Yes, this is exactly the problem http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/6/2011081600001l.jpg/

Yeah, probably there's no "hardmount" for loader inside vehicle, still as long as his feet don't stick trough tank's bottom (or head trough turrret) weird positioning inside tank doesn't really matter, as unlike OFP we don't see tanks interior anyway.
-
Hey, Xeno426, could you consider also fixing M1A2 loader not turning in, when other crewmen do? It should fix AI engaging said tank with small arms and machineguns instead of RPGs and ATGMs, which is not only hilarious, but pretty much suicidal.

Arma 2 Addon request thread

@PuFu: Yes, with OA, obviously, as vanilla ArmA2 didn't feature buckshot outside ACE. Sorry for not making myself clear enough. -
Arma 2 Addon request thread
kireta21 replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
This one may sound silly. but... Anyone could make ArmA2 shotgun slugs into buckshot? Reason is quite simple. No buckshot in vanilla ArmA2 = no buckshot in ArmA2 missions. Beign restricted to slugs only, kinda defeats reason for using a shotgun. -
Can it protect against top-attack missiles? Just asking.

The more I read about T-95 the more it looks like another MBT-70.

What other war themed games do you play?
kireta21 replied to know_thyself's topic in OFFTOPIC - Games & Gaming
Wargames other than Flashpoint/ArmA2? Blitzkrieg, Combat Mission: Shock Force and 7.62 High Calibre Of other fps games, SP campaigs of Call of Duty 2 and 4 (with ltSpears rebalance mods). -
Depends how many upgrades ArmA3 will offer when compared to ArmA2. Price of a game itself is nothing, but a new PC isn't, especially since I don't really play games that would require powerful rig. In fact, in last 2 years I bought only 2 games: ArmA2+OA and Fallout:NV. Don't get me wrong, I don't really mind paying 50-80$ for a game and 1000-1500$ for a new PC if ArmA3 will offer a significant quality jump in gameplay experience like between Armed Assault and ArmA2+OA. And I think it's possible. Just introducing armor/penetration values alone, would allow to increase both realism and fun A LOT. But if it will be just unfinished game with new graphics, crappy perfomace, mountain of bugs, unbalanced sides with randomly given gear and hardly playable missions like Armed Assault, answer is "maybe", at best. More likely I'll play ArmA2 as I did play OFP after medicore Armed Assault.

One question: Should we expect unBINarized CWA config for editing/modding purpose?

Yes. With maingun ammo mostly removed though. -
equal damage or effect from damage on east and west tanks
kireta21 replied to kotov12345's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Ermm... M1A1 entered service in 1986. Unless you mean M1IP. Same was ERA on T-72B. 1985 T-72B had just slighty better armored turret than T-72A. -
Armor penetration is impossible without engine tweaks, surely won't be added. I mean, seriously, we're asking for it since good old OFP. As for updated A2 content it would be enough to update soldier models to allow backpack proxy, as everything else can be done with mods. But that's just my opinion.
-
Human can calculate danger and decide is it safer to defend themself inside tank until rescue arrive (like friendly APC or infantry) and leave with them, or maybe they should rather GTFO while they still can. AI can't, so until some tweaks are done AI bailing out is optimal choise. Still, they should really get away from disabled vehicle. Or we could take advantage of unrealistic HP system. Basically when track is gone, but rest of the tank is pretty much OK, they would use tank as pillbox, but if vehicle health drops bellow, let's say, 50%, they would bail out, as it's obvious enemy have means to fu**ed them up.

That's not glitch! You just discovered another "haunted house" from Animatrix :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4AfCH5AfQA I wonder why Agent Smith haven't shown yet?

There's ultimate way to "win against" ACE team: Do it better! And I've yet to see anyone doing that. Constructive critisism is always welcomed in any mod (well, unless modder is total douchebag, ugh...), especially if you have idea how to make it better. Bashing mod because it's not dream-come-true is pointless.

Well, realism in ArmA was always to be taken with a grain of salt. And when it comes to tanks and planes damage system it should be handful of salt. Beside, even if there was fully working realistic armor/penetration system, it still would have to be simplified to avoid "tanks on god-mode" ballance problem. See Combat Mission: Shock Force, and mission with Abrams-hunting (forgot name). I wouldn't mind improvement there, but that's not on top of my wishlist. First I would prefer some simple fixes, like RPG hit on turret not damaging tracks and engine via splash damage. No,T-90 IS domestic usage tank. Exports are T-90S (Export T-90A), and special "export" T-90, sometimes refered as T-90E, though it's not official. Both T-90 and T-90A are domestic usage tanks. Also note T-90S, while different from domestic usage T-90A, is no longer "money model" (downgraded) tank.
-
Agree on that, still it changes nothing. Thread is mostly about fixing missiles that actually appear in game, namely TOW, Konkurs and Metis, not adding new ones. Not like I would mind such addon :D, but that goes to /addons subforum
-
Is Khrizantema actually in service? And yes, Kornet is first Russian beam-riding ATGM. Still, that's a moot point, since none of these two is featured in ArmA2
-
There are always addons, like this one: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=12127 yeah, I know, addons, not vanilla... Still better than nothing, right?
-
Now you've made some real discovery! There's more! You can do same with PG-7VR, M1A2 can be destroyed by 3-4 shots from T-72 and 30mm autocannon can destroy T-72! And you know what? We knew it already when game war released. Long story short: There's no Armor/Penetration system in game engine, so weapon effectivness is similar regardless hitting front or side armor. HP system can use multipliers for specific parts, so tracks take more than turret, but that's basically all you can get.

Bohemia Interactive's future ARMA 3!
kireta21 replied to MulleDK19's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
I would throw in something simple, hip firing for machineguns. How? By "AllowHipFiring=1;" in weapon config. How would it work? Basically defined weapon when fired without aiming down sight, in standing or kneeling position would use hip firing animation for virtually no recoil but at price of accuracy, by either increased spread, or better, some kind of "wandering" invisible sight, simulation of weapon beign pointed in less predictible direction. Currently shoulder fired general purpose machinegun recoils like a bitch, which is OK, but using hip firing would allow effective supressive fire during quick advance or in fast short-range firefight. -
Well, guess it's because AI medic don't heal anyone without beign directly ordered to. Wounded soldier reports beign hurt only to his squad leader, so others leaders are not aware of it. So result is no healing request, no healing granted.

To all BAF & PMC DLC ($9.99/ea) owners, Is Reinforcements a slap in the face?
kireta21 replied to stefos71's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Let's not forget "lite" version of both BAF and PMC were added FOR FREE as well with OA patches, right after their release.
