I hear scrap is fetching good prices at the minute :D Ok learning from your vid @ cruise speed apache loop = height loss about 130? ....bit hard to read from small vid. For airshow maybe startheight 140-150 do-able you think?...any more torque available at loop bottom? how much power margin left for safety? make the vid you know you want to lol Scrap wagon standing by. Tomorrow am goin to try some tailslide tests to see what gives. Suspect might be possible as high speed reverse induces auto 180 turn with little risk (unlikely this is realistic) getting the power and nose up might be a different story in vert slide though Gen

Strange but this immediately remind me of a very old German guy I met maybe 30 years ago. He told me about v bombs in wwII (cough he was Ex scientist, married to ex Concert Pianist, very interesting retired couple) being partly powered by Silicon and Ethanol? The Silicon liquid at that time cost £400 per 5 litres. He gave me a small sample as gift, which he had "acquired" many years before, (i suspect at some considerable risk) for my kitchen cupboard drawer "runners". Very funny.... drawers nearly shoot across kitchen when opened, lasted for absolutely years with 1 application! Er any particular piece of skin you have in mind to "accidently" spray it on? lol (my wife asked me to ask:) ) Gen

Well come on then...post those loops. And no starting @ like 1000 metres high. Actually tell you what..... lets see you loop the chinook addon :D Max starting height... hmmm lets say 200m to be realistic .... cough Not tried it yet but got to be worth a laugh. Wish I had a more powerful system so I could do better screen captures, it does my head in. I dont want to be a botanist dammit. In fact I vote for a lumberjack addon to decrease the trees and increase my fps/view distance etc Hmm maybe a woodworm addon would help too? Anyone fancy a bit of online Littlebird formation fun.... see what screen captures we (well you do the screen captures..... my system too slow for good res capture) can come up with?...... TS/Vent/mumble/ingame voip..... whatever. Ok enough non vid post in this thread I'll post another vid when I see the competition:p Gen PS As a 50 year old I don't think I would have phrased it quite like that.... Perhaps... Some Coffin Dodgers may point out your weaker points in order to give you the benefit of their wisdom....... ROFL

Are you an Arma2 "Video Director"? Need a Littlebird Heli pilot for that special shot? Maybe you have a coop squad that needs accurate frontline insertion/medivacs? This vid is a light hearted compilation of just a few of the antics that can be achieved with the very agile Littlebird and a couple?????;) of hours practice. Ok seriously I have 10mg connection (UK) and am available for online "Filming" or coop fun. PM me with interesting offers. For Filming you will need to do the capture (at a better res than I can get),as fraps brings my system almost to it knees. PS...Feel free to have a go at bettering my heli "antics" on vid, I throw down the gauntlet... Always up for a laugh :) (I have a several more backup antics ready to go so bring it on lol) Gen <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jebBbbCajDs&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jebBbbCajDs&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

lol Hit the nail on the head, 8 years and still "hooked" :D I have probably spent the last 2 months having fun just with Helis and still I haven't covered loads of what is possible! Think my favorite is LittleBird in the Ace mod. Can land it in the most ridiculous places (Check your back garden, roof, Top of chimney stack, Mast tower, If there's a littlebird in it or on it, its me lol) been blasting through the bases of the docks cranes @ 130K with only 1 metre clearance that's an a** clencher lol Try blasting through the Frame structure with roofs (sorta barns without walls) thats a bit tight, the old adrenalin fairly kicks in I can tell ya. Or what about approaching hangers at speed, getting into the hanger, 180 turn and back out again, great for fine control practice. Radio masts are fair game too (just don't try and get out after "parking" rofl) ---------------------------------- Actually if anyone has a fast system and fraps or whatever maybe we could get together and put together a vid just for the fun of it. (unfortunately I can't get a decent framerate when I run fraps, so am stuffed for screen captures). PM me if anyone is interested.TS,Vent,Mumble or whatever, or we can use Voip in game (you will need ace mod for Littlebirds) Maybe this is of some use to some Arma "Directors" ----------------------------------- Gen -

