  1. Both times I played, I found them in the same place: It all depends at which point in the mission you try to find them, I usually do it at the start ;) About time, no way of sleeping or making time any faster than what you can get with the +/- keys as far as I know.
  2. As I remember, Manhattan has a huge amount of bugs unfortunately, I got stuck there too the first couple of times. Eventually I watched a walkthrough on Youtube and did the mission in that EXACT order, just so I could say I'd completed it.. For me, completing that objective earlier in the mission made it work, leaving it until after the Chedaki bases seems to break the scripting here.

    Armory: My final feedback

You know, I just opened my player config file and gave myself $999,999.99 armory funds to unlock everything from the start ;) I wouldn't cheat at the actual game but the whole reason for the armory is to be able to play around with and get used to weapons and stuff before they're available in the actual campaign, no reason to spend ages unlocking the weapons you want to try.. The idea of being able to spawn as a chicken or a cow and then being asked to complete a human sized assault course could be pretty fun though :)
  4. Actually, while there's a thread about this mission open, I'd like to ask something. I never managed to complete this one, always run out of time with Lopotev escaping north and the mission ending. I usually go to Olegich in Staroye then either on to the camps or on to the quarry, usually by that time Shaftoe is on the radio giving me the 20 min deadline. So surely there's a way to complete this mission but I just can't do everything required in that time frame  What I'd like to ask, is: - When Shaftoe tells me to find Lopotev he says about the red car and the location, several times now I've traced the road north of Shakhovka then patrolled around Gorka but always end up with Lopotev getting away and mission failure. Is there a way to find this car or is it just an unwinnable objective? - I hear people talking about Bardak escaping in a red car, is this getting confused with Lopotev or are the two of them different? What is Bardak driving and where on earth is he likely to be if he's not at the power plant? I read in one of the walkthroughs that Bardak escapes by car when you reach the quarry, last time I did hear a car drive away but by the time I've legged it back to my car he's long gone, didn't manage to find him anywhere. I've tried talking to the power plant doorman both at the start of the mission and after helping Olegich (it's Olegich who gives you the hint to go to the power plant, after all) but he never gives much away, only gives me the hint about the quarry each time. Thanks in advance.

    Saving Valentina in Manhatten

Strange thing with Valentina, first time I tried that mission she spawned on the road outside FOB Manhattan just as we arrived there at the start of the mission. Me, having an itchy trigger finger, heard this revving car coming towards us and assumed it was a hostile and ordered my men to open fire - only to realize we'd just massacred an unarmed woman..oops :o Second time, now realizing she was part of the mission, she stops and gets out of the car but she takes one look at us and sprints back to her car and speeds off . Followed her for miles through the map until she reaches a dead end and jumps out of the car, the way she jumped out I was half expecting her to produce an AK47 and start shooting..but she just stood there and refused to talk to us. Third time, met her on the road west of Krasnostav, near where the US checkpoint is. This time she almost runs me over, then gets out and talks to me. Then she hops back over to her car and speeds off..and disappears under the wheels of an APC 100m away. Car gets pummeled, she appears uninjured and runs off into the woods, never to be seen again. Strange thing, until that point, I'd only rescued Dr. Sova on the previous mission and when she had started talking to me and acting like I remembered her, I'm like 'what on earth is this woman on about?' Frustrating mission but gave me a laugh or two when parts of the mission script went fubar :p

    Trapped Unit - Help

Ahh yeah, this one happens to me sometimes - last patch seems to have fixed many things but the AI and their path finding is still buggy in some areas ;). If you can't switch to another teammate in that mission, one thing you could try is using fast travel (if it's available in that mission, that is), that should shift your whole team to the point you choose on your map and they should hopefully spawn somewhere better. At least that usually works for me if one of my team gets stuck like that.
  7. Yep, it does start to slow down later on, problem I had with that was that it makes some wacky things happen. I did manage to find Lopotev, it was the most frustrating part of the game for me. Really the frustrating part is the exposure bug, the moment you try to zoom on your crosshairs or look in the direction of a light, the screen goes almost pitch black and takes a time to lighten up again. I had to play that part about 5 times because each time I ended up blind with a black screen and got hit by hostiles who apparently don't have the same night vision bug. Here's how it happened for me:
  8. About the two southern towns (Chernagorsk and Elektrozavodsk), I had the same problem with my units being cut to shreds by the couple of enemy tanks. Also, at this point my gunners were calling out targets but for some reason had stopped opening fire on some of them. I left all of my units to the west and crept around the outside of both towns in a T-72, using buildings for cover and took out the patrolling tanks myself..after that I let the units into the town. Don't want to hijack your thread, but can someone tell me what's the purpose of the three helis that control gave me? I set a waypoint over Elektrozavodsk and they did circle and take out some targets but as you say, about 50% of the time they tend to crash into each other or into trees. I gave up the other night at the point where I go to capture Lopotev - if I try to swim, my team drown, even if I leave them on the shore they seem to drown . Actually, I had downed a few by that time so perhaps I had told them to follow me by mistake :p The APCs I was given were destroyed by small arms fire somehow, I don't even know what happened to them as I never engaged them in combat. One of the walkthroughs said to use an APC (amphibious?) to cross the water to the island but this time around I don't seem to be able to buy equipment from any of the towns I capture, it's a long way back to HQ just to buy an APC. Also, does it matter if a town is taken back by the enemy? A couple of towns we took near base later got taken by the enemy again but unless I spend an hour ordering all of my team back across the map, there's not much I can do about it apart from wait for the AI teams to get the town under control again. Is this going to affect the outcome of the mission? EDIT: Another bug, did anyone else notice how the vehicle physics get really wacky during DOW? A couple of times I hit parked cars and they rebounded like ping pong balls and burst into flames, I managed to bounce a Lada off of a building and shoot it 40ft into the air in an impressive ball of flames just by nudging it with my tank. Also, I started with three T-72's but had to disband one because it somehow got flipped onto its roof while it was sitting still guarding a checkpoint. Then about 30 minutes later the same thing happened to the T-72 my crew were driving, told them to move and waited, then noticed they weren't moving on the map. When I got there the tank was on its roof wriggling like a beetle, luckily I managed to bounce that one back onto its feet by ramming it down a hill into a parked car using my own T-72.. Am I the only one with this bug?

