Guys don't even try to play the game on laptops, you'll encounter a shitload of lag, fps spikes and worse gameplay than on desktop... Even my 2 years old 900€ desktop is more powerful than your -2010 1.5-3k laptop .

No man, if bad CPU or not enough of RAM, it'll make the game in network go fucking gay. I had it on BF 2 and BF 2142 on my old computer, people would constantly lag and warp.. I got a new computer with 4870 HD and an AMD Athlon II x2 7850BE cpu with 4 gigs of RAM and it all disappeared.. But ArmA is lagging and making people warp around when I got under 25fps.. My brother does not have this problem.

Hello, you are very wrong if you say that the motherboard doesn't matter the performance a single bit. You need to get your things right, then start raging about computers.

Hey man. Delete your old nvidia drivers, then re-boot, then install the new ones, re-boot again and then check what's your performance, you upgraded anything else? Check the power connectors and re-check cables after that, if the drivers aren't working.

It is hot and loud since its Fermi; but it is almost as powerful as 5870 but has a fan of a jet engine.

460 GTX scales in SLI almost 100% in 1920x1080 reso, 5850 goes for like 40% if even that... remember the price difference also. 460 SLI outperfroms 5850 CF in very many tests.

Replace the 5850 with either 5870 or 460 SLI or you will be disappointed.

896mb. I've searched and did the things people said that helped with optimizing it... still wont break 30fps but oh well... seems like a gtx 460 is in the works. You should've got the 1gb version.. anything under it is just pain with 1920x1080 reso and above. But the problem is for sure somewhere else if your AA is off. And the 260 GTX is almost 2 years old anyway, shouldn't even perfrom well as it is mid-range GPU of its time.

The thing is, if you want future proof, wait till either Sandy Bridge or Bulldozer comes out. The 6X core AMD is outperformed by an old i5 750 in gaming so it is not too good.

AMD 6X is not enough powerful for the price atm.. 200€ for the power of a 940BE in gaming use is not just a good deal. So why you should get a !AMD! PHENOM II X4 965 BE or 955 BE (didn't even know i7 phenoms exist) is that 965 goes for 50-100€ cheaper than the cheaper Thuban, and 150-200€ cheaper than the better Thuban. If Intel, you should get i5 750 for max performance/ price right now, for the price of 200€ on cpu... it delivers when overclocked i7 930 stock performance which is atleast quite fine. The SLI setup has no microstutter which you would notice if you don't FUCK up your system pretty hard. CF is fine too but Nvidia just does the better drivers, which is a simple fact. Anyone not agreeing with these points is either a troll or a moron, if no reliable source is pointed.

On my dualcore when you OC it from 2.8 to 3.1 it give 6 fps boost, from 18 to 24.. I'd say you should overclock it. In DX 11 games, yeah since ATi sucks in tesselation. In DX 9 and 10 ATi outperforms single handedly its comparison... though there might be microstutter, anyone with a 5870/5850/5970 can verify if it exists while running this game?