I agree with prof in prev post, you can spend hours, days and months in the editor and still never have 2 scenarios the same. Just cos I was bored I had a look for you on user made missions that are available (free) on just the first 2 sites I looked at.. Armaholic and Armed assault info websites. There are other sites, but they were the first 2 I looked at for you. OK here is what is available right NOW today march 2010. (new missions are being made EVERY day!!) Armed assault info site. 9 Campaigns (a couple are lite versions of others so say 6 campaigns ish) 65 single player missions 122 multiplayer missions Armaholic site 12 Campaigns (again some may be lite versions of others so call it 9 not 12) 210 single player missions 302 multiplayer missions 75 mission packs IE bundled groups of missions SO before you even make a single mission of your own thats all sitting there ready to go for you..... free! (obviously some missions on 1 site may be also on the other site, but hopefully you get an idea of scale... mission making in Arma is a BIG thing that just keeps on getting bigger and better on a daily basis) I haven't even touched on mods that do everything from small tweaks to adding units/ vehicles/ new islands/ complete changes of game eg a sheep breeding financial game lol etc etc. The list is just huge, the quality is pretty stunning in many many cases. In all the years I buy games this one dvd disk is the smallest part, its the community stuff (by the bucket load) that makes this game continue to grow/ thrive and keep on getting better. Even if the shipped Campaign was the worst on the planet (which it isn't) the sheer YEARS of fun and ongoing Community input to constantly improve the game and add missions, new units, islands, tech capabilities, are the best value I ever got from a single game. I play on and off for 8 years now and STILL I am not bored, thats some achievement, I take my hat off to all the modders, modellers, mission makers and very bright scripters etc. Obviously BIS has major role and patches have been made available right through the 8 years of series from origonal Operation Flash days. Ok enough you get the Idea HTH Gen -

Ok my underspec machine is Windows xp sp3 AMD athlon 64fx My graphics cards 2 nvidia 7600 GT now working in SLI mode (these are below min spec for ARMA2) After a ridiculous number of hours trying to get Arma2 playable on an under spec machine finally I have it acceptable! Not perfect but playable. Maybe this gets game playable for someone else too, so here is info! With a heck of a lot of experimenting I now get 20-56 fps and at long last this game is playable. No promise but try this if everything else has failed and you have 2 sli cards. Get these 2 free apps, they work well in my experience and all you have to put up with is a nag screen to upgrade to paid version. (probably worth paying but I don't have the money currently. http://www.iobit.com/advancedwindowscareper.html Install this free app then run the smart ram section before starting arma2 to free ram. There are some other handy utils in the app but they aren't needed for Arma2 stuff. http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html This free app just temporarily unloads any non essential background apps with little user intervention. Works pretty well, pretty much one button click and its done. ( one more click after playing the game restarts all the stopped services etc) Ok into Nvidia control panel now Its up to you if you change these as global settings or as specific to arma2 prog settings, use which ever tab, your choice. Nvidia Control Panel Global settings Anisotropic filtering 16x Antialiasing setting none Antialiasing transparency off Extension limit On Max pre-rendered frames 8 multi-disp/mixed GPU accel Single display Sli performance Nvidia recommended Texture filtering anisotropic mip filter opt On Texture filtering anisotropic sample opt On Texture filtering Negative LOD bias Clamp Texture filtering Quality High Performance Texture filtering Trilinear opt On Thread optimization Auto Triple Buffering On Vertical sync Force OFF NB I have set all Nvidia Program settings of Arma2 to read from global tab... your choice ---------------- In arma2 config file (found in your windows user docs folder). (In my case C:\Documents and Settings\name of user\My Documents\ArmA 2\arma2.cfg) reduce all resolution sizes by about 10 to 20 pixels. Ie it will effecively be running windowed but very near full screen. NB for some odd reason this single action almost Doubles frame rate!!?? Important note With experiment I found that it is important to reduce BOTH width and Height or the game renders are "fuzzy" due to scaling. Get out the old windows calculator and divide normal screen res (in my case 1280*1024) by the same amount in my case I divide by 1.03 and with little screen size loss have MAJOR (like nearly double??) FPS improvement) view distance to 1200 (experiment after altering the other settings) all normal except shadows OFF anisotropic OFF (nvidia app already controlling from your prev settings) Post effects OFF End result fps 20-56 with 2 under min spec cards in SLI single screen mode Hope this helps someone out there. REf SLi I am using 2 underspec identical cards. Turning on SLI most definitely took the framerate from totally unplayable to do-able. Doesn't double fps but approx 1.5/1.7 better fps than single card. Using the nvidia sli "workload" indicator shows sli pretty well max SLI throughput 90% of time ingame (sky uses small resource so looking up in flight sli load drops bigtime) HTH PS I just installed latest Nvidia drivers and have strange issue. Am now getting best ever fps when "flying" ( up to 50 fps at times, dropping to 20/30 flying over dreaded orange trees, BUT when I am on ground as grunt on foot, the backside of FPS now plummet to 9 fps at times. GGrrhh. Never been remotely this low prior to driver update.. tried tweaking all various settings but no improvement. Very odd never had THIS low fps like ever. hmm Also something odd with ingame addon fps counter now. Hard to explain, it's like its misreporting Fps, almost like it only sees 1 card of the 2 when SLI turned on, am still experimenting with this. Gen -

