  1. It takes place in the armaverse and there'll be conflict. This is going to be awesome.

You are going about your day flying your new chopper in Seattle...

Then suddenly the Chinese invade! You must evacuate wounded national guard soldiers!

Oh no! They don't have a pilot for that AH-64! Guess you need to take over. :D

  2. We see a great potential for future instalments of the Arma series by moving much closer to reign of flight simulators

This is what got me pumped. I will buy Take on Helicopters, both because of my love aviation simulators and to support BIS.

What is even better is that either "ep2" or Arma 3 will include these new features, which hopefully includes a better flight model and render-texture.

I think this is a great decision by BIS.

  3. I havent managed to narrow down the airport from the 'right lense' and the left lense, you can see a reflection of the door of the aircraft.

I have been attempting to do the same thing, I have looked through most regional and the international airport in seattle. I am trying to track it down via the red on top of the hanger on our right lens.

  4. Okay, so to sum up what we've got so far:

1: A dev blog entry named "Taking on a Sharper Focus", posted on March 24th.

2: Inside the blog text, a link hidden in the word "sense", pointing to a Google Street View location in Seattle, WA, close to the Space Needle.

3: A picture of the rear end of an MD 520N helicopter, posted on March 25th.

4: Encoded inside the above picture, three URLs to images that make up a composite picture of the Seattle skyline.

5: A new picture, this time of a guy wearing shades, sitting in what appears to be some type of aircraft.

6: Embedded within the above picture is a protected RAR file, containing a single text file named third_time_lucky.txt, which can be extracted using the password 313. The text file contains a link to a YouTube video of german pilot Charlie Zimmermann flying some pretty daring stunts in a BO-105 helicopter.

    Did I miss anything?

I think you got it all there, good summery.

I suppose you could include the mysteriously photoshopped shades for no apparent reason... Or is that how the password was found?

    Main themes:

    Aviation, namely helicopters

Seattle: it's skyline and the space needle

    Possible themes:

    Reflection

    Focus

    Clarity

    Clouds

    What does it all mean?

  5. Don't know if someone mentioned it yet regarding the readme picture. Assuming that it is an airplane's drop tank, you can draw the conclusion that it is a picture from a museum aircraft. The paint is flawless and if it were an in-service tank why would they spend money on painting a disposable part. Seattle also happens to be home to the Museum of Flight...

AFAIK it has been established that it is the tail of a helicopter that seems to attract women..

  6. You could save system resources by placing tanks in static fortifications and only putting a gunner in them. 1/3 the AI, but I suppose they'd lose some spotting capabilities.

Good idea. It may work, but I also might incorporate some NATO maneuvering.

I'll see how it works out. It will use p'85 mod for sure.

  7. preferably with a mass of tanks and infantry having a presence but a side role

oh, a fair tank battle. no 15 abrams vs 3 T72s piecemeal

    thanks btw

I was thinking a close replica of a 1985 Warsaw pact assault of West Germany. I will do some testing to see how many tanks my system can handle fighting.
