Er, I tried to run one of the stock SP missions with this and now it won't run anymore because it depends on the Cole_MFamily_Replace_M addon.... Is there anyway I can stop this? Thanks

You forgot about: case, PSU, RAM, video card, media drives.... For a game like arma II, expect to spend at least $150 of a video card.

That's actually a pretty good idea... Problem will be getting a supplier in each country the game is distributed :/ They could always just ask newegg or something for the US market.

I think $400 will get you a decent PC for JUST the box, but it will be pushing it.... If you are in the US I can have a look at some parts for you if you like. Grass isn't the *best* solution but it's the most practical. Until PC's are powerful enough to render grass all over the whole island this will have to do.

Now that is a complete fallacy and typical fanboy opinion. ATI do have driver issues sometimes, but so do nvidia. The "longer life cycles" and "more stable cards" is completely baseless. I may sound like some ATI-fanboy-rager, but in reality I just hate it when people who are misinformed, misinform others..

This isn't really the right section, but i'll answer anyway. The acer has a lot more pixels on the screen, so the video card has to render more things. The lower the resolution, the less work the video card has to do. I would suggest lowering it to maybe 1440 x 900 and running it in windowed mode ( -window in your arma2 shortcut) to get some better performance without the huge drop in visual quality from lowering your resolution and stretching the image to fit.

1) Make sure you land AWAY from any hot zones and walk the rest of the distance. Rememeber the AA guns/missles have long reach. 2) For some reason (this has been excluded since OFP1) there is no "report position" voice comms for your own player. Instead, just give them a move waypoint next to your position. Once he can see you again, he will no longer be "away". 3) I've been playing the game for years and years and still can't remember all the comms. This is something you will learn from lots of experience. 4) Stay away from pub servers if you want decent gameplay. Stick to private communities like tactical gamer or a local clan. Most clans/groups will be happy to have another recruit :). There is a dedicated forum here for it, do a search for any local ones.
