I noticed I was getting lower frame rates all of a sudden so I did a little research and found that wmpnetwk.exe (Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service) was taking up quite a bit of cpu resources. I initially went into services and stopped it and noticed my cpu went down to 1-2% usage. Ran the built-in ARMA2 benchmark 1 and "recovered" my lost frames. Obviously this service is used for file sharing with my network(specifically my son's xbox 360) I don't use it so I disabled it. It literally made 7 fps difference for my rig. I did a search here on the forums and didn't see any other posts about this. Figured I'd share, although ymmv.

I've been using this notifier since it was released. Works great!

Crossfire gives worst performance then single card for a few driver versions now. I think the best luck I had was 10.7 or 10.8 drivers. App profiles have not helped. Currently I'm using 10.10E drivers. So try it in single card mode. Actually I've had worse performance in all my games with CF enabled.

The sound is great but for me the ear pieces kill my ears. I'm using my turtle beach x41 now and they are light and wireless but not 7.1

With all the patches, driver updates and new app profiles, I have worse cf performance than with a single card. Right now I'm running just my one 5870 and I have no lod thrashing and the fps is smooth. With CF, performance goes down significantly. With that being said I don't believe it's a patch issue for me, I believe it's more of a driver profile problem. To be quite honest I haven't been really satisfied with cf since I bought the second card. I think in the future I'll stick to a single card solution. Oh btw what drivers are you using?

Have you cleaned the dust bunnies out of your case lately?

I think both sides of the political aisles has their commandos. We hear what we want to hear(me included). But my point is if people are willing to use a sporting event to pillage and plunder surely they would not hesitate to do the same thing in a financial crisis.

The Republicans asked that the extended unemployment benefits be paid for by cutting the budget in other areas. The Dems did not want to do that. It's called being fiscally responsible. This administration does not believe in being responsible (Bush didn't either but he had his reasons). Bottom line is the US is one crisis away from anarchy and this president is driving the car. I have had a pair for a while now. The sound is pretty good. The one thing I don't like about them are the ear pieces hurt my ears after about thirty minutes. Worth a shot though. If you have $200 bucks lying around get the turtle beach x41 they are 7.1 and work on xbox and my pc. They are awesome!