hmm to be fair I already gave my goodpoints... but now my bad points, to be balanced. Normally I have little interest in SP campaigns, but am giving the one shipped with Arma2 a blast. Now bearing in mind I could be considered a fan of BIS IE I purchase ofp, res, arma1, arma2. But in about the 4th (ish) arma2 campaign mission I am chasing about the country looking for some high ranking bad dudes with very little info as to where they are. Point 1 its a bit like hunt the needle in the haystack, and gets tedious pretty quick. Maybe I bought cluedo by mistake? Point 2 and this one drives me crazy. My 3 ai decided to go inside the keep of the castle. They will not come out, I try everything; return to formation, standing, crawling, advance when at door. etc etc... but no they aint coming out, the closest i get is one climbing the stairs even when in the doorway looking out,and told to advance or move in the compass direction he is already facing IE straight out of the doorway. very exasperating;... I got so teed off I tried for 20 mins and still no luck. Frankly I cant be arsed to restart the mission and replay an hour to get back to where I was. The AI in ofp were not exactly rocket scientists, but at least they could be got out of buildings. (maybe this is why there are so few enterable buildings in arma2?hmm or is it cos if you walk sideways out of a door to give cover your weapon jams in the door and you can't move sideways lol Has my AI put on weight as he has got older?) Even as a long time user this is very tedious as now I have to backtrack some 1Hour just to have ANY team left for the whole of the remaining campaign. To be fair if I was new to the "series" I would seriously question the likelyhood of me wanting to continue the campaign, and at the least would now be no longer positive, but moving to dissappointed/dissheartened with what I have purchased. Luckily I have a history with BIS software so will continue, but the campaign is now off limits to me it's bugs have effectively left me with little trust in what the rest of the campaign will dump on me. So if I was a new user this would be the potential turning point of interest and faith in my purchase, (and I am what about 3 hours only into the campaign) given a few more problems and I can quite see how new users may be hard to keep. If they arent very quickly into online team play etc then from what I can see they are going to struggle to remain interested due to some fundamental problems. Even joining online coop is tricky for a "newb" as without a fair amount of offline practice/learning they are going to struggle to learn the ropes fast enough to not be a millstone around any teams neck. (no offence to new users intended, we have all been there) I guess for me I could summarise it as. If the Campaign has big showstooper bugs like this I fail to see how a large proportion of new users won't just give up, shrug and simply not purchase another BIS product in the future. After all the Campaign is a large part of what they have to work with initially as a new user. Thats a real shame for the new user/ BIS/ Us the longer term members of the community. OK said my piece I'm off to shoot my medic now for disobeying orders and letting me die, due to his ramboing rather than letting the rest of the ai cover and him actually follow orders and heal me before I die! (don't remember this problem in ofp?) Maybe I should make missions where all the squad are medics lol I keep the faith, but I fail to see how new users have much hope of becoming "converts" with the initial impression they may be getting. (for some odd reason the recent Toyota car recalls spring to mind?) Gen :( -

