    there are keys and buttons that will leave you tongue tied.

    the game play if you get with a good squad is nothing less than military

    for action.. (with ArmA2 anyway) its about 10% of any BF game so far less stressful

    the game as a game is second to non (ArmA2) A3 will be something else when its finished but so far even the couple of not longs i spent on it i love it already.

    open editor and make a little scenario go in and learn the keys. spawn your self some playable air craft and learn to fly. this will save you the bollockings in a live server, (they get a bit uptight if you fly off without your wings and a craft full of grunts, especially if you mess up and crash lol)

    enjoy it mate you wont play anything else like it ever :)

    Thanks for clearing this up and finding the source of the error Terox, i did read this last night.

    yes it did get confusing and at first i did think the scripters from A2 had joined the server, later to find out what the problem really is.

    but i did get quite good at flying the seagull and think BIS should implement chain guns to them. now that would take the game to a whole new level lol.

    Script idea. Two tk's instantly turn into chicken. Take away any weapons. Set loadout to 0 so they cannot rearm, remove all addactions from player, put them in a restricted zone on display for others to kill at will, set side to east so all blufor can tk them as much as they want, and mute in-game voip to all. They may still type. Run client side for 5 minutes. If there is a second violation, execute the ban via script to put them on the list, and do not kick them. Impose the same restrictions as the first violation, no weapons, chicken, east side, no voip. Let them stay that way until they choose to leave the server. Once they leave since they are on the ban list they cant come back.

    Leaving them in the server serves a purpose. Some people are actually stupid enough to wait a really long time just to be stupid for another minute. By letting them stay in the server as harmless poultry we accomplish two things: 1) Possibly letting the tk'er become bored and lose interest in hopping from one server to the next tk'ing; 2) Holding them in one server as long as possible in order to help other servers again from having to deal with him.

    haha this would be perfect. could you imagine the faces in real life? lol

    say what now? i bought this game just like everybody.... ok most of the rest who didn't get it for free. so there for i am entitled to an answer (fair answer) just like veryone else am i correct? so i am not entitled to be to to shut up by someone i dont even know.

    so yes i gave a reply fitting to the recipient. for which i am quite entitled.

    so as a paying customer. no MAX i will not tone it down when some snooty kid tells me to shut up.

    This is not a hack... we have been testing the occurrence at Tier1ops. We have found that it appears went a player joins (we know the player so it is not a hacking issue) it states that he has modified files, but this is not the case, we have no fix at this point, but possible effected players will need to reinstall.

    so what is the fix? i noticed when i joined the server it didn't mention modified files, but i did notice someone else join with modified and thats the point the witch craft began. doesn't really go well when we are trying to test a game, is it the same issue in A2? or is that script kiddies?

    A very true and fustrating part that i saw yesterday, got on my first multiplayer server and just had people screwing everything up. To be honest i think its just the people who dont play arma for the arma experience but for day Z

    yes i think its the kids from COD and BF that want to come and make peoples lives a misery. the ability to turn FF on/off on the server might make things a little better and as said once these halfwits realise that they will get no attention they will simply go back to whence they came.

    so between this and the seagull testing, i wasted £20 for nothing at the moment. going to leave it now until BIS make some sort of patch so we can actually test a game (which is the idea of an Alpha release) give the feed back other than the seagull appears to have mad cow disease or some other seagull tried TK'ng me.

    yeah not entirely sure how we test this game unless its in editor only. i got this on saturday, i have tried MP several times only to see script kiddies in every server i join. so if you want me to test how the seagulls fly? i can tell you they don't go up or down very well but do go left and right rather well.

    as for weapons? unless you got frickin seagulls with frickin lazer beams strapped to their heads? i cant comment.

    i just hope this is fixed on the final otherwise its a good effort but a complete waste of money!

    head bob and scope movement is way too much, it makes sighting up on enemy at a decent distance near on impossible, even at close range its near on impossible. i have head bob turned right down.

    secondly again graphic lag is out of control as with A2, so not only do we buy a game we would like to enjoy but we also have to spend £600+ to upgrade or buy a computer that can handle it. i have 8gb of DDR2 installed on win7 yet its crushing the memory installed. ''please close programs ARMA3, low memory'' or something similar.