    No Factories

The latest beta patch might help, they've changed the buying interface quite a bit in the patch and it works better for me. I kept getting the 'no factories' but in Badlands instead of DOW, for some reason before I put the patch in, building two factories in the base would work
  10. I think that what he means is that if you find Dr. Sova's body and talk to the guards, you can choose the 'Cut him down now" dialogue but it doesn't change anything in the campaign and you can't actually cut Sova down anyway even after you've killed the guards. I too wondered if there's a bug somewhere and if that was meant to become part of the storyline. Or does it become part of the 'evidence' objective? I don't remember..
  11. Thanks, that makes sense - I have them in danger most of the time, that must be why ;) I'm playing DOW as I write this, another bug/piece of advice to anyone is be careful of the enemy static launchers at the strongpoints, they can be very buggy..make sure you save before you get to them in each town. Just had one in Kamyshovo, my T-72 crew kept getting taken out by it but couldn't seem to destroy it. I crept over to kill the crew and he's sitting there 6 ft away facing me and firing at my units and I emptied two mags into him without killing him. Suddenly another enemy soldier spawns behind him out of thin air and falls dead to the ground, as that's happening the guy who was manning the launcher jumps out a meter or so to the right and starts shooting at me. At that point my bullets did hit him but as he falls to the ground my tank gunner shoots me in the back . Then at the next strongpoint in that town I get into the launcher as gunner to take down an enemy supply truck to the west, I click the menu to enter the gun and next thing I know I'm on the floor badly wounded with the screen flashing red and my #2 in command taking over and ordering everyone back to Elektrozavodsk which we just captured  Also, me and my team keep taking damage when exiting vehicles, didn't really notice until I installed latest beta patch - vehicles are never moving when we get out but over half of the time they get injured now  The campaign is great underneath, it's just all the bugs :D
  12. I had this bug too, thought I had somehow pushed them out of my inventory . This time I checked at the start and had NVG's equipped, it's still difficult to see in places because the exposure adjusts far too dark at times. Also doesn't help that the AI drivers don't use headlamps, for a time I was riding as passenger in an APC while I controlled units, had AI driving...no matter how many times I turned on the headlamps, they turn them back off when they get in as driver  Is this true? That would be another thing I didn't know about the game. Does it work with teammates? One thing which bugs me with the campaign is that no matter what weapons you buy, at the start of the next mission you're back to the M4 or AK, even on the missions which follow straight on from the last. I usually keep my team behind me so they're less likely to get damage, I try and buy weapons which have scopes. Yet my teammates still have the same weapons all through the campaign

Dogs of wars what the hell

Yeah, entirely different ending to what I saw. Basically, with the combination of the HDR darkness bug once it got dark, having no NV goggles and my team starting to ignore orders, I didn't really stand a chance  Because of bugs I missed some objectives in earlier missions, from what I read elsewhere, some of those affect the amount of help you get on DOW...we got none at all, even after Chernogorsk. Also what didn't help was the fact that I was going to kill Prizrak after I'd taken the final town in Badlands (it was nearby) but once you take that town the mission ends and the game assumed I'd failed the Prizrak objective. So this made things harder I believe. If you're interested, here's the ending I got. Things went wrong for the mission when I got near the Russian airbase, my two backup T-72's for some reason ignored my commands to stay back, rolled into the base and putted down the runway and got blown to bits: I'll try it again at some point but not yet :)

    Command Options Greyed Out!

You have to select members of your team first (press [F1],[F2],[F3],[F4] etc) The game documentation is pretty sketchy in some areas, it took me a while to work it out too. Hope this helps

    Patch 1.04 Stability Survey

Hi. I'll save the ingame bugs I've noticed for one of the other threads ;) I'm running the Steam version (that's patched to 1.04 I believe?), the only thing I can compare it to is the demo, that didn't run well for me at all. Stability seems good overall, except: - Occasional app freeze when you do ALT+TAB, I was switching to the manual a lot when I first started playing and hit this crash quite a few times. Sometimes holding ALT+TAB down will make it respond again but sometimes only a full restart will do it. I always pause the game when I switch to another window, I run ArmA mainly in windowed mode now because of this. - CTD on one of the early missions (Razor 2 I think), after about 5 mins of play the game would CTD - no warning, no stuttering or other problems, just crash without warning. Reverting to earlier save cured this, wasn't a graphics issue as it happened either on low or high graphics, framerate was good at the time. - Had a couple of corrupted savegames (mainly the autosaves), deleting those from the savegames folder fixes it, otherwise game crashes when it tries to load them. - Had a graphics corruption bug about twice, both times when going into the menus. Game freezes and everything is garbled up and different colours, then I get a CTD and a Windows crash box saying my graphics drivers had stopped working and to restart my computer . As far as I can tell, it's not my gfx card, it was running under 50 degrees both times and it never happens ingame, only in the menus. I'm running a Core Duo 3.15GHz, BFG 9800GTX+ 1GB, 4GB of Kingston, Win XP Pro if any of that helps