You mean they "BIS" provide an open sandbox type toolset, then provide lots of info on how to use it (free), then give some example missions, and then provide some free tools to further extend the sandbox? Oh and then they continue to support and improve the sandbox. I'm sure thats what you must have meant? For the price I think I rather like that they don't "stay the hell out of " my way, it's why I am a repreat customer @ NoRailgunner Good list Specifically add to point 2... a medic who comes when called, not when HE decides it's ok. I'll make the decisions on risk thanks :) @ Avibird... I think the modern etiquette is coffee, biscuits and group hugs now lol -

Gen_Protection replied to goldkid80's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
@Deadfast... Yeh I know but it gave me a laugh writing it. My only concern if there was an arma 3. Could my rig handle it? I struggle with this already in ARMA2 and it will be some time before any upgrade, due to recession and lack of work here in the UK. Would be nice to see more ingame user tweaks that encompass some more slightly lower spec comps. Much as I love the game I would struggle to justify an upgrade JUST to run an ARMA3 Other than the above reservation I give my vote firmly to BIS based on proven track record since early OFP days. (releasing a little later with more polish would be nice though) Guess its always a $$/time/quality balance. Gen NB YAY I just passed my final "you are a tower crane driver" qualification. At least now I am a fully qualified unemployed crane driver ROFL. -

I was in a squad for a brief while where I was expected to "Guard" my camp from non existent enemies for a whole evening (real time), and with all that spare time getting "real time" bored I never once wished I could be melting snow for my flask... guess I must be getting old and senile and missing the point of this game eh? If I wanted a game where I need to maintain my weapon, (in any indepth way) I would join a shooting club. If I wanted to build bridges I would buy some Lego (or borrow my daughters) like building/guarding your camp...... warfare + other mods setting up the tripwires..... mods out there transporting rations and ammunition...... In large missions ammunition does have to be transported.. Down to the mission makers choice, but its available by land or air. Rations.... ? I don't want to play "the Sims" I mean do I have to tell "me" ingame I need to go potty as well? Hmm I will reassign my P hotkey to ...well you get the idea :) planning and setting up camp defenses.... already available camouflaging vehicles.... buy an airfix model vehicle/aeroplane kit? If I wanted to paint I would use PS or whatever. Ok I exaggerate for effect.... so you miss a button to drape camo net on item, truck or whatever? er get real lol you honestly saying game sux cos you can't press ctrl d for drape, and alt ctrl D fo drape losely cos that other way just aint cutting it for ya? lol carrying heavy mines.... At 50 years old I am goin to use ingame transport thanks. Guess I could simulate this by sitting at my pc with a rucksack full of sand on my back, that should get me INTO the game more. (and make it a MUCH better game) encountering civilians.... er you already can securing them so that they cant hurt you or themselves.... hostage missions, but missions can already be made to disarm them Ie Surrender. learning some real army values.... coop=teamwork/discipline, chain of command, friendship loyalty etc etc see squads/ clans for all that and more. digging trenches..... Ok I give ya that one, but as you are no doubt aware even from OFP days the engine at it's core was never designed to go below the ground level. Am I going to rush out and buy something just cos it has trenches in it..... er no. setting up communications.... I have enough trouble with teamspeak lol. but if ya want another button to press after you set your radio backpack on the ground, I'm sure there is an amateur Radio club near you that can quench your desire for button pressing (for a lot more money than ARMA2) Swampy areas.... Man it takes long enough to walk anywhere as it is, I aint getting any younger ya know! OK this is all in good humour/tongue in cheek, but you exaggerate so far I felt the need to poke some fun. My genuine suggestion, get ace mods and start making missions, you will be able to cover 80% of what you mention without waiting for the "next" game. PEACE... I'd rather see you in this game, your waiting is self inflicted Gen;) Not worried about trolling I had a laugh writing this TIMRICESE reply.... very good I laughed at this. Very to the point, I second his vote for you to point stuff out for us on the sweeping generalisation front :) ought to get most stuff covered then! Ok I am off to reassign my go pee hotkey.... ctrl P for in bushes, alt P for on grass, Ctrl alt P For one handed peeing, whilst holding radio cos I aint got a "set up communications" button, so I have to hold the darn radio.... man this game sux lol :) -
In case it's of help to anyone here is an alternative app (free) So far it seems to work pretty well with XP. The app is called Game Commander 2, and can have different "sets" of keybinds saved on a per app/game basis. IE different voice commands for diff keybinds saveable as "profiles" per each different game. Offers voice activated/ hold key to speak, or tap to speak then tap to stop speaking.. Hold to speak seems to work closest to what I would expect. Still tweaking some of the delays between stacked keypresses for more complicated "serial" commands, Eg select team red then do something team red, but so far it seems to be a nice free app that does a pretty good job, with little to no voice training. This app has been around for awhile so doesn't officially support xp, but no problems to report, might even be worth trying on Vista or whatever, I believe it's directx based? http://www.tucows.com/preview/364262 Gen

