Odd, I looked for some firmware, found out that I have 1.05, but the newest version I could find on the internet was 1.03. Anyway I think I'll defragment a couple of times, just to make my HDD performance better, and then see if the install works. EDIT: Right, it still happens on random files, but Characters2.pbo is the one it ALWAYS crashes on. EDIT2: Meh, it really sucks that it has FADE, because I can't use a .iso file no either. Really losing patience with this thing. EDIT3: Right, now it doesn't crash anymore at characters2.pbo, but it just hangs there forever. Guess I'll have to download the .iso, and that way invalidate my CD-key and hate bohemia for the rest of my life.

Bought the game yesterday. Now that I am trying to install it, it can get up to characters2.pbo, and then the install crashes with a file read error. I'd do what I have done with previous games, copy the files off the disk, but guess what? They are in some weird formats and direct copying won't help. I'm sure the disk is fine, and that the problem is on my end. I would download the .iso off some pirate site, but with FADE that is neither an option. Specs; 2.53ghz e7200 dual core 9800GT 512MB 4GB RAM 40GB of free HDD space Windows XP SP2, (simulated SP3 with a registry edit so SP3-only games will work)
