    Patch 1.54 Securom conflict

    I have the same problem. After installing the new patch i get a securom message that i have deamon tools installed, but i dont have any of those programs on my pc. Original disk is inside my dvd rom. I reinstalled arma2 in follow steps and checked always if it starts: 1) install arma2 vanilla --> i was able to start the game with arma2 disk inside 2) install arrowhead --> i could start the game with the original arrowhead disk inside 3) i installed 1.54 --> game wont start i get securom message with original arrowhead disc inside addidtional) i could play the game with 1.53 --> original arrowhead disk inside i have german version. i also contacted the securom support but they cant help, i sended them my log analysis file but they couldnt find something. But they are on it. Untill that i have to stay on 1.53 :( that means i cant use my baf untill the problem is fixed. I tried everything. I searched registry, i downloaded deamon tools to install and uninstall them but i think it has nothing to do with it, because i had it never on my pc before. Securom support is the wrong way i think, it has something to do with the latest patch. It makes the game think my original disk is an emulated drive or something strange. Hope you may take a look on this problem, i want play arma. plz dont suggest any cracks, i want play with my original disk and my dlc which i cant use with my current working 1.53 version. thanks for any help, i really need it.

  3. I know the bf2 pr system, and i know arma. I know arma could handle it much better than bf2. I know we played pr together. I know you but i know that you dont know who i am, hehe. muhahaha
  4. just a message youre no pilot you cant operate this chopper/plane. you need to get a pilot kit or something like that would be enough. Then you need to switch to pilot class, and youre restricted to personal defence weapons only (pistols, smgs) after selecting. but you can fly choppers.
  5. You could select diffrent models instead of kits (player gets ghillie suit when selected sniper for example). Then you could limit the weapons to the models. example: just make the ghillie suit can use sniper rifles (and all normal assault rifles of course) normal assault rifles without gl should be avaiable for all classes sniper gets acces to sniper guns mg gunner to machine guns grenadier to all kind of grenade launchers and so on This would work i think. (only an idea, im no tester. but i know how arma mechanics work) So you have the weapons depends on classes, but you have the ability to select between some types of guns depends on how you want solve the mission You could select your class and then you need to get equip at somes boxes or via menue in which the restrictions are scripted in...
  6. I suggest putting mission date around 10.juli 2010, then you have a nice bright night with big moon. You can see without nv there too. Because the night at the standard editor date is without moon and dark like shit.

    ive started my own hand to hand combat style based off....

    No limited fights like kickboxing, boxing and take kwon do. Here you are limited to very few technics that yozu are allowed to use. Its no real fight, its a tactical sport with limited technics. Where both sides have to do the same. Real fighting starts in the sports area with freefight (he should find this sports in every city), its not limited to some tactics. Then there are those defence technics like systema & krav maga (i prefer atk), where you learn do deal with more than 1 opponent in a unconventional way of fighting. There you need to get down any opponent in less than a few seconds to make sure that you have your back free for the next incomming guys. Here you are not limited to anything, YOU have to decide what you need to do in a situation to protect yourself and what is unnecessary in some situations. You learn to kill there, but you learn avoid such situations too. (as i started we had to learn much § before we started fighting) And YES for me fights are on the street where your opponents wants you to eat dirt. Where you have maybe to deal with more than 1 against you, in a non controlled (rules, techniques bla bla) area. I dont start a fight, but i can end a fight. Hey eagle, i know women (60-70 kg)there i would bet my whole year income that they could beat you without any problems in very short time. Shit they could kill you, because thats what they are learned for years. Grow up, you are not chuck norris. Evry man will find his master, you only need to search better (try advanced fighters instead of kids). What i want from pr arma: - lower fuel amount for vehicles to make sure that choppers and plains have a limited operation area/time without supplies and support from other plyers - better logistic part for supplies, fuel and ammo - bigger firebases and possibilities to build squad defenses - ingame radio like acre - restricted playerclasses (rifleman atomatic rifle, light at and so on) with restricted weaponpool for those classes (medic has acces to all assaultrifles without grenade launcher, grenadier has acces to all ri9fles with launcher, machinegunner can select all mgs etc etc...) - like in pr bf2, special soldier classes are only accesable if the squad reaches a specifig strenght (sniper, heavy at, engineer with 2+ members and grenadier, automatic rifle, medic, marksman with 4+ squadmembers) - soldier classes resricted to 1 or 2 per squad and overall 1 or 2 per side to some loadouts like sniper - only crewmans and pilots can operate vehicles. and they only have acces to self defense weapons (mp5, pistols, m4 ironsight) - the need for real crews (no one man tanks and choppers) - diffrent equipable parachutes like in ACE 2, no jumping out air assets without the correct chute - the need for 2 or more persons to get things done like build stuff and cap areas - instead of big flag radius there should be a few points of intrest in an area which need to be controlled to get the area under your control + MUCH MUCH other teamwork forcing elements
  11. Not this community, only you. You want coop and cti from a pvp mod, you complain unnecessary things. I bet you never played pr gameplay, because if you played it you would know how it goes. Im part of both communities and i know both sides of pvp gameplay, and if they manage to convert bf2 pr gameplay and teamwork into arma2 without those limits that the bf2 engine brings aside then this will be a huge step forward for the arma community. And specially for you and other coop and cti only lovers: - you can build your own coop and cti missions with the pr units for sure But the mod itselfs adresses only the pvp aspect and adds new units and islands for that, which should be accessible for all later in the editor. I played ass in arma and it sucks they way it is at the moment, because its like the vanilla bf2 ass: - rambo friendly (single usable vehicles) - no forced teamwork (you can work as team but you dont have to) - no basebuilding - no chain off command - no supply chains - only fighting just booring here just a random youtube vid with the squadplay atmosphere 9RgUydCFrQM