Think I have just about every sub sim over the years, inluding all the SH series, some sims dating back to amiga days. Was looking forward to this one, but the practicalities are that I may not online for a few months in a bit. So if I need to be online just to play a singleplayer game, it won't be feasable. So potential lost sale to me for sure. Shame was looking forward to it. Had a load of problems with Steam and a messed up user account in the past, it meant for months I couldn't even play the single play stuff on a game I had paid for. Not going that route again, no way. Gen

One small issue currently with Armoury heli challenges. Currently a few challenges are get to this point or height, or speed within so many seconds. The problem can be you may be starting on the ground, and sometimes not even have the engine on yet. So by the time you gain enough RPM to take off 3/4 of the challenge time has already been wasted, making the challenge impossible to achieve. I realise the user can decline the challenge, just seems a script check, perhaps for speed/ Rpm or something, within some heli challenges may make the armoury more slick and feel a bit smarter to the user. Keep up the great work Cheers Gen

Why is this game not more popular?
Gen_Protection replied to LockDOwn's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Perhaps it might help if some of the amazing mission makers in the community put together a fairly comprehensive set of missions that more fully ease the new player into this "game". A starter pack if you like. With a bit of luck this may get new players more comfortable with what the heck the need to know. At least that would be one hurdle out of the way? Personally I think the sp missions that ship with ArmaII are too minimalisitic, and barely cover what is the core knowledge needed to get an early fast start to getting into the "game". Ease the learning curve, make it much more comprehensive, and gradual. Might help? Have to agree that encryption of missions is in my opinion not the way to go. But I CAN see how it would be very annoying to spend months writing/tuning a mission only for it to be ripped and altered without any credit etc. Perhaps the way to go is some sort of embedded author sig or some such? Not an easy one that. The big one for me as an aspiring scripter is with encrypted missions how do I learn new things. However it should be the mission makers choice whether they share their "secrets", it is their hard work after all. Must say it is a shame that mission makers have problems getting enough people to test out their missions. All I can add to that is as a keen coop player I would be willing to join in testing coop mp missions. I have a reasonable bit of spare time at the minute, a 10meg connection, and live in UK, gimme a shout if I can help out. Teamspeak/ Ventrilo/ whatever I can sort it for online testing as required. There does seem to be a dilution of player nos per server now compared with hayday of OFP, perhaps its simply due to such a large no of servers. Whats this shambles that is my AI medics. I can be right beside a medic calling for help and numerous patches later they still ignore my requests, thats SO annoying and was not a problem in OFP RES etc? Ai vehicle pathfinding always seemed to bit a bit IFFY, but for sure it's at the worst level since OFP was released. I can see this being very off putting for those new to the scene, it drives me nuts, and I am a die hard "fan" of the game. As Rick said in the prev post POLISH POLISH POLISH, I say Czech, Czech Czech ! My opinion of the Campaign is that from memory it has more glitches than any of Campaigns that were shipped with OFP Res etc. Shame and counter productive. Maybe its back to the same problem as user mission makers have... a lack of testers to fine tune before public release? Gen -
Why is this game not more popular?
Gen_Protection replied to LockDOwn's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Interesting thread. Iv'e been addicted to this series since the earliest release of OFP all those years ago. I have a suspicion that one of the issues which holds back ArmaII popularity is actually also one of its strongest points too. A double edged sword. The issue... MODS.... Gasp, horror... stand by for flaming but wait and read on. THEN reply. First off let me make something REAL clear. I totally want Modding of Arma to thrive, I have the utmost respect for the sheer effort, skill, and dedication to all the guys who put shed loads of hours into some utterly amazing addons/ mods to this game. Long may it continue! BUT and it's a big but.... Look at it from a newcomers point of view.. Almost every online game they want to join requires them search for an