    Turkey Coup D'Etat

EU source says Turkey coup bid looks substantial, 'not just a few colonels' (REUTERS) A coup attempt in Turkey involves a substantial part of the military and "not just a few colonels", a European Union source monitoring events in the EU candidate country said on Friday. "They’ve got control of the airports and are expecting control over the TV station imminently," the source said, shortly before state television TRT broadcast a military declaration of martial law. "They control several strategic points in Istanbul. Given the scale of the operation, it is difficult to imagine they will stop short of prevailing," the source said. Another European diplomat said he was attending a dinner with the Turkish ambassador in a European capital when they were interrupted by messages on their mobile phones. "This is clearly not some tinpot little coup. The Turkish ambassador was clearly shocked and is taking it very seriously," the diplomat told Reuters as the dinner party broke up. http://www.reuters.com/article/us-turkey-security-eu-idUSKCN0ZV2NE

Same, I did watch only one stage live so far, i think it was stage 10. But watched some stages on this webpage, going to watch parts of stage 8 now :D Actually sad to see Contador had to give up and he was really unlucky and crashed twice in the first stages, it seems like Froome is again the top favourite. --> watched Stage 8 and the descent of Chris Froome (video @ 2:18:30 min.) was just amazing...wow Btw, have you ever seen such a crash (stage 7) ? lol

CIA admits: We sent Mandela to jail Ex-CIA spy admits: Tip led to Nelson Mandela's long imprisonment (TheGuardian/BBC; May 16) Former operative says Americans believed the leader was ‘completely under the control of the Soviet Union’, report reveals A tip from a CIA spy to authorities in apartheid-era South Africa led to Nelson Mandela’s arrest, beginning the leader’s 27 years behind bars, a report said on Sunday. Donald Rickard, a former US vice-consul in Durban and CIA operative, told British film director John Irvin that he had been involved in Mandela’s arrest in 1962, which was seen as necessary because the Americans believed he was “completely under the control of the Soviet Unionâ€, according to a report in the Sunday Times newspaper. “We were teetering on the brink here and it had to be stopped, which meant Mandela had to be stopped. And I put a stop to it.†Zizi Kodwa, national spokesman of Mandela’s ruling African National Congress (ANC) party, called the revelation “a serious indictment†“We always knew there was always collaboration between some western countries and the apartheid regime,†he said. He claimed that though the incident happened decades ago, the CIA was still interfering in South African politics. “We have recently observed that there are efforts to undermine the democratically elected ANC government,†he alleged. “They never stopped operating here.†“It is still happening now – the CIA is still collaborating with those who want regime change.†Mandela was eventually freed from prison in 1990 and went on to become South Africa’s president between 1994 and 1999 before dying in 2013 aged 95. Mandela, president of South Africa from 1994 to 1999, was on a US terror watch list until 2008. Before that, along with other former ANC leaders, he was only able to visit the US with special permission from the secretary of state, because the ANC had been designated a terrorist organisation by the former apartheid government. http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/may/15/cia-operative-nelson-mandela-1962-arrest http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-36296551
