:( Sadly, yes. Damn CM and their 'tactical shooter.'

An appropriate handle sir, both a clown and a boy. I've got better things to spend my money on than the latest stuff AMD and ATI are rolling out that you punch your clown to. Tell me, if I looked at the PC magazines that you undoubtedly keep in your bathroom, would I find every other page stuck together? They have a name for that, it's called mechaphilia. UT3 pro's? The first two are. Heaton is a CS player. Clown. And besides, your friend is the one who brought up "twitch shooters" you butt clown. SO it's only natural I would bring up competitive players - that's what we were talking about. Does Arma have a competitive circuit? Nope. That's why you don't need the precision of a mouse to play it. Keyboard is secondary to an analog for movement. The rest of your post is more or less an incoherent jumble of what would otherwise be nonsense. You're the forums "special kid" aren't you? Here, I'm a nice guy so don't thank me, this emoticon should keep you amused for years!

You're right, I don't play on the PC anymore. It got tiresome upgrading. I started as an exclusively PC gamer and now find myself playing exclusively on consoles. Guess what? The competition is no different on either. I've seen UT players that primarily play PS3 smoke PC players, and vice versa, on both platforms. You're not Boots, Hypno, Heaton, etc. so my statement regarded the fact that you're gaming ability isn't great enough to be significantly affected unless you're well below average with the analogs. I stand by my assertion that the only significant difference for those that are skilled gamers (excluding professionals who play at an absurdly fast rate, but Arma is hardly a "twitch shooter") is in the long range shots which require pixel-small aiming margins.

I agree that the button assignments would suck but I was talking about gaming generally. Analogs are not clumsy. The PS3 supports Kb/m so I don't think the input argument with respect to RTS and games with a large amount of commands like Arma are as relevant. Unreal Tournament 3 on the PS3. It will allow you to use your Kb/m. I'm not a top dueler but I'll play you and I'll have a few friends of mine who also use controller duel you (the guys from clan Quake Marines will be chomping at the bit). ---------- Post added at 09:35 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:33 PM ---------- I apologize, it was unnecessary.

I think you might as well give up gaming if your coordination is too atrocious to work analogs. I agree that Dpads are inferior to WASD, but the left analog for movement is superior to the Kb. The mouse beats out the right analog for fluidity, but again the difference only matters for long range shots, unless you have the dexterity of a feeble nematode in which case any analog usage looks laughable. It's amusing to see the guys who rag on console controllers only to get trounced by people who use them in competitions. If you're an 'average joe' gamer then stop talking about which setup is the best. If you've played at a competitive level then you've got the credibility to talk on the matter, but most of those players kick butt regardless of the input they use. ---------- Post added at 10:35 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:32 PM ---------- Sorry for the ad hominen, but I don't think anyone takes seriously a man with an anime character as his avatar.

Agreed. But I truly doubt Bohemia's business plans hinged entirely on the workability of Vista. We'll have to wait and see but they cite declining PC game sales as a factor, and both you and I know that sales shift has been towards consoles for some time. Until they release an update I take their statement as a whole as the official direction of the company. That's what the purpose of the post was. People kept flooding this thread with comments about how a console versions were impossible, etc. Bohemia hasn't said if they are able to get a console version working yet, but they have specified an interest in working on consoles (whether it's a new IP/offshoot or a port). I just sought to have the elitists stop trashing console users and instead realize at this point the company doesn't appear to be on the course that many PC users wish it was. Leave us console guys alone. We have nothing to do with whether or not the game is made available to us (as we, here on the forums, are but a tiny fraction of the market).

Yes, maybe you should have read the posts before typing anything. I address the fact that the link is a few years old. Look at the data and see that console sales have been on the rise. For Bohemia to have abandoned the business approach presented in the link would be strange (especially as what they say becomes truer with each passing year).

I provided the link to Bohemia's page including their official stance regarding consoles so we needn't suffer the futile gripings of elitists...

The point of my post wasn't to indicate that Arma 2 was coming, it was to highlight the direction the company is heading with info from the horse's mouth as opposed to speculation. The post is 2 years old, but those 2 years certainly haven't seen an explosion in the popularity of PC gaming, whereas the console market is continuing to grow. That's why I find it unrealistic that BIS's goals have changed drastically in that time frame. Walker - Thanks for the welcome!

Hey all. I just registered here after browsing for a while and you can add my name to the list of those eager to see Arma 2 debut on consoles. I know a lot of people in this thread are going on about how the Arma franchise should remain exclusive to computer players while others are arguing that attention to consoles need not mean neglect on the PC side, so I thought it would be interesting to see your reactions to this: http://www.bistudio.com/developers-blog/arma-2-expectations-2_en.html At the bottom there is a section on console development and unless BIS radically altered their opinions (which I don't see as realistic b/c of the proliferation of console ownership throughout the US population) it looks like we may get future titles like Arma2: OA.