addon, then download it, and then return to a server before they can even play one game. Then to make it harder they may have to Download teamspeak or whatever, and then they may not be able to join in progress but have to further wait for the next restart. And then they may join a server where no-one even speaks to each other. Is it any wonder a lot of new players fade out of the scene so quickly (and tell their mates who then don't buy the game) For all but the most diehard that is a complete pain, and extremely counter productive to gaining more popularity. BUT these great mods are also the lifeblood of Arma as they were for OFP, they increase the quality of the game and they effectively keep the game fresh and more interesting and enjoyable for MUCH much longer than your average retail game. There needs to be some integrated universal way of getting addons into game. Let me give you my personal experience in arma1 and I am an addict. It got to point that almost every online game required yet another addon just to play. Downloading 5+ addons a week became totally tedious. It got totally out of hand. Spending every night downloading some change of uniform or whatever just got tedious in the extreme. At times the mods were difficult to find etc etc. Add that to the idiots Realtime building houses etc ontop of players ingame, so trapping them, the TKing that became widespread and the game became just too much of a pain to be bothered with.... and I am an addict!!!! I have no doubt that good quality mods are critical for the longevity of Arma, what I question is how to make the process of acquiring them painless and straight forward/ integrated. I must add the comment that for Bohemia to not have directly addressed this after almost 8 years does surprise me. I am aware of sickboy's app, but it doesn't appear? to be universal, and is yet another piece of knowledge that a newcomer has to find out about. Some other stuff I throw into the ring for your comments... One of the deciding factors on a public server for good game experience, is the ability of someone to step up as a strong leader and actually show some leadership. I have seen this happen on ocassion, and even the rambos began to see how much more enjoyable the game could be if played in organisation and where the teamwork/communication was good. Look how many people in Real life join the forces, look what age they are, they know they are going to get ordered to work as a team, and they still join? The other side effect of this I saw, was that when some loners saw how much more they got out of the game they started asking for nicks etc so they could play with the same outfit again. I have nothing against guys playing for high score/bragging rights etc, but I suspect it is the players who get into team play who continue to support and enjoy the game for much longer, and not get bored. Welcome guys to teamplay servers, show them the light, let them see what they are missing. Ok It's not everyones cup of tea, but without the opportunity to see real teamwork in operation they have no way of knowing what they might actually really enjoy (and be very good at) The final point I make is quality and thought that goes into missions. Over the years there have been some utterly amazing missions made. There are scripters, mission editors, mod makers etc out there who have done (and continue to do) some pretty darn amazingly clever stuff with OFP/Arma. But everyone has to start somewhere and there are also some frankly woeful missions out there too. PLEASE PLEASE if you are hosting missions for download, review them, rate them etc. If you make missions PLEASE have a briefing.. If you are bright enough to write missions you can reasonably be expected to write a briefing, even if English not first language use online translator. To sites offering missions for dload.. Please make sure they have been played and what mods they need. The number of missions I have dloaded that reckon no mod needed, only to find a mod is needed is a complete pain. Its all about making the experience for new players as smooth as is practical. We all know that Arma/OFP is not an average game, and takes more than average time to get the hang of, give newcomers a break they have enough to learn as it is. Gen PS I have seen VBS2 and it's quality etc, Bohemia is totally capable of incredible stuff, for me the patching for ArmaII is going down the same route as OFP.. I have seen you guys capability, so for me this says conscious decision to release ARMAII in condition that was NOT good. I wish you would rethink this approach, this dissappoints me on personal level as longterm customer. I want you guys to thrive, not get slated in reviews and damage sales! -