  11. Panama Papers The secrets of dirty money Over a year ago, an anonymous source contacted the Süddeutsche Zeitung (SZ) and submitted encrypted internal documents from Mossack Fonseca, a Panamanian law firm that sells anonymous offshore companies around the world. These shell firms enable their owners to cover up their business dealings, no matter how shady. Ultimately, SZ acquired about 2.6 terabytes of data, making the leak the biggest that journalists had ever worked with. The data provides rare insights into a world that can only exist in the shadows. It proves how a global industry led by major banks, legal firms, and asset management companies secretly manages the estates of the world’s rich and famous: from politicians, Fifa officials, fraudsters and drug smugglers, to celebrities and professional athletes. More than 200,000 companies, foundations and trusts are contained in the leak of information which came from a little-known but powerful law firm based in Panama called Mossack Fonseca. In the past 12 months, around 400 journalists from more than 100 media organizations in over 80 countries have taken part in researching the documents. These have included teams from the Guardian and the BBC in England, Le Monde in France, and La Nación in Argentina. More than 140 politicians in over 50 countries are amongst them aswell celebrities, FiFA, rich and criminals. A visual overview and only a small part of the listed politicians - amongst them current leading politicians like: President of Argentina, King of Saudi Arabia, President of Ukraine Poroshenko, President of the UAE, Primeminister of Island https://projects.icij.org/panama-papers/power-players/index.html# Link to the SZ Report - english: http://panamapapers.sueddeutsche.de/articles/56febff0a1bb8d3c3495adf4/ Sz Report in german: http://panamapapers.sueddeutsche.de/
  12. Interesting.... Austrian News just google translated: Panama Papers: The USA laughing up their sleeve Even countries like Liechtenstein and Austria did feel the increasing pressure. With Switzerland, the former German Finance Minister Peer Steinbrueck verbally ride even the cavalry. The threat of blacklisting ultimately took effect. A tax haven after another backed down. Particularly the United States have in this competition excelled. While the OECD standard on exchange of information almost come into force worldwide, nobody wants to know in the United States about a takeover of the rules. Washington regularly refers to the bilateral agreement FATCA, which is similar to put. But the comparison is misleading: Although the rules preventing tax evasion of Americans, but not to America. Besides traditional tax haven like Delaware several states have shown themselves to be more attractive and a secret place for international investment lately. Funds from Switzerland, the Cayman Islands or the Bahamas migrate increasingly to Nevada, Wyoming and South Dakota. http://derstandard.at/2000034175490/Die-USA-lachen-sich-ins-Faeustchen Forget Panama: it's easier to hide your money in the US than almost anywhere The term tax haven may evoke images of exotic locales, but Panama actually ranks as the 13th most attractive spot for hiding assets, while the US lies third. One of the surprises about the Panama Papers – the largest leak from an offshore tax adviser in history – is how few Americans have so far been exposed. The reason? It may be because creating a shell company in the US is easier than obtaining a library card. http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/apr/06/panama-papers-us-tax-havens-delaware

