  1. Yeah - I learned the "Run as Administrator" trick early on.
  2. I uninstalled the audio driver, wiped it clean with "Driver Cleaner", then reinstalled directx, then reinstalled the game - still the same "X3DAudio..." error. Does BIS tech support answer? I sent them 3 emails so far.................. ---------- Post added at 11:28 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:27 AM ---------- The sound card (embedded) is Realtek. I checked and I do have the latest drivers.
  3. I tried a meticulous audio driver uninstall - even ran that driver cleaner sw - then reinstalled directx, then reinstalled arma2 - no good - same X3DAudio_6.dll error. BIS will hopefully answer my email for tech support someday??
  4. Ok I did uninstall the audio drivers but did NOT use that cleaner software - is that software shareware? Can you post a link to it? Thanks, Mark
  5. Thanks for responding - but I followed that thread and the reinstallation of the latest Directx to the letter - didn't help! Arrrrggggghhh.............
  6. I downloaded the Feb Directx update from Microsoft, then extracted and installed. It went through the updating process and when I ran DXDIAG, everything checked out. I also ran the "Webupdater" later on as well. I am running Win7 64 and just got my system last week, so it already had Directx 11 on it.
  7. I have an Intel board with embedded "High Definition Audio" on board. I uninstalled the driver in Device Manager, then rebooted. Upon reboot Windows 7 automatically reinstalled the driver, and it still did not work. Idid not, however, use the "driver Cleaner" or whatever it is software - could that be the difference??????????????????
  8. I am experiencing the same "X3D - not a Windows file..." shit. I have also tried all suggestions. Does BIS tech support EVER answer????????? ---------- Post added at 01:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:24 PM ---------- I have run the latest Directx updates and this does NOT fix this problem. Something else is going on here.
  9. I get the same error - I upgraded my Directx but it still did not work. Both the demo AND the full version give me this error.

Windows 7 64 ArmA II Crash

Did that - same same. I renamed the X3DAudio_6.dll and even re-installed the Directx on the ARMA2 DVD - it put it's own X3DAudio_6.dll file back (filedate: 3/16/2009) and it still crashed. Maybe I need another sound card?
  11. I'm going nuts! I purchased ArmA2 a couple of days ago, and cannot get it to run on my system (specs below). I have updated the game to 1.05, but when I run the game I get the error: “C:\Windows\system32\X3DAudio1_6.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error†Can ayone help?? System Information: ------------------ Time of this report: 4/15/2010, 21:15:37 Machine name: W0842997 Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.100226-1909) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: INTEL_ System Model: DH55HC__ BIOS: BIOS Date: 03/26/10 13:44:50 Ver: 08.00.10 Processor: Intel® Core i5 CPU 660 @ 3.33GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.3GHz Memory: 8192MB RAM Available OS Memory: 7990MB RAM Page File: 2211MB used, 13765MB available Windows Dir: C:\Windows DirectX Version: DirectX 11 DX Setup Parameters: Not found User DPI Setting: Using System DPI System DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent) DWM DPI Scaling: Disabled DxDiag Version: 6.01.7600.16385 64bit Unicode THANKS!
