  1. OFDR was a decent game overall, they just over-hyped it to the ends of the earth, shoved OFP tags on it. Then dumped it into the market. At least BIS can do the whole cycle properly. I mean, BIS are still releasing patches for A2 .....

    The CCTV really shows them being quite nervous, whilst the act was carried out well, they were far from professionals. And, why do threads like these always end up being totaly off-topic :S

  8. Nice sig myshaak ;) Yes, concept renders only at this point, pretty crappy really. Wasting the little resources given to them on getting the dev team to work on pre-rendered images.... The forums so far just has gone the same route as DR at this point, Devs totaly ignoring community... Sion/James/Tim have disapeared from CM forums (the 3 main guys in charge of RR), and absolutly noone knows jack-shit about the game, and its only speculation from the little they tell us. Sounds familiar..... :( And for your information, most of my posts on the CM forum span over the Mission Editing zone, which (sadly) used to be more active than the rest of the forum put together. ---------- Post added at 07:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:43 PM ---------- Yes, I know CM are way to protective over their engine, and should really release tools for the customer to edit the game to some extent. They wont even give us that. And the DR editor is "decent", the #1 reason I still stay on DR forums is for the people there that want to learn that kind of language, and have the time to sit down and have people teach them it. Im not some mindless troll on there "kissing CM's ass", im helping and learning from, people on the ME side of it...
  9. What? CM themselves may be pretty sh*te at making good games, but they have the right tools, and the money.
  10. Yeah, if none of the above works, try reinstall... And yes, when playing on a computer, there are hundreds of thousands of things that the user has access to and can change and upgrade at his will which is not allowed on the consoles, we suffer the occasional problem for the many extras it brings to this platform. ;)
  11. Just nothing? Try reinstalling the game. And how exacly did you get CO? Did you have A2 and OA, then combine them. Or buy CO standalone?
  12. When you say its not launching, tell us exacly what happens. Does it start to load, get to a black sceen then just CTD, does it just not do anything, does the loading bars appear, get to a certain point and just lock up??

  14. Yea, all the of above could be fixed to some extent with mod tools, but selling it off as OFP and "the true successor" wasn't a good move either. Just an idea, more advanced than the Secops module, but still keeping its style ( I do like the secops module :p ) Either way, They have got alot of things to pull off with RR to make 1/2 of their fanboys buy them, I do like playing DR, perhaps not as much as other games like A2, but its still alot better than other games out there. Anyway, too many things CM do wrong, too bad BIS&CM don't get together again, BIS devs using CM tools would just be one heck of a game :(

Most probably the biggest downfall in DR's whole episode was the fact CM never released mod-tools, to keep their precious engine untouched, comapnies need to trust their markete more, like BIS (who release the full works of their modding tools) They're probably the most important part of a games success, just look at ACE, none of that would have been possible without mod tools!

Seems the forums are pretty quiet for anyone but CM's Community Manager posting (bad news mostly), If Sion doesn't start pulling out some good features Im not sure ANYONE will buy it. I guess they will start announcing good things at a later date, I guess all we have is bad news to come, Would be nice to hear some good news about RR actually.
  19. Templar's .xml hacks that changed the post proccessing and lighting effects, the tone-mapping, the AI... etc, well he had one that made the entity limit 80 as well. ;) That man is the one-man army behind whatever little there is on DR.

  23. Don't you think trying to find floors in a game, from magazine articles from OXM AND IGN!! about a game that hasn't got gameplay footage thats still a year from release a bit childish? ...
  24. True, thats very true ^^ Lets hope CM at least put nice graphics on this tactical FPS if its not going to go all out on OFP style gameplay :rolleyes:
