That or DICE is just having fun messing around with IW. Hell, they had a few Respawn (ex-IW) guys playing BF3 at E3 :D

My favorite ones are that X game copies Y game because both M16's look the same (or another widely used US Weapon) Another one (related to BF3) was "4 man squads, BF is about big squads, no commander? Not BF at all" Then someone brings up BF1942 which had no squad system. Plus, commander was only in 2 of the 8 games. Or 11 if you count BFP4F, heroes and Codename: Eagle :D

Because the BI community wouldn't flame any game, especially if it started with the prefix OFP. :p

By the way, there's a live e3 feed here : http://www.ustream.tv/battlefield3 It's got some good Multiplayer footage and interviews so far (With people like Karl Magnuss Troedsson & Other DICE employees) But it's being hosted by ODG, and their skills at interviewing is .. under par at best. They also repeat the trailers (more than once ...) throughout.

I know, I've just had my run ins with people misunderstanding what I've tried to say before.

I understand what you're saying, but like others - I do not necessarily agree with your ideas. Yes, But looking at ArmA's UI, It's not much better in it's current state ...

I've always found ArmA's online hard to get into, in nearly all aspects. I enjoy playing around with a few friends in COOP, but had horrendous trouble online. Whilst the gameplay of games like BF are not what you would want in ArmA, it's online is a lot easier to get into - by that I mean it's easier to find and start playing on servers. BIS don't need to copy another game, but they really do need to rethink the UI (at least) for multiplayer, to make it easier to find and select a suitable server for what you want. I don't think adding a large "play now" button will fix the problem. But there's certainly a big gap where there's "room for improvement" regarding online play.

Oh now i've not got a pentium anymore you've found something else to moan about instead? :p Actually the first thing to go back onto my HDD is ArmA2. The GTS250 isn't too bad, I'll upgrade inevitably along with the other bits I didn't upgrade (like Optical Drives and the HDD), but that can wait. By the end of the year, perhaps this system will be able to play BF. :)

I think most people here secretly have alot more time on Mw2 than they'd like to admit. It wasn't a terrible game, Mw3 wont be terrible in any respect past the fact that it will be the same game as it was a few years ago. The real nail in the coffin with CoD is how they treat the PC fanbase. Which is sometimes saddening. They certaintly have tried more than Activsion to make something different. I mean seriously, look at Mw2, BlackOps and then the Mw3 trailers. Whilst CM failed miserably to deliver, they did attempt something different. This however - isn't even trying.

My opinion on the futuristic setting is - It's good to see BIS just having some fun with their series. Experimenting a bit. We all know there's gonna be mods and missions that will end up being modern day, so i'm not worried about that. The campaign might be able to have some creative licence this way, Like with CWC.

Yeah, This looks intresting. /sarcasm Unless they've given CoD an overhaul, it'll be the same rehashed gameplay and engine and yawn .. I hate to say it - but even CM tried to make something new, Activision doesn't even go that far.

I hate how BIS announce this ArmA after I've already got my new PC in the works. :D it'll be funny to see what CM come up next for OFP. Perhaps for the next game they'll boast about having guns! Not surprised, You lot were right to bash it. It appears CM didn't learn.
