  1. Its interesting that 911 terrorists were from Saudi Arabia but Afghans had nothing with the international Terrorism in common. Its also interesting, that "allied" countries like Pakistan did support state terrorism, Saudi Arabias Zakat funds terror and is the origin of the most brutal form of Islam - Wahabism. Terror cant be a target, its a type of warfare, an asymetric war. The slogan alone, War on Terror stinks...something is wrong. At the end its again for geopolitical interests and safeguarding of SA. Anyway, guys down their should trying to stay safe.

    Why is this game not more popular?

    Honestly when i watch the server list, ACE servers are the least populated ones. I was happy to find a good populated Zeus AI warfare server, most public populated servers dont use any mods at all.
  3. This sounds really nice, unfortunately the download speed is awfull slow down to 1400kb/s which would take 12 hours for just 60MB. I will look for alternative mirrors with google, but hope you can offer also alternative links in this thread, thx. edit: dont know why but the link from armaholic gives me 100%speed, even its the same...strange, still one of the link has only kb/s speed for me. Thx for the mod, will try it out !!

    I did read that some use ACE with this Zeus AI mod, but doesnt have ACE already AI improvements ?
  6. Hi there, until what distance especially Infantry but also other units renders ? I mean at what distance it starts that the human eye can see Infantry or enemy units ingame, aswell the same for AI ?

    Rendering Units: what distance ?

    Well the point is that certain units make no sense if units doesnt get rendered, so just want to be sure that this is not the case. I play just warfare, coop, berserk (?) on multiplayer servers... Maybe there are some infos about rendering for vanilla on multiplayer, would love to know just how that works in this game since its an important point for gameplay.

    Rendering Units: what distance ?

    :confused: I would love to know the number of distance the client renders units, my settings for viewing distance is 2.5-3k usually. Any word from the devs here if the game renders fully at the choosen settings ? It was just a bit strange, last time i did approach a town and it was empty but suddenly when i was really close movement did start out of nowhere. In multiplayer I love also to use the long range weapons from vehicles, but first I would love to know if this game even supports the rendering, especially for infantry units.

    Why is this game not more popular?

    I could think about some reasons... * not enough simulation for real sim fans...it is more a sim about combined units and not about weapons or vehicles. * stiff infantry gameplay for fps fans * AI in multiplayer is just not that reliable * endless numbers of addons and confusing for beginners * quicker official new release and addons split the community * a more complicated gameplay which needs tactics...not everyone wants that. * need for a good pc unit since the game is performance hungry * it is a part of the niche games which are always not directed to the masses
  10. Thank you again for this mod, the active MP I saw was actually a european server with a handfull players and warfare (1.05 ?, well not 1.1). The warfare AI isnt that great but Iam sure player pvp in MP or Coop is fantastic. Iam looking forward to play the coop missions for sure if alone or MP if I find servers when I have time to play. Thx again for the great work, I would just wish that more "public" servers would use more of the available mods and not just only the vanilla game..but well...happy so far. I will read more about your mod, the game, about questions I have in this forum. No worry, but its a bit much for me atm and time consuming, but a great page of ressources. I have both games installed in the same game folder, thats my version type of CO I was talking about and the mod works alright, except some problems I have with warfare but thats a different story. Maybe you should have asked me first if it actually did work for me.
  11. Hi there, Reveal Target I have problems sometimes with targeting visible enemies. Yesterday i was driving the awesome HMMV with thermal view and grenade launcher. Before I was suprised how well they detect enemy infantry. >>Btw...does the AI gunner use the thermal view automatically or do I have to set it for him ? Anyway, was approaching one village and saw an enemy vehicle ahead. Used target reveal on him and nothing did happen. Turned right and suddenly i had another vehicle at front of me, this time maybe 50m only away. Was a visible target: My AI gunner aswell the assistant driver didnt call out anything, I quick pressed the reveal target button and got no reaction with. After that i pressed 2, to see if the target exist...wasnt available aswell. The next second this vehicle did slowly kill me with his MG fire and I could do nothing. As a driver I dont have any aim cross, so is the target reveal function centered on the middle of the screen ? I had such problems with Arma 2 aswell in multiplayer. Mines I guess that mines from the own faction dont hurt any other unit or players except the enemy, right ? Whats the maximum of mine fields and is one mine field like one unit slot in the bar ? Warfare I did play on a warfare server, which had two types of Shilkas. One type did cost around 3000 and the other type 35.000. Why is there such a high price difference ? ACE addon - Server Almost a year ago, ACE was played quiete a lot on many servers. Seems like it isnt that popular anymore or did I miss servers when I just use the ingame browser. Maybe some of you can recommand a good populated ACE server, would be nice. I remember that people did use third party game browser, not sure if this is still popular. The populated (20-30 player average) server I find in the list dont use any client mods so far. I hope the additional hint that I talk about multiplayer and gameplay is enough descriptive. I will add more questions in this thread in the next days.