    OA COOP roles

    The host has a fix slot the other players can choose one from the other slots. The host plays the original single player characters for which the mission was made. He cant change slots. Because triggers and scripts needs this character in the mission to work.
  13. No coop and cti in pr, just pure pvp. But im sure you can use their new assets in the editor then for your coop or cti missions. But the pr mod itself is pvp only (gamemodes comming inside the mod)
  14. Are you kidding? The cm tools are crap: - crappy racing engine (streams max 600-700m) - aweful editor Go back to your cm forum and post another 3000 hurrah posts in 5 months.... The only good thing for cm are their lieing public relations section, wich are able to make ppl think they get a super realistic operation flashpoint 2 simulation before release. So they got money from thousands of ppl wich surely never would touched the game if they know how it would be before release. A hand full of "dr fanboys" are left in their forum and 90% are gone after thousands of complaint threads. But cm was censoring their forums, closing or deleting the threads of the customers that felt betrayed from cm. Banning all of them would be the solution they thought, but now you see that realisticly only a few are still their and licking cms ass. And ben_s is the biggest cm asslicker there.

    Books are not useful, you need ppl to train with. And if you want get better you need ppl which are better than you, but after watching your vid it shouldnt be a problem to find some.

  17. Tell us a few gameplay elements for arma pr, to get away from this server discussion. All i need to know are there will be servers when pr is here for arma to play on.
  18. But they have enough to carry around as medic, and other jobs to do. Instead of sniping guys and killing tanks. Thats a other big aspect of teamplay, anyone get some roles to fit into. Noone can handle all threads alone...
  19. Whats your pr nick? Arma isnt a game, its a scenarioeditor, comming with templates and waiting for users to make their missions. And if the missionmaker just puts all into a mission without setting teamplaying restrictions, then you have what i said. Dont compare coop against pvp, for pvp you need restrictions to get both teams a fair and good game, without them its just not possible because players are no soldiers which have to make what they get said. Im in the pr 10th community and in a seperate arma community and trust me if i say the current pvp gamemodes from arma dont force teamwork and squadplay like pr did, and they dont punish solo gameplay and rambo tactics either... But im also sure if the right gamemode is avaiable for arma wich promotes and forces teamplay then arma has much more potential than BF2-PR will ever have in terms of a realistic pvp scenario. but till now its prbf2 pvp > arma pvp
  20. youre so wrong, try it A game can force teamwork and avoid rambo style tactics, then you have to work as team to get anything done or leave the game for other shooters where you can be a medic with sniperrifle and at launcher. I bet you never played pr to have a base to compare with current avaiable arma pvp gamemodes ... So all your arguments (there were non in your post) are invalid.
  21. No they dont. I play bis games since opf1, and i love playing arma so far. BUT when it comes to pvp pr beats all. I have only 2 permanent installed games on my pc arma and pr(bf2). By the way i hate bf2, i own bf only for pr since pr 0.3. PR has much engine limitations because the bf2 engine sucks, but it forces teamwork and punish lonewolf gameplay. You cant do much alone, you can build stuff only as squad with more than 2-3 ppl. All neccessary squad support kits like automatic rifle, medic, marksman and stuff are only in squads avaiable if they have more than 3-4 members. (sniper + hat you can get if you are 2+ in a squad). Tanks and choppers wont work alone and only with crewman and pilot kits. Such things ,missing in the missions for arma which are avaiable atm. I hope pr arma get those things into arma to make arma pvp more teamplay needed. If someone never played pr:bf2 then plz dont try defend armas public pvp teamwork here, because it never comes close to the pr one till now. I hope that changes soon with pr arma. Dont suggest searching a clan or anything, i spoke from forced public teamwork. Mm8U53cEAhI

    If the admin of the servers put the enemy presece on many instead of normal in the parameters you will have much more enemies. And by the way the constant spawn of enemies untill you accomplished the mission is good. Noone wants to kill all and go on. When we play we try solve our mission not killing all moving targets, and ambushes and little firefights during a search for something in a town are much more immersive then just kill all moving targets and then go in and search with no more risk.

    Light vehicles destruction

    They dont explode much on smallarms fire ingame. only when hit by any explosive at rounds. otherwise they just burn out after a while and dont use cars as boats.
