Arma 2 OA is a standalone game. These games require combined ops, which is arma 2 standard combined with arma 2 OA. So you'll need to buy arma 2, either download or dvd or whatever.

You need to script it to have AIM9 missiles and launchers, which you can find in the classnames for A2. It uses addweapon and addmagazine

And then you get everyone saying "OMG why doesn't every game look this good"?! It's all about the crappy post-processing.

Really? You want us to telepathically contact people so we can do MP? You either a) don't play enough, or b) take the game to seriously to realize that's exactly what it is. There are literally thousands of fun interesting and non "2 minute" (how is that even possible) games for arma, the problem is there's nobody to play with. It's what I've been trying to do for years now. In fact, it's even inspired projects like the "Arma Player Center", whole websites dedicated to connecting players for games when if you think about it, having a lobby chat would fix this whole thing. Much more elegantly and simply. This of course would make perfect sense, if anyone were ever on and wanted to play.

There are so many obvious reasons why this isn't the same thing. First, not everyone has IRC or wants to download it. Second, obviously if they don't know what the server is than how are they going to connect to it. This way everyone is in the game lobby no matter what has it. They did this is FSX and you can generally find someone to start a game. It's the best solution to starting up pick-up games. BTW, in my experience every "wishlist" that's ever been made relating to a video game is a "never going to happen but are cool ideas" lists. Obviously if you put it as a 2nd priority it will never be done.

I don't believe the AH64s are equipped with sidewinders by default!

I've never had any experience with map making before but it would be a very cool project to do for this year... hmm...

So I know A2 has support for dual monitors but I don't see any settings to stretch it onto the second screen. Right now, my 2nd screen just displays my desktop.

You could always download/make a different map. Imagine a map purely for orienteering purposes with very few landmarks? It could be many times the size of chernarus as well.

The GPU usage isn't an isolated problem, as usage goes down, so do FPS.

You mean like just about every soldier stationed in Iraq? You really find anything to cling to, right? As if someone spending 3 weeks in a combat zone means they won't be able to spend more time if necessary. Even troops on remote FOBs generally go back once a month.

Actually if it's on par with a windows computer for price, expect it to be much crappier. An equal mac will cost thousands of dollars more.

So after I play for a while (~1hr) I often get a very jumpy game with smooth FPS for a few seconds (25ish) and then 3-5FPS in between. It seemed like a memory problem because after I flush the game it fixes itself for a few seconds, but then goes back. I looked at GPU usage to see if this was the problem, and this is what I got: The high parts are where it's smooth, and the low are the crappy parts. Not sure what the problem is here... Working with a GTX460, i7 950. This was in multiplayer, in SP it hovers around 60% usage normally.

What's your 3D res at?

I don't have these problems at all with a 460. Usually it's around 80-98%

I prefer my guns mild, not spicy.
