If you hold a fascination with the Vietnam War (..and the VTE mod [plug]) like I do. You might be interested in these real photos/story: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-23124347 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/in-pictures-22042380 http://www.thestory.org/stories/2013-04/soldiers-eye-rediscovered-photos-vietnam

Thanks for the heads up on the server "in business" times. Q: regarding the xdelta patching, I tried it last time and some error came up saying 2 files were missing. I use sixupdater so wasn't sure if I needed to do xdelta thing or just wait for six updates. Anyway I updated using sixupdater later. Still appears to work ok though. Should I just continue using sixupdater and ignore xdelta updates (as efficent as it is)?

Yea summer time is time to be be out, don't disagree. But if there is certain time span, a certain day the server is populated. I'd make more of an effort then. Looking forward to the updates. Thanks

Hey Snake Man, when does your VTE PMC server get busy these days? Or has everyone jumped ship to ARMA 3 VTE?
  5. So its definately not an A-10 Thunderbolt...? How would *that* have worked in Vietnam!

This is looking really impressive. I remember OFP VTE and i am sure that PBR boats had rotating radar randomes? Would be cool if some of these boats had flamethrowers which i believe some really were equipped with. Not sure if the arma2 engine can stimulate flamethrowers though.
  9. Just seen this advertised on BBC 1 . Apparently includes footage shot by soldiers serving in-country. Sorry to people not UK based http://www.tvthrong.co.uk/would-you-join-army/bbc-viewers-be-frontline-army-life-2011-%E2%80%93-bbc-three-announces-two-new-factual-military-commissions http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pressreleases/stories/2010/12_december/15/army.shtml
  10. I saw similiar "graphical glitches" green patches/lines and such when the video card overheats esp with actual video memory. A lot of us experienced that when Nvidia screwed up a driver edition last year causing many cards (incl mine) to overheat. We in the UK have felt a blast of mediterrainean tempretures recently causing computer cooling systems to work harder e.g. fans going overdrive. I'd suggest doing everything you can to get cold/fresh air in and around your PC. for example open windows, open doors, block sunlight, open case, moving the whole PC.
  11. "God knows what tree" - this is what I mean!! "Move to bush, 12 oclock" - Yes I see the exact bush you mean out of a clump of 100+ bushes (ohh and BTW one isn't a bush its a soldier in multicam) I choose tabasco, but feel free to choose whatever you want.
  12. Can I add using absolute compass directions would be better than the clock method (if it wasnt for the clock face pointer, I'd be asking whose 3 o'clock?). And even better (if ever possible) to reference actual landmarks (that building, that car, that street, that 20ft wall with a hole in it etc etc). Probably not the first person to mention this. Just my 2 cents.

    New idea. Drugs wars.

House to house drug busts in Kabal?? Don't DEA agents actually operate in Afghanistan?
  15. Is VTE still in beta stages? I know I read in earlier posts that it can be downloaded but then later posts give the impression it isn't quite there yet. Also I noticed the 2GB size of the mod - will this also be distributed via six-updater or bit-torrent? Or even smaller "chunks". There is a very good possibility that even if I succesfully DL a 2GB file it would be corrupt. Meaning I may have to ask if anyone can send me the file on DVD.