    Warfare for Invasion 1944 Mod

    Iam trying this warfare edition currently with arma 2 but i get problems: I did put the warfare files into the mpmission folder, donno if this is right. When i try to start one warfare mission i get the errors: "You cant play the mission since it is based on downloaded content which got deleted" and listing about files under this message. What Iam doing wrong ? Would be nice to get some help here, thx. :)

  14. WoW I need to check this out, first time I see one public server with this mod running. Downloading now ! Was looking for a ww2 mod with active players on public servers since a long time .... Thx a lot for this, really great and I hope more players will play this online on public servers...i hope this works with combined operations of course.
  15. Walker, thank you a lot for your answers to my questions. The settings for the AI I use are always (danger, engage at will, sometimes part of the crew also scan horizont). I will try the aware mode the next time. But honestly, I rather think the AI detection is still poor in certain situations. The enemy vehicle was in front of my car and AI, they should not miss it at all. The strange thing is that I could clear almost a whole town with the MMMV 19, hitting EI which I could not see myself...better I will test this with the editor aswell. About mines: I did use on a warfare server (Gossamers Warfare) the support truck for minefields and the questions did arise since I could drive over my own mines without any harm or explosion. Maybe the settings are different here. The optional Shilkas were also on one of the Gossamers Warfare servers, I didnt know the type of Warfare version before and will ask in their own thread about that. Bad, that the current populated public servers dont offer any gameplay with client mods. Good that hidden servers are active aswell.
  16. Iam not sure what is the reason, didnt have this with arma 2 before, but after a while my fps drops from average 50-60 to very low single numbers. The graphic details suddenly look like pac man and some minutes later the game crashes ? Whats the problem here, hope i can find some help ! My pc and video card should run the game without problems (E8400, gtx260, 4gbram). And like i said, i did not have this problem with pure arma 2 on the same pc some days ago.

  18. Hi all, last version i played was 1.05 almost a year ago. I did read a bit about the new patches and would love to know if some of the major issues got improved or maybe with the new addons ( didnt buy any so far). * AI gunner firing main gun automatically and not just MG when you are a driver * Heaviest tanks could be destroyed by just HE rounds * detection of AI gunners * possibility to target infantry and not just vehicles * is this cheap space targeting still possible or can it be switched off by the server ? I remember when i was using just googles to search for targets and did wonder always why other palyers did find me so fast...that was crap for such a nice military game. I lost the overview, due to loads of new addons and mods. Seems like Vanilla Server doesnt play ACE mode anymore. How is Arrowhead so far and is it worth to buy it for multiplayer ?

    Back after a year....

    The SP of Arrowhead is great, I really like the campaing and the new features and can recommand this game for sure ! Would love to test ACE mod, but there are really not active servers around. Which can you recommand for European Timezone ? There is one thing which could probably improved a lot for the tanker, the movement of the maingun doesnt have the feeling of a really heavy gun. I think if that would actually react with the feeling of a heavy tank gun it would give even more immersion to the game. The thermal views are really great, also flares and other night stuff like lasers. Anway thx for the Arrowhead game, will play more in the next days and report back. =)

    Yes, that for sure otherwise i wont see how the "real" game works. So far really nice and i feel the improvement of the AI, they act a little better. :) There are of course some improvements possible for multiplayer, but thats a different story. Need to play more to get more feeling for it. Btw..I could not find really active ACE servers so far. Most are without any client mods.

    Thx for the answers, I have bought Arrowhead today and installing it currently...=) I still hope for fixes/improvements in the next patches...there game has a lot more potential, but in some minutes I will see how Arrowhead works. Anyway thx for the games and the work you did invest into it so far !

    xRIPv1 ?

    I saw one multiplayer server with @xRIPv1, what is the name of this mod ? Btw there are 1.05 servers with a different version (017 and 014) and I could not join them, why are there two different 1.05 versions. edit: per accident i did find the name of this mod after i was reading benny´s warfare mod thread, thea are testing a new island map package on XR #1 server, the mod is called XR Island Pack V1.   23. I just saw that I dont get any new userconfig file after I download new patches for ACE2. Is there any solution for this since I get messages ingame about that. I just download the patches like usual with the six updater, but the userconfig doesnt change and is from january. Thx for help
  24. I wonder if AI from own faction recognize mines/mine fields if i put mines for example on some streets. Does the whole AI from every player of my faction drives around the mine field without any harm or could mines be a problem ?
