How Satisfied with Arma2 Are you??
Antigoon replied to mattyh1986's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I love it! Arma 2 has given me my best gaming experiences sofar. Ofcourse these were all in multiplayer servers where teamplay is the norm. But I can imagine if you only play SP, you can get a bit frustrated with the AI. In terms of performance, I have no problems but then again, I might not be as demanding as some hardcore gamers are :D -
And do try the editor! It may seem a bit daunting at first, but once you get going ,you realise that you can make really nice replayable missions yourself! In fact ,at a certain point you can hardly keep up with your own inspiration and ideas :)

Too bad about the server crash, but I enjoyed the games tonight, Thx fellas!

Why ArmA2 players are smarter then CS/COD.
Antigoon replied to granQ's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I have a suspicion we might play on the same server regularly and, yes, the statement in bold definately applies to me:D -
Thx for the help fellas, and really enjoyed the games (especially the last mission on quesh). Hopefully i'll get my mic working next time, make communicating a bit easier.

Everything installed fine second time around, problem was I had to refresh the adress a couple of times before I got the download addons option. After that it was pretty quick since I already have ACE installed. Now only to find your server:D It doesn't come up in my browser and I can't find the remote adress in the manual (seems I'm having a bad pc-day lol)
-
I don't know Galzohar, everything worked fine upto step 11 in the Zeus manual, meaning the actual downloading of the add-ons. I'll give it another try as it seems the problem is on my side, if it works fine for just about everybody else.

Tried to use the yoma tool, but it gave me an error after the first three updates (I believe they are @cba). Waited a good long while after that since it said "calculating", but nothing happened. Updating ACE with six-updater works like a charm for me, so I don't understand why it hangs on a mod that is already installed...? Easiest thing for me would be to download the @zcommon and install it on my own, but since they don't give you that option ,I guess I'll have to pass on playing on this server. Too bad cause I really like the gameplay as shown in the videos...

Strange, I play coop missions every weekend with no respawn and although it's only up to 20 players, the server fills up within half an hour!!

You can't Play this game Multiplayer.
Antigoon replied to Magnum0311's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
Multiplayer is the reason I play Arma2 and Arma1 before that. Ofcourse you need to look around a bit for the good servers.... -
New Sound Mod in the making, slowly but surely
Antigoon replied to chammy's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Thx Ordeal and Willa, it worked! However I did get an error saying 'Addon 'CSM2_c_wep_mg' requires addon 'acex_sm_sound_wep_mg' I just clicked ok and the game started up. Is this an issue or not? -
New Sound Mod in the making, slowly but surely
Antigoon replied to chammy's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I want to try out CSM2 and have installed it. But what do I do with the userconfig? If I place it in the Arma directory it replaces the previous one wich is full of ACE stuff.. Now I would still like to be able to use ACE without any problems, CSM2 I'll use in a vanilla version. Sry, but I'm a complete retard when it comes to this kind of stuff :o Can anyone help me with this? -
Sound becoming distorted after 2 hours of play
Antigoon posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I'm not sure this is the right place to ask this question, as I'm not sure it has anything to do with Arma, but maybe someone has experienced similar problems. I use a USB headset wich is plugged into a usb port on the front of my pc. Each time I play between 2 to 3 hours, the sound becomes completely distorted. Unplugging the headset and plugging it back in ,the sound is restored, meaning no more distortion! The big problem is, that the sound doesn't return in Arma, so I need to restart the game each time (more often then not I'm playing serious coop with up to 20 players and I have to continue 'deaf ' as a restart means death in the mission). My question is ,is there a way to get Arma to find it's sound again after plugging the headset back in? (not exactly sure how to say it, but make it find the right path or output again..) I use a Xtreme Gamer soundcard with Windows 7 Ultimate 64b. -
If you're asking about whether or not your pc can play Arma2 with decent settings and framerates, you should look at this thread; http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=72181 As far as I'm concerned it's one of the best games ever, together with its predecessors!

A way to open someone elses .pbo mission in editor?
Antigoon replied to jpinard's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
Can you just view the files and scripts? Or can you actually unpack the pbo into its components and view the mission in the editor? (markers, triggers, modules and so on the map?) -
I think it's called "keep low", not sure though. Also if you have an english os, you can try one of those voice activated programs mentioned on this forum. I know it made single player interesting again for me, as I used to only play multiplayer (wich you should try out btw)!

Started Arma2 at 15.....that makes you,what....16? Kind of hard to tell if you turned out fine! Still a few years to go,no?:386:

Twice a week I play online coop with up to 20 players. I don't think any other game can come even close to what Arma has to offer. Once you experience true teamplay and tactics, it's hard to think about playing other typical FPS, wich are too fastpaced and nervous for my age anyhow. In single player I'd recommend using VAC.Since a couple of guys posted their profiles, I've been trying those out and although sp wasn't what I bought the game for, it's starting to become very appealing due to the ease with wich you can command your team around! Works beautifully! Gets you suddenly interested in working with the editor, wich opens up a whole new dimension to the game. The two games that I continue to play through the years (I've played many more, but these I always come back to) have been buggy since release. But maybe that's due to the scope of the game. It certainly hasn't stopped me from enjoying the best games I've had so far. And although this isn't WoW, there always seems to be a good amount of players online at any time, atleast for my liking. I'm a jazz fan and musician. Arguably, these days it's not the most popular style of music. But (when I'm good financially) I'll take a jazz gig over anything, even if it pays less money. Bad comparison maybe, but I feel the same way about Arma! :dancehead:

Thx for putting in so much work and sharing the results with us. Seems like a lot of work and testing to get it right.

Advanced Artillery Request System
Antigoon replied to Bon's topic in ARMA 2 & OA : MISSIONS - Editing & Scripting
Total editing noob here :o What exactly do you do with: Now, you might probably have a CfgSounds class defined already, then only copy the line #include “bon_artillery\Description.ext†INTO your CfgSounds class. I wouln't even know where to find 'CfgSounds class' ,let alone define it? The rest of the install explanations in the manual, I can find where I need to put them, however it feels asthough I'm missing a couple of obvious steps. -
Thx for the interest you've shown, eggbeast. I'll try the mp-versions.

This, and you had an option to call helicopters, to get you out of some hotspots or save you from an awfully long stroll through deserts or forests :D

On Kronzky's site there's a nice adjustable targetrange. http://kronzky.info/targetrange/index.htm

What Is Wrong With This Game !!??
Antigoon replied to poOBah.'s topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Strange, I've had that happen to me yesterday...(esc key not working). After restarting it all worked normal again. First time that happened though.