Dutch say ‘no’ to treaty with Ukraine After the Government of the Ukraine in 2013 decided not to sign the Association Agreement with the EU, mass protests did start and this did lead to the Maidan Revolution and the conflict. The Netherlands did hold a referendum today and the results are rather shocking, guess what ? 64% did vote against the Association Agreement between the Ukraine and the EU. Of those who did vote 64% voted against the treaty and 36% were for. Opinion polls had consistently forecast a ‘no’ vote. There is only one issue with the overall amount of voters currently: The Nos is 29% and the referendum turnout has to beat the 30% mark for the results to have any legal weight and the Nos poll has a 3% margin of error. http://www.dutchnews.nl/news/archives/2016/04/88341-2

  15. Iceland's leader resigns, first casualty of Panama Papers (Reuters, April 5) The Panama Papers showed the premier's wife owned an offshore company with big claims on Icelandic banks, infuriating many in his country who joined mass street protests calling for him to resign. http://www.reuters.com/article/us-panama-tax-idUSKCN0X10C2 @ The Intercept writes allegedly around 20.000 people did protest on Monday, and at least 28.000 did sign a petition says Huffington Post, Iceland itself has only a population of around 325.000 people !! Thats a huge mass protest if you see the population numbers. By the way, Iceland: Where Bankers Go to Jail for 74 Years They did jail 29 bankers: Just before Christmas, the former CEO of Iceland’s Glitnir bank and two other senior bankers were sentenced to jail terms of up to five years for market manipulation and breach of fiduciary duties. This brings the total number of senior Icelandic bankers so far sentenced for crimes in the run-up to the 2008 banking crash to 29. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/stefan-simanowitz/iceland-has-jailed-29-bankers_b_8908536.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6OfhgkUnZA
  16. Seems like it was a hacker. -> Mossack Fonseca informed its Israeli branch last week that files had been stolen after its computer systems were breached. read more: http://www.haaretz.com/world-news/1.712497
  17. But this doesnt mean US citizen cant avoid US taxes and not using offshore tax havens. The U.S. is the centre of the financial capital with Wall Street. Remember the Swiss Bank leaks and the scandal about it ? Swiss banks were fined for helping U.S. citizens evading taxes And they look also for US citizen avoiding taxes in other countries like South America, for example Belize There is an intersting blog article and critics about the current releases of the Panama Papers. ->But personally, I would say just wait a bit and maybe more informations are comming. Corporate Media Gatekeepers Protect Western 1% From Panama Leaks The Guardian reports this too and helpfully lists those countries as Zimbabwe, North Korea, Russia and Syria. The filtering of this Mossack Fonseca information by the corporate media follows a direct western governmental agenda. There is no mention at all of use of Mossack Fonseca by massive western corporations or western billionaires – the main customers. And the Guardian is quick to reassure that “much of the leaked material will remain private.†https://www.craigmurray.org.uk/archives/2016/04/corporate-media-gatekeepers-protect-western-1-from-panama-leak/
  18. Possible, so far its almost suspicious to see no US citizen listed. It was said on TV also germans are listed but no german politicians. --------------- PM of Island realizes journalists found his secret:
  19. More names in another report about the Ukraine: Julia Timoshenko, Mayor of Odessa Gennadij Truchanow, former Primeminister of Ukraine Pawlo Lasarenko Just google translate it, its an interesting article just about Ukraine & Poroshenko and Panama Papers http://www.sueddeutsche.de/politik/panama-papers-poroschenkos-feldpost-1.2933052 Reports mention aswell the circle around Putin. *Kojo Annan, Son of ex-U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan *Ian Cameron, Father of the british Prime Minister David Cameron The ICIJ findings include evidence that: Offshore companies linked to the family of China's top leader, Xi Jinping, as well as Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, who has positioned himself as a reformer in a country shaken by corruption scandals 29 billionaires featured in Forbes Magazine's list of the world's 500 richest people Icelandic Prime Minister Sigmundur David Gunnlaugsson and his wife secretly owned an offshore firm that held millions of dollars in Icelandic bank bonds during the country's financial crisis Associates of Russian President Vladimir Putin secretly shuffled as much as $2 billion through banks and shadow companies New details of offshore dealings by the late father of British Prime Minister David Cameron, a leader in the push for tax-haven reform Offshore companies controlled by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the King of Saudi Arabia and the children of the President of Azerbaijan 33 people and companies blacklisted by the US Government because of evidence that they have done business with Mexican drug lords, terrorist organisations like Hezbollah or rogue nations like North Korea Customers including Ponzi schemers, drug kingpins, tax evaders and at least one jailed sex offender Movie star Jackie Chan, who had at least six companies managed through the law firm http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-04-04/unprecedented-leak-of-offshore-financial-records-exposes-secrets/7293524

    Terrorist attacks in Brussels

Very bad what happened in Brussel and even more shocking what did happen in Pakistan, many christian families with children as victims and more than 350 wounded - celebrated Easter. Unbelieveable.... Unfortunately, the geopolitical and military engagement of our western world in the middle east did contribute aswell to the situations we see nowadays. In the meanwhile 7 islamic countries were attacked inclusive Drone operations: Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, Libya, Syria. We did contribute and some of the issues are homemade, good example is the Islamic State and its origin from the chaos in Iraq.

For regular ukrainian people its worse than before, they did reach as good as nothing with their revolution which was also supported from outside like other color revolutions. The economy of the country is destroyed and takes decades to recover, the former importance of the russian economical relations is broken, not only the Crimea is lost but also the economy strong east. The EU/NATO is not interested into the Ukraine as a member for a longer time, the corruption in the Ukraine is as good as bad as before. Instead of closer ties with Russia, the new government has closer ties with a different power(s).
