  3. Another thread by someone who clearly has no concept of engines and the requirements for Arma. It seems so easy to just pick up and move to a new platform. Reality is soooo different.

    So it's been a while since I've checked this thread. The fact that you, nord, have to retexture the islands yourself...does this mean the BIS Devs aren't working on a fix? I thought some of the Devs were looking into this issue?

    Say goodbye to the Ghosts - witness the dawn of Viper Team a multi-national force established to destroy a $2 billion cocaine trade. Hi folks I got some inspiration recently to get back into mission editing and have decided to do a remake of an old campaign I did from Ghost Recon. The campaign centred around the Golden Triangle - narcotics trade in Asia and the Ghosts efforts to bring down the Drug Ring. Same idea as CIA and Delta Force operating in Colombia. However, this campaign will take place on an island off West Africa cracking a cocaine trade- landscape being jungle in most places with some dry areas to the sth-east. Yes, I'll be using Lingor for these missions. But the enemy will be a blend of African and Sth American forces. Sound far fetched? Not really - take a look at this (the story that sparked my desire to mission create again) - http://www.thenational.ae/news/world/africa/latino-drug-lords-find-african-allies Now I don't know if I'll use the term Ghosts anymore (even though it's been my trademark in mission making for Arma to date) but the style of mission will be the same. Special forces operations, multiple objectives generally to be completed in the order you see fit (plenty of replayability). There will be some stealth, demolitions, rescues and captures, all the good stuff and nothing boring. Battleground extended for these missions to radius of about 2000 metres max - so more area to cover without being painfully boring. I am reworking some of my Island Thunder missions so you will have similar feel but totally new mission objectives, insertions - just new and better. So far I have about 5-6 missions in a good state but will take my time to make sure this is the best of my creations so far. Would love some assistance creating the splash screens (paas) - PM me and I'll tell you what I need. My mate wombat50 from GR.Net has already offered to do a new promo trailer to get the drool forming at edge of mouth. :) 12-man coop campaign in Arma 2 vanilla first, then will modify from there eventually into Arma3.   11. Hey guys, I've played coop in Ghost Recon and Arma now for almost a decade usually with international clans who were serious players but more chilled. The issue has always been time zones. I want to get a casual group of serious players together who live in Oz or NZ. No Chain of Commandor Learner Plates BS that some local clans seem to like. No. I want guys who play serious in game, take turns to run missions, respect the leaders decisions ingame and just have some good clean fun. Let me know who's interested here or PM me. Lightspeed.

    ughghg finally got mission 4 updated in new format. what a pain in the a$$ but worth it in the end. the next 4 or 5 missions should be easier now. ---------- Post added at 11:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:36 PM ---------- and mission 5,6 and 7 are basically ready - I had made them previously but never released so now I will. :)

    I've spent the last week rewriting some briefs in a new template which works better for MP - thanks to advice from CiA. Ensures all JIP players get updated briefs so everyone stays in touch with current and completed objectives. Also the whole brief and other bits and pieces are just a lot cleaner all round. I also have the splash screens done thanx to a friend of mine. And also the Viper-1 logo to represent this new era of Ghosts.
  15. Playing coop or any mission or that matter, you can't read the mission brief until you have chosen the player slot and moved to next screen. Ideally, the briefing should appear before you have to select the player role so you know which units would be best taken into the mission.

    Welcome to the next GR campaign which takes place on the Podagorsk Peninsula, a small piece of land which sits just south of Moldova on the edge of the Black Sea. Moldova, much like Georgia, declared it's independence from Russia in the early 1990's and was recognised as such by the UN in 1992. Again similar to Southern Ossetia in Georgia, there exists an autonomous region known as Transnistria, which refuses to be part of greater Moldova and continues to declare it's allegiance to Russia. The Transnistrians occupy the region east of the river Dniester in Moldova all the way to the Ukrainian border to the east and heading south to the peninsula called Podagorsk. It is from here that Transnistrian rebels have commenced attacks against the legitimate government and it appears they may be receiving military support from Russia itself, who has not been shy in declaring it's disapproval at both Moldova and it's neighbour, Ukraine, declaring their independence. Some UN officials believe that Russia has an ulterior motive for supporting the rebels and ultimately intends to reclaim the small European state of Moldova as it's own, and subsequently, use this occupation to launch a dual-pronged attack on Ukraine from both Moldova and Russia on the eastern border of Ukraine. We cannot allow the Trinistrians to succeed with their operations but we have to play it carefully to. The last thing we want is to give Russia an easy excuse to launch a full-scale attack on Moldova. We must conduct our operations covertly, and as such, we will be using the Ghosts who performed so successfully in Georgia.     4 missions ready so far. 2 tested with the team at CiA and some minor tweaks implemented. Moving away from the Ghosts, I have settled on Viper Recon and working on a new logo now. Lingor 1.5 has opened new mission locations up.

    This is exactly the point. We play a lot of coop but don't always have numbers to fill the slots. Knowing the briefing would enable us to pick the best of the available positions.

    Um, mission 1 to mission 8 :) I think it goes compound, swamp, farm, docks, village, castle, fuel and airport. But don't do them without me! I've never actually played them through!!
