I'm making a mission where the players will be advancing towards an enemy position, as they advance, I want the AI to be shooting RPG rounds off to make the mission feel all nice and tense and scary. Is there a way to force this to happen? I'm currently using ace invisible targets and dofire, but it doesn't seem to be working.

Trigger a flare

I'm looking to do a mission where opfor have set out some trip flares for Bluefor. I've got the script working, but want it to be a one shot only. And I want to use one script to work at several different positions, what sort of language do I need to use? -
And once again people want to crawl around sneakily. I never understand the need for a stealth kill. Surely either they don't know you're there, in which case well done, now carry on. Or you're being shot at, which is when you'll want to kill. Don't give me a knife, give me a Dane axe, accompanied with compulsory screaming Viking animation. On a slightly more serious note. To those going on about silenced weapons, as I understand bayonets are so much more common to be fixed to the end of your gun than silencers that the argument you're using against knives can be successfully applied to them, but I want to put a scenario to you: You are storming a building in pvp, the injury system is on. Grenade goes off, you rush in a foe is incapacitated on the floor in front of you. Do you empty half a clip into him? (You're storming, gun is on full auto) or stab him? I'm going to save my ammo thanks, I'll use it on someone who isn't helpless, also, this isn't a quiet stealthy lol kill, this is finishing a downed enemy after a grenade.

Let the modders do it. Yes, WW2 arma would be great, but as a Brit I'd need to demand that it would include at least models for the 6 major powers (Brits, Germans, Italians, us, Japanese and Russians) and it would need bayonets. It would need the loving and obsessive touch of modders, rather than a commercial hand. I don't want to see anymore ww2 games outside of hearts of iron style of global strategy for a bit.

Eh, once again the splinter cell fans come out of the woodwork. No, in any game carrying the moniker realistic combat should knives be implemented, an even bigger sin is to have them silent. Stealth kill is a concept that angers me, and something that I hate seeing in any game. Bayonets on the other hand, for a noisey assault kill, that I will want to see. If I charge a position, and I have a choice of stabby or shooty, I'll save my bullets thanks. But no, please don't give us a sneaky lol kill button.

The majority of all media is bias to one viewpoint or another, never use one source of information for anything. That said, I thought the mail was pro-soldiers, I'm sure it was the mail who did an article aimed at shaming people who refused to employ veterans...

Jok, shut up, wrong topic for gun law, and your coming over as the sort of Yank idot who would lop off his wedding tackle and replace it with a minigun if you could get away with it. To be honest, I respect Google less now. When they were cooperating they had a chance to change things peacefully and calmly, avoiding a bloody revulotion that will cost countless lives. If things carry on like this, then people like Jok will be the ones to decide China's future...

Perhaps it wasn't mossad, perhaps it was a corporation protecting its research into xenobilogical research. If vwe hear that Weyland and Yutani are merging then I called it. Or perhaps its a mysterious think tank protecting its sordid secrets... Okay, the boring serious hat on now. You are aware having a humble opinion does not lend weight to your argument. I'm willing to bet I'm smarter than you, based on experimentation, but so are most people, though not humble, this does lend weight to my argument. You want to be taken seriously then lets rock! To me, this is a professional hit, the kill was silent, and the operatives were able to extract without harming bystanders. Whoever ordered the hit had decided that the political fallout of this Guy getting killed was preferable to him living, and had already worked it all through. The most... foolish thing is Dubai releasing the info, the best Intel is Intel your enemies don't know you have. By releasing it they have ensured that whoever is connected will most likely change in someway to limit damage. What you consider a professional hit doesn't exist outside of a movie, there is probably no way to do it without evidence, and even then its risky, most don't come to our attention. This is only on here because Dubai probably paid a news agency to run it as a top story and the others jumped on the bandwagon. Oh, and this is both an attack and an arguement, so don't ignore me, or I'll use my superior space brain to melt your mind in an untraceable attack.

Ok...... this is perhaps the worst idea I've seen yet. Sadly, all the people who jumped to the defense of Arma 2 by pointing to graphics requirements missed the point. No, it doesn't matter how powerful the graphics engine is, it doesn't matter. It is the power of the human/cpu interface - In laymans terms, it is the power of a keyboard and mouse compared to a console control. Arma 2 lives off Player Made Content, all those missions you play online? Barring the simplistic quick made missions, someone sat down and made them. Squads customising their uniforms, ACE, this was all made by someone with a keyboard and mouse. Quite frankly, the prospect of trying to make something like ACE with an Xbox 360, or a PS3, controller has just become my vision of hell, and if you gave me a choice between making a mission in arma 2 with a console controller, and a walk across broken glass in bare feet, here are my shoes. Next, there are dedicated servers to play online, so you need to buy a second xbox to run the games your friends join... and then you need to organise patches, versions... you are fast heading towards a nightmare for console games. With windows, a keyboard and mouse, you can play Arma 2 at its best, something that a console will NEVER match.
