  1. Some people have certainly noticed on the site of Operation Frenchpoint : a INDOCHINE logo recently appeared redirecting to our new website. But what exactly is this mysterious INDOCHINE ? Absolutely nothing to do with the music group (!), the Indochina 1945-1954 mod is a project started in January 2012 (3 years already ...) by Arto and recently joined by Pirat3n, a 3D artist, and W4lkn, author of the mod MAF (French Army Mod) for ArmA 1 and ArmA 2. Long forgotten, often intentionally, the Indochina conflict is a bad memory in France, many prefer to erase from the collective memory (is it the french "chauvinistic spirit" ?). It is with this objective that a team of irreducible Gauls (unlike the famous comic Uderzo and Goscinny, they don't come from Armorica) wanted to pay tribute to these fighters who are not in our history books, by making a mod telling of this forgotten conflict, which lasted ten years. War of what ? Indochina !!! And yes, maybe for most of you, this war not mention you much ... But don't worry, this is normal and we are here to make adjustments. In September 1945, as the Allies celebrate the end of the Second World War and the defeat of the Axis forces, France finds itself once again in a conflict in Indochina ...! First seen as a liberation army by the people of Indochina, the French army must fight the latest Japanese forces in this part of the world. But very soon, the situation will be changed and the conflict escalates into change to colonial war when the Communist forces of Viet Minh assert the independence of Vietnam. Main French colony of Southeast Asia since 1887, Indochina gathered the regions of Tonkin, Annam, Cochin China (which now form Vietnam), Cambodia and Laos. In the context of Cold War, France tries to keep Indochina but especially to push the communist presence in the Southeast Asian Region. But many political reasons compelled the French population has only show little interest, seeing a total rejection of the conflict in Indochina, causing deep unease among the combatants French Expeditionary Corps (the CEFEO) and the rest of the population remained in France. Far from the battlefields of World War II when the enemy was clearly identifiable, French soldiers see themselves fighting a formidable opponent, sometimes peaceful farmer growing rice, sometimes rebellious with his gun. Despite some notable CEFEO's victories as in Phu Tong Hoa or Na San, guerrilla warfare conducted by the Viet Minh seriously impact on the morale of the French Union. The war finally ended in 1954, after the French defeat at Dien Bien Phu, which will put France in a position of weakness in his attempts to lead the talks and the Geneva agreements. 1954 then represents the end of Indochina, Vietnam's separation in two states, the replacement of France by the US as a protective state ... and finally the beginning of a new war for French fighters, which will last also eight: the Algeria ! It was important for us to introduce you this conflict, in a fun way through the game. Although we are trying to focus on the battle of Dien Bien Phu, the mod will try to you immersed in the lives of thousands men and women, civilian or military, French, Indochinese or foreign, with units and materials, as faithfully reproduced, that will be used throughout this deadly conflict. Currently, many models (Sikorsky H-19, 105mm cannon, MAT-49, MAS-36 ...) and a map of Dien Bien Phu are being created, and we hope you will can try all this the fastest possible. Although the project is supported by a well-chauvinist OFrP mod, there will be no bias. Indochina team members are developers / passionate gamers, not politicians. And what does OFrP in ? Today, Indochina and OFrP are one and the same team gathered around a common goal: to represent the French army on games of Bohemia Interactive! This regrouping allows us to mutualize our knowledge and data, while sharing on the same Teampseak. Moreover, it aims to accelerate the work on both mods, and novelty, allowing Indochina still scheduled for ArmA 2, to feel the land on ARMA 3 via modding knowledge OFrP bring to us. Modders of our team can give free rein to their passion and develop a modern French army or an historic project ! After all, Operation Frenchpoint "French Army Mod" is aptly named, all Francophone project will therefore has its place. But don't worry, the identity of the Indochina mod will remain unchanged !   