian nation.

    Some Infantry-based ideas for next DLC

    ...And what's wrong with BIS making their own versions of DLC, again? Hell, if BIS can't copy mods...they'll pretty much be relegated to expanding the UN peacekeeper faction (which I'd love to see actually have a variation of every single vehicle in a UN version, and a wider variety of UN foot soldiers too) and adding a few third-rate African or the various South American armies, since there hasn't been a mod for any of that.
