Yeah, come over to my place and play it on the xbox i could use a 2nd player for co op lol. Anyway DRM puts waaay to many people off. PC Gamer UK summed it brilliantly with their revie of AC2 "It's Brilliant...Don't buy it" (because it requires a constant net connection and constant piracy checking to play).

Yeh i got the uv thing figured before, so thats all fixed now anyway. Looks like this should be an easy fix for next release.

The video games market has moved away from indepth games that take 20+ hours to complete and moved towards shorter games that take around 5 hours that are full of explosions and quick and easy to pick up gameplay. We keep blaming developers and saying "OMG how can they do this!?!?!" well the answer is simple. The shorter, easier more action oriented games sell for the exact same price as any other game, they have shorter development times and sell at much higher volumes (COD:MW2 anyone?). Add to this that people can use nostalgia or brand recognition to take an older games franchise and turn it into one of these newer type games and you are onto a winner every time. Is it unfortunate for mature gamers, yes...will it lead to the industry becoming samey and stale, maybe although i find it hard to believe there won't eventually be some kind of backlash as gamers continue to age. However we all forget sometimes games companies don't make games for gamers they make them for profits thats why the churn out sequel after sequel of dumbed down crap. Anyway getting back onto the topic of splinter cell i believe that is exactly what we have seen happen. Having said that the ubi guys did at least make an effort with conviction to make it an interesting action/stealth game that while i bears little resemblence to the original is still fun and entertaining in its own right.

ok lemme ask you this...did just reload a save after you patched and try playing through? Because if you did thats why it won't work, in fact im suprised it loaded. You may have to start the relevant mission block over again after installing 1.05

yeh it can be a pain i did find some results in the arma2 editing forum though, but that was a long time again. Good luck with it.

that's why i used the word "can"...double agent was not a good game but conviction is good if judge on it's own merits. I have posted several times here saying its not really an SC game though.

It also amuses me that a lot of people on here didn't seem to realise that the link posted with the news from ubi was actually a joke. Lot of people up in arms about ubi forcing us to come to them for games lol. Anyway as the poster above me says change can be a good thing. I bought this for the xbox to avoid any crappy drm issues and its a good game. like i said before more similar to 24 or the bourne movies but still nonetheless fun.

ok just been through all 600 plus pages on mil photos and found a plethora of pictures showing different chest rigs, pouches and vests. Here are my questions please respond and give me some clarification guys. I am going to do a wide variety of units...like probably another 100+ variants, camo patches, helmets, vests etc so i really need to know. Ok i understand the vest i have on my guys right now is the older type but it still seems like a lot of guys (particularly KCT and Marines in afghan) are wearing it. My question is for the new vest is it like this: or like this? (this second one i think is a tactical vest which leads me on to my 2nd question). do you guys do what the belgian army does and wearing a ballistic vest (i.e. the first pic) and then put that 2nd vest over the top or are you just wearing the first vest? any help i much appreciated i don't want to waste a day making a vest that is innacurate or that you guys dont use!

I have to admit its not really a classic splinter cell game but at least they admitted that going in. Im so dissapointed in games moving away from what made the originals great i just accept each game on its own merits now and conviction is basically 24 the game (except i don't like 24 the tv show lol).

tried the mission and its cool but when i place the shark in the editor myself it just bleeds and dies lol...im suffering from a lack of sleep so maybe thats what it is but what am i missing?

there is very little difference between the two from a purely aesthetic stand point, at least in sor far as my modding, or modelling will take me :) so thats fine i can tweak the mich helmet i have to suit :D p.s. could also use information on the squad make up of Dutch Marines, how many in a squad and what roles etc.

Im not sure what u mean exactly? I plan to add more of the guys with the regular helmets and also do some vest variants. I also hope to add some guys with MIH typle helmets as seen in Aghanistan.

odd question and i dont suppose it could happen, but is there any chance of getting this as a playable unit, i have several amusing videos i would like to create :D

well ive flattened the webbing out significantly and as you can see it is place more accurately on the helmet now, im pretty happy with it as it is... :D thanks for the feedback, it looks like i wont be converting to normals after all. more questions. does the marine badge appear on both arms or just the left one and also do you guys use any C7s at all or is it all C8s (army and marines i mean now)!