    the other isn't BIS related, it seems every moron has bought this so far and no matter the server (if you can find a decent ping that isn't full) the team killing on spawn is highly annoying. but as said this isn't a BIS problem.

    just tried taking a screen shot of the error i get when trying to enter a server, but rather than it taking the screen shot of whats on the screen it took one of what was behind it eg my desktop lol damn thing.

    i am not ungrateful to the modders at all, they are a very talented bunch for doing what they do. but now i have to go through all of it to delete the mods/keys and everything else so i can play one of my favorite servers, they got hit by script kiddies a few times so i think they have dropped back to vanilla and not accepting modded files/games.

    or i go through the rigmarall of uninstalling/reinstalling Arma and all the patches which takes a complete age to do.

    I have spent time downloading, installing and trying various addons but i really prefer the vanilla version.

    i am not sure if i am on my own here but i used to really enjoy playing on 7th cav server yet i simply can not find it in the server list anymore, all i see in RFT server list is DayZ ,DayZ DayZ DayZ! in regular A2 i can play one 3 servers the rest wont let me in because of the modded files on my system.

    so now after buying all the games/addons and everything else i can play on 3 servers....yeah just great! whats worse is all 3 of them servers are russian so i can not understand a thing they are saying, so team work is out of the window there!

    thanks for messing the game up guys it was the ONLY worthwhile game i had to play on my days off!

    i am confused!

    i downloaded the HUGE file and i get a DOS screen saying there is no content. i have absolutely no idea how this play with 6 works! i follow it to the letter but it says under the server name it will say play or download, i see no such thing.

    any help would kinda help.

    yes its not just this mod it is all of them with 6 there is no option to download/install?

    Thank You Mate, Thank You Very Much :) that worked :D :D

    My problem was solved by the Arma2 Support that I wrote about the problem, they had a very good attention to my problem and I thank them so much. The solution for me was:

    1. Create Arma 2 RFT shortcut on the desktop.

    2. Right-click on the shortcut and select "properties".

    3. Go to the "Shortcut" tab.

    4. Add this to the very end of the "Target" field: -mod=@BAF -mod=@PMC

    so the whole target field looks similar to this:

    "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\Arma 2 Reinforcements\arma2rft.exe" -mod=@BAF -mod=@PMC

    (I have only Arma2 and RFT, not OA)

    Hello, since the 1.62 was out I have not been able to play online, I'm desperate because no solution have worked for me.

    I have ARMA2 since release and Reinforcements after, they are both physical formats, not steam. I haven't OA. Not neccesary for me because I only play (played) online.

    Tried reinstalling them in the ways said in the postand in other posts, game run until 1.60, the moment I install 1.62 stops working and gives the errors.

    Have updated card drivers, also have formatted the drive. Also haven't find a solution for people that don't have OA, only ARMA2 and RFT.

    Mine worked perfectly in V1.58? its been that long since i had time to do any gaming i had to update first to 1.60 then 1.62 and now it wont work,

    tried all the above, all drivers upto date but i cant get the game to load,

    i have steam, i run steam as admin but A2 isn't installed to steam.

    this should be looked at by the devs and fixed, we shouldn't have to make fresh folders/directories etc to play the game just please fix the patch.

    come on guys play the game, something went wrong in a previous or recent patch that is upsetting the system that was never there before, i didn't have this issue with 1.07 so why now?

    i have had A2 OA for quite some time now but my pc struggled to play it, After i had seen on this site that it only uses 2 cores of the cpu i halfed my cores in settings and it plays effortlessly now, also i never went on servers and worked as a team (bad idea) with that and no mic it made the game a little dull.

    now i got me a new headset and it is now a completely different game also thanks to 7th cavelry game play and team work is superb, i had bought BF3 but its no longer BF its more like CoD4 on a larger scale which prompted me to come back to A2. i am now looking forward to A3 which will be just as awesome if not moreso.

    ps my wife wouldn't agree as she is now an A2 widow :lol:
