  1. Is there a tutorial somewhere on how to setup/use the camera script?
  2. Wow, I didn't know you could drag a group line between opposing sides. Cool! Thanks for all the help everyone!
  3. Is this possible? I made a whole long set of complicated way-points - but did it for the USMC UH-1Y, when I really wanted to do it for the Opfor Takistani's UH-1H. There is no drop-down for selecting a difference side so I can just change the vehicle which is why I'm asking for a way to copy way-points. Thanks! :)
  4. took me almost two days, but I finally got it done. This map has all the ArmA2 & Operation Arrowhead units vehicles, aircraft, stat weapons, military buildings, and even an entire regiment of USMC & US soldiers who're standing at attention at the end of the mission waiting for inspection. You can do ANYTHING you want with all these vehicles and weapons. You are also free to take the core concept and make some killer battles with it as well which is why it's in the editable format on release. Mission map is here: http://www.jeffpinard.com/All_Units_2.Takistan.zip Here's a youtube video where I fly LITERALLY 4 feet off the deck to give you an amazing look at the toys which await you. mSdEVkg_YuQ&hd=1
  5. I don't think you understood the problem. I need the unit to switch from Blufor to Opfor. What you suggested does not work.
  6. In the target field of the shortcut, make sure you go to the very end, add one space and paste in the above. Those settings are for quadcore. Is that what you have?
  7. Just curious what OS and service pack you're using?
  8. Please re-read our posts (and my thread) and you'll see this isn't some plain old LOD issue. This doesn't happen all the time, can happen in situations where there is a lower amount of VRAM and sampling being done. It's a situation with specific shrubs and trees, not all the vegetation. Looking at 3000 meters of desert and one bush can have the LOD not swap in/out until you've zoomed in/out a bunch of times. But this may be helped or alleviated with the beta patch. Not sure yet.
  9. There was a promo video where BIS was showing off the interface improvements. Anyone know which one I'm talking about perchance?

    Downsampling ArmA 2

Using the wrong term. Down-sampling would make an image look worse as the purpose of down-sampling is to cut data size. I think you meant up-sampling as that would do the opposite: running the game in a higher render resolution which is often unplayable... exactly what Nemesis is referring to.
  11. I'm using the NVidia beta driver and it didn't make any difference to the laggy feeling. I changed some of my framesahead settings which has improved it and ofc course the new OA beta patch makes it MUCH better.
  12. It's not. I'm running everything maxed out now @6000 view distance. Chances are anyone not seeing the issue is running lower visuals so its not as apparent. It's also not happening all the time as it's at specific distances. ---------- Post added at 08:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:01 PM ---------- WOW! If this is true I will be in heaven! Do you happen to have the link where they said this?

    New beta 71900 is up!(OA)

now I'm not too sure. will test more.
  14. Not quite so. I upgraded my rig many months ago primarily for ArmA2 and did a reidiculous amount of work to make sure it woudl optimize my ArmA2 gameplay (research and testing) - there is a linear relationship between cpu speed and #AI. So as you increase your speed, you can increase the # of AI on the battlefield without a hit in performance. Overclocking makes a tremendous difference when you have more than 70 AI on the field. I'm not going to go back and dig up all my old data, but I believe it was something like ~ .3-.7 AI per MHz. Go from 2.66 GHz to 3.66 GHz (1,000 MHz) and you can see why this is such an important piece of the equation. Adding 300-700 AI to a battle with no fps loss is huge. Of course this is assuming you choose reasonable graphic settings for your video card.
  15. What did you mean when you said "I'm running "1" and "2" in NV CPL? Do you run two in SLI or something?
  16. What "rolling demo"? Do you mean the stuff in the background on the main sceen? Also, 2.8 GHz is barely an overclock.
  17. I have one big impression I'm amazed at how well Helo's fly in Takistan. The terrain is wicked and I've yet to see an AI chopper run into the ground. Nice work BIS!

    ARMA 2 OA 1.52 :Bugs

    * Many sounds in the game are quite muted. For example the miniguns on helo's. In ArmA2 they were impressive. In OA it sounds like you have ear mufflers on (though maybe they did that on purpose?). * My mouse becomes agitated in the main game screens (hard to control). This only happened after I changed some control and gameplay options... and I can't get rid of it now.
  19. I need some ideas on how best to design an audio benchmark test. ArmA2 only allowed 16 3d samples at once. OA however, lets you crank that all the way up to 128. So I'm trying to figure out a way to surround the player with ~80 3d sounds, so the difference can be easily heard. So far my tests have not accomplished this. I made a scenario with 80 Blufor and 80 Opfor soldiers, separated them by barriers, turned their accuracy down to zero and couldn't hear a difference. I think it's because M16 shots are 2d sound splats and not 3d positional. Any other ideas? If I can make a decent test then people can see what kind of performance hit they'll have when turning it all the way up.
  20. A few suggestions: * Of course the first one is try a different driver version. * Weird corruptions are often the sign of a dying or defective video card. * Talk to someone running OA with as close to the same card as you and use their exact settings, both in-game and in your video control panel. * There may have been a file corruption. This happened to me when I was playing ArmA2 1.05 and tried to do the downed UH-1Y Armory mission. I failed the mission and the game could not be exited. I had to shut the game down hard and from then on I got errors with the UH-1Y copter. I had to uninstall, delete all my files and configs, and re-install the game. * You didn't copy/paste your old key settings from the OA profile did you? They are different and could cause issues if you took that shortcut. * Watch the temps on your video card to see if they're going to high. * Are you using a 3rd party heat-sink/fan for your card? There are widespread reports 5xxx ATI cards are getting shorted and poor heat transferance with many aftermarket models. * Can you possible take a fraps video to show us?
  21. Cross-posting as you mentioned we're outlining the exact same problem. More people read about it, the easier it will be to understand http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=101402
  22. You have a pretty decent audio chip on that mobo: http://www.conexant.com/products/entry.jsp?id=597 Can you tell me what mission you're runnign where you hear the sound cut out? I'd like to see if I can replicate it.

    ARMA 2 OA 1.52 :Bugs

I always run as admin and it's happened 4x.
  24. I'm just wondering about when using it in singe player mode. Thanks! :)
  25. [quote=Fox '09;1665398 love the new post processing and faces.. :) What graphic settings are you using to generate those pictures in your original post? Your AA looks a bt cleaner than mine and I think we have identical hardware.