4. Following the very recent update of Operation Frenchpoint mod, we take the opportunity to update the MAFCExt mod. As you know, our mod depent OFrP, this release was essential, so that MAFCExt is fully accessible. No unit has been added, but the bugs in the previous version have been corrected (see changelog below). In addition, our vehicles have now flashing lights functional with sound.   5. When creating the desert camouflage for the Mirage F1CR of MAFCExt mod, I was amused me to make a takistani camouflage. After allowing a few months in my boxes, I share with you my last work of this Mirage F1E of the takistani air force. The add-on also contains a fighter pilot.   6. As promised, the second version of the Mirage F1 package is available with many new features. Thus, planes of sahranian (fictitious army of ArmA: Armed Assault) and chernarussian armies were added. New missiles and configurations are also now available. My imagination has also allowed me to create an aircraft of the 4477th Test and Evaluation Squadron. This pack may well be in its final version unless that new ideas arise. This package requires the game ArmA 2 and its standalone, Operation Arrowhead, and the CBA. Whilst I announced a few weeks ago that following a disagreement within the MAF Studio, which led two of its members, Famas80 and myself, to make a new version of the mod MAF2Ext under the name MAFxExt with their signatures and that should be, as a result of this internal conflict, closed the studio, the team finally managed to meet again with the support of FeudeDaisy, leader of the studio. We are so proud to present the mod MAFCExt, the MAF2Ext's new name. Why this new change ? As you know the MAF2Ext aimed to complete the Hexagon mod when it was released. OFrP 3.1 is the update and after the mod Hexagon, we had to act in order to provide an update MAF2Ext both players having only ArmA2, only players who have OA. Thus the MAFCExt simply has nothing to do with MAF2Ext. It will contain, upon its release, an update of previous units of the mod, a key server for clans, new units, vehicles and aircraft, but also civilian units that were originally planned in the MCF mod, hence the name change to Mod French Army and Civil Extension 2.0 (this is longer than Operation Frenchpoint ...) This mod will make two "sub-mod"! - the mod MAFCExt2 for those who have only the base game and would like to take MAF2ext update, new units as well as some updates that occurred between the passage of Hexagon to OFrP and therefore not available for those with only A2. This mod will complete as before Hexagon v2.1 mod. - The mod MAFCExtOA for those who have ArmA 2: OA is identical to the A2 above but without the updates appearing between the passage of Hexagon to OFrP. This mod will therefore complement the mod now OFrP3.1. Following all these changes, we inform you that the studio MAF will be transformed. So we go on ArmA 2 and completely abandon any projects scheduled on ArmA:Armed Assault ... we apologize also to everyone who was waiting on the MAF mod ArmA 1. It only remains now that the mod BeAM, and the mod Arzuela, fictitious army in Latin America ... and of course the extension of the French army, now, the mod MAFCExt ! Hello everyone, The sun, which took time to show the tip of his nose, is finally back and we thought it was good to give you some news about our mod before the holiday departure of some members of staff of the studio MAF . While we have more than 1 year and a half working on MAFCExt, we sense a certain impatience of some players to see the release of the mod. This impatience is also present in our staff because we are very eager to offer you our baby. Of course, despite this impatience, we do not confuse speed with haste (our beta testers are often there to remind us :rolleyes:). Thus, in order to provide a mod of quality in the shortest time, we decided that this version would be a little "softer" than is expected. The frigate La Fayette, the EC135 and some other undisclosed date addons will be set aside ... for a future release :D In the meantime, here are the surprises of the week : Happy holidays to all !   19. Hello everyone, The work on the MAFCExt advance at full speed. Thus, the beta, being tested in private, had a big update that you could see some of these changes in our previous WIP. Unfortunately, this increase more rapidly than the mod, may be severely hampered in the coming months. P.S : HK416, PAN CdG, VPS, Clark and Rafale from OFrP mod WAIT AND SEE : WORK IN PROGRESS !!!

  24. Currently, to make my _nohq texture, I use the NVIDIA plugin. But it gives me a not clean RVMAT. I would like to know if there is other solution to make these textures or what are the necessary settings of the plugin ? Thank you in advance
