Parrotnut replied to zonekiller's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
Hello ZoneKiller, I just want to thank you for this great WAR. It’s really amazing! Last weekend I build a dedicated server especially for these missions and it runs great. Driving a M1A2 on a narrow road trough the forest gives a whole different feeling in this battlezone :j: I only have one problem and that is that I have a hard time to stop playing this war ;) So... thank you very much. regards, Frank -

Something like "multi-threaded rendering" seems nice :): http://forums.anandtech.com/showpost.php?p=31520674&postcount=28

Maybe 'Afterburner' can do the trick to underclock your GPU http://downloads.guru3d.com/Afterburner-2.1.0-Beta-7-download-2604.html

Did you check your temps lately? Could be that your GPU is running hot. You can do a stress test with OCCT ( http://www.ocbase.com/perestroika_en/index.php?Download ) or an other program and check if your temps are fine.

I7 2600k with ati 6970 issues with stutter
Parrotnut replied to cotabucky's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Maybe a silly option to try but... Uninstall your virus scanner ( not disable, some services will still be running ) and see if there are any improvements. Some virus scanners are checking all the files that are opened or executed by default. If there are any improvements with the stuttering than maybe it’s time for an other virus scanner. If you want to know your RAM is fast enough, you can download the TRIAL version of Aida64 (http://www.aida64.com/downloads). Open Aida64—> Tools—> 'Cache and Mem benchmark', and compare it with your friends computer. Or click ‘Benchmark’ and compare it with systems shown in Aida64. hope this helps. -

You're welcome. I don't really have troubles with texture popups, so maybe you can copy my nvidia control panel settings and see if there are any improvements -

ArmA II & OA crash to desktop/blue screen
Parrotnut replied to [general nuisance]'s topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I see you are using 12GB RAM, if it’s 6x2GB then make sure to use the latest BIOS. I don’t know at what speed your RAM is running but if you are using 6x2 GB you probably need to loosen your timings a bit. http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=86503 ( I know it isn’t the same RAM you are using, but maybe you can check here for some examples ) -
Does ArmA 2 Warrant An Additional Video Tutorial Disc?
Parrotnut replied to infiltrator_2k's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
One of the forum members named ‘Baz’ did make a video tutorial to commanding your AI squad. The video’s he made are a couple of hours long and are very helpful for a new ( and not so new ) Arma player. He explains every command you can give to your AI players. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=107231 -
DAC3 initialisation tutorial (for DAC beginners)
Parrotnut replied to dmarkwick's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I just tried what you suggested and it worked. I started the mission two times, the first time the DAC initialization screen said 12 Patrols ( or something like that ) and the next time it was 20 Patrols ( have some unarmored cars also ). Now I’ve to find a way to force myself not to look at the DAC initialization screen so I don’t know how many patrols there are. So, thanks again for the help -
DAC3 initialisation tutorial (for DAC beginners)
Parrotnut replied to dmarkwick's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Thank you very much for this tutorial DMarkwick ( And of course Silola and BIS for the tools they provided to make this happen ) Yesterday I made my first mission with a “DAC zone†full of enemy infantry over Zargabad. I’ve played the mission a couple of times and its just awesome to play. It’s a bit scary to go into the city because you know there are enemies but you don’t know where and exactly how many, and every time you play the mission they are somewhere else. I just copy and paste the line ( null=[“z1â€,[1,0,0].............. ) and changed some numbers with the help of your guide, and now I have a mission I can play multiple times and is never the same, so thank you very much. -
Maybe you can find a answer in the Sprocket FAQ page, it helped me when I was trying to activate BAF with the CD key instead of the serial number a while back :icon_redface: http://www.sprocketidea.com/joomla/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=53&Itemid=41

@3dArtist Maybe you can try to disable Hyper-threading in your BIOS, could help with a better work load balance of the 8 Cores.
-
Nice system you have there :omg: I think 1 of your 16 Cores is running at 100% and the other 15 are waiting for the first core to finish his job. That one Core is “only'†running at 2,4GHz, so I think it doesn’t matter how much cores you have if they all have to wait for the first core. It would be ideal if you could overclock only one core, that would be awesome... And with 2x 580GTX in SLI you can turn on all the eye candy, but for the rest they still have to wait for the first core to finish

I have 285 GTX SLI and had the CTD’s once in a while, I solved it by lowering the speed of my system RAM a bit. You can try to loosen your timings a bit ( 8-8-8-24 instead of 7-7-7-16 i.e. ), lower the speed ( Mhz ) or up the voltage of your system RAM a bit ( be careful with this ) My overclock is, and was, Prime95 stable but Prime95 don’t stress your system RAM and video memory. I did this a month ago and haven’t had a CTD since. <knocking on wood> hope this helps

This is how i understood how it should work: 1: Arma 2 2: Run Arma 2 at least once ( I think it's for registry key's ) 3: OA 4: dlc 5: Latest patch Hope this helps.

Hello Jojo, I want to thank you for this great profile. It works like a charm. I watched your videos and after that I bought the license of VAC, because I was so impressed with your videos. It must have been a lot of work to create this profile. I am quite a new player to Arma and your profile makes it a lot easier to command my AI players around. So again, I want to thank you for sharing your profile.
