CodeMasters main problems are: They do not entrust the dev teams with money and/or engine. And are limited to what they have/can do. This is where companies like BIS excell, their own engine, they fix any bugs they can find, etc etc They seem to spend more time/money/care on selling their game rather than actually making it good, i.e. marketing/PR They've got some of the worst Dev-Community communication ive seen, the devs need to be more involved with the community. As well here, BIS are pretty good at this, too. Even BIS' CEO posts here about what they're doing. The highest you will see in CM forums is Community Liason and their community manager (Helios)
  2. The whole money and contract scheme looks good. The idea of betting it in "wager" gamemodes is also a nice addition. They just need to stop making the game so un-balanced and so, boring. Mw2 was un-balanced as hell, nothing seemed to work. It was kinda things just shoved together to get money. Worse than any game ive seen. Even DR wasn't that bad.

  10. I think the guns and vehicles beaing weathered down and muddy to some extent was good, its like they spend ages getting all the right textures, wearing them down. Then entirly scrapped it all for the final cut.

  13. Fair point there. Just 'cause it says "military advisor" doesn't mean they're from the military, it could just mean 1 guy from the dev team who googled stuff, then branded him their "military advisor" for al lwe know.
  14. Hmm, Yeah, you're right. It does have some distinctive A4 series characteristics though. Perhaps its CM's version of a "half-arsed job"

  16. Hey avibird. :) ArmA would be great for consoles, thats true. Too bad publishers don't take risks. They just like to stick to BF/COD worlds. p.s. Notice how my join date was early decemeber 2009, I didn't only just join after the announced red river. Please remember that people.

I can't wait for them to release more images, so we can start playing "spot the gun thats not in the game" Yeah, They show us a high poly image, with high-res textures, I wonder if they will bring out any images with proper normal mapping or bump mapping on anything. I guess they will actually be using normal maps for renders, then remove them to "compensate for consoles" in the final cut. Same with those high-res textures and high poly count.
  19. The renders they're showing will be using lighting/shader effects to make them look more detailed. They won't be using large textures. But once it goes in-game, they will screw it all up.

  21. They don't reply to anything techical. Don't bother, I did ask a very simplifed version to *hopefully* get them to reply, but they didn't. p.s. I doubt they're gonna tell us anything about their rendering proccess with their concept art, even post-release.
  22. Along with every other person who might actually like the idea of a infantry tac-shooter? Right, You say this all as if DR is the only game I play, and im going to follow CM no matter what. :rolleyes: @Zipper, I was considering purchusing the game BEFORE they announced it was dead.
  23. I said, the idea is good, the way they're doing it is bad. It doesn't mean i think their game will be good, I just like the idea, that doesn't mean Im a mindless sheep or passionate. I understand waht you mean, but just because I like the idea of it, doesn't make me a mindless sheep that is suddenly so passionate about CM. ok?
  24. Im not passionate about the game at all, I like the idea of the game. Just not the way CM are doing it. Removing things like PvP&ME, (whilst PvP isn't that big of a feature, not having ME is a big problem) The idea is good, the way CM are doing it, isn't good.
