Firstly, I feel Bohemia really deserve the success they are getting and I really hope it helps them realise what an amazing game they have made. (sure they do!) I can see young blood buying DAY-Z on steam now. Some spend 5mins on the game and go back to Modern Warfare. Some play for a week and lose interest. But some, just a few are introduced to Day-Z and create an adventure of endless possibilities for themselves. You see, that's what we do. We have "discovered" ARMA 2 and so mould it into our own little world. We all have our own little bubbles of skilled members. The average player has to tick a lot of boxes and spend a good few dedicated hours just learning to play the game. This creates a big learning curve 80% of new players fall at. Here's the beauty of Day-Z. In my mind it's a training ground for the future arma player. I can load up Day-Z and dominate a server with an organised merc unit, where as the "day-z loner" will always lose. So slowly but surely a percentage of DAY-Z players are filtering into the ARMA scene. As green as grass and as fresh as raw meat, they bring no BS baggage from other communities and are willing to learn while breathing life into this community. Here's my take on ARMA evolution: DAY-Z ARMA 2- FREE ARMA 2 - Combined Ops (most day-z players don't play this :P) ARMA 2 - ACE2/ACRE Profit? With ARMA 3 not to far away, I for one as a loyal dedicated arma player am looking forward to the future of DAY-Z and the fresh blood it brings. Thanks, Andrews -

Just showing my love for ACE in this thread. Stopped using it for a while due to updates but man, what a difference it makes. Now with these stable releases and calm before the ARMA 3 storm we've taken it back up. Thanks again guys.

Nvidia Driver 301.42 - reason for low fps

I'm gonna start by saying I have no evidence to back this up. However, Drivers (Nvidia anyway) have always had a massive impact on my game experience. I've had 3 different systems and have experienced more problems the better my system becomes. My previous rig seemed to be perfect for ARMA2/Iron Front. I had a 9800GTX and used the beta drivers (191.03_desktop_win7_winvista_64bit_english_beta.exe) these drivers were amazing for me. I mean they did something to ARMA 2 that I can't explain. Since then I've upgraded to a nicer system but it still seems like I'm running everything the same. (settings wise) Gonna try the 295.73 and see how it goes. -
Really nice little mod. It negates realism a little, but the ability to change suits is reward enough. Thanks for the hard work.

Thanks to Jens we are now working on the source files of this map. All credit goes to Jens and his hard work. This is an internal project and will be released once with completed. In the mean time RG are using a slightly altered version of this map for our private training. If any mappers would like to help out with this project please let me know via PM. -

Honestly. I hope they make an ARMA 2 mod (simular to CAA) that allows you to play all the ARMA 2 mission and mods within ARMA 3 engine. Going back in 1994 afghanistan in ARMA 3 is on the top of my list! - The futuristic element is not my cup of tea!

Great idea. Player killers are also screening the coast lines and knowing spawn locations. Some spawns in remote unoccupied towns could help solve this. -

for those of you that haven't played the mod and are interested in what it looks like, here's about 40mins of raw in game video. I added some annotations for extra value. This video is a mixture of our RG milsim unit and pubbies on TS last weekend. Please note: Video contains unedited mature language and theme. This mod gets the blood pumping and you can hear it on TS :) Should give you an idea :) -

Just wanted to say this is a great mod and I'm having a blast playing it with friends. I've been playing ARMA 2 since release and have never explored the map in this much detail. I've discovered locations and buildings - isolated barns etc and love the small attention to detail in some places. It's awesome the way all the restrictions force you to value not only your life but experience real fear when you encouter another player. The mod forces you into a "wolf pack" mentality. A it's "them or us" way of thinking. The limited vehicles is such a nice touch, please do not change it! Distance is value and time. So you feel isolated most of the time. All in all I would love to see something like this developed more speciality for ARMA 3. This type of survival mod really suits the gameplay and forces exploration of the vast and detailed arma environment. I recorded 6hrs of gameplay with me and some friends. I'll upload a longplay video and post it in this thread tonight. Thanks again guys for all the work, Andrews -