This poll has given me a load of laughs!! I'll be 51 this year.. Even some of you 30 somethings refer to us high scoring (on the age scale) players as near enough coffin dodgers, teatering on the brink lol. Should I be measuring up and pre ordering a box with nice brass handles?..Very funny! My theory is that a lot of the higher age range players have continued on into ArmaII from OFP days, hence the age shift of the upper range by about 7 or 8 years. IE since ofp was first released. We all just got aolder ... sheesh Personally I hope to continue playing Bohemia releases as long as they keep releasing well made, high quality realtime team games. I highly suspect that in 20 years I will still struggle to shoot a barn door in a fast paced firefight... but if it's a heli drop into a tight spot you are after I am yer man. Patience over speed I guess. I also guess that I will always be behind in the constant quest for more powerful hardware to run Bohemia games well, but that's just something I guess most of us just have to learn to live with. It is a pity though. I just find it much harder to starve my kids these days to buy hardware rather than food, must be getting senile or soft or something ;0 For exercise, I climb 25 floors of ladders every day just to get to my work. And as for worrying about penis size, you guys are lucky as now everything is metric so centimetre sounds more than inches :) My missus had tears of laughter streaming down her cheeks at the earlier comments on this particular topic. I enjoy playing as part of a good co-op team with all ages. Its all about teamplay for me, attitude, communication, joint effort is where this "game" shines, age is just a number. Better go, I think I hear my nurse coming to give me my medication. I saw her with a bottle of embalming fluid last week, I'm hoping it's for the cat, but I'm sleeping with one eye open this week just in case. Gen

Well I never thought all those years ago, here I would be still addicted to Bohemia's software. Dammit I am 50 now, I should be cured!!! (or nearly dead at least... I mean are there any other coffin dodgers still playing this or am I officially supposed to be past it now?, I saw Arma2 last week and I just HAD to buy it! Some sort of compulsive dissorder thing or something lol. Nurse, Nurse the voices in my head made me buy it :) If any of the old DC10 "clan" are out there I would LOVE to hear from them!! We had some awesome coop teamwork going, I miss it like crazy. Other shooters never cut it for me, OFP/Arma STILL in a league of their own. DC10 coop extrordinaires. Anyway it's great to be back, now I just have to get this pesky mouse setup sorted so I can actually hit a barn door lol.... nothings changed lol I am still a better Heli pilot than marksman ggrrhh OK I am outta here nurse says I need a lot of sleep after all the purchase excitement of the weekend. Cheers Gen
