Well I fixed it, and it was an easy fix. I just got the new drivers for my graphics card, BTW with my settings I get an average of 62 fps, so yeah ^_^

Did the defrag, my settings are there in the image btw. The menus take just as long, but its a 4second freeze, the mouse appears, then 2-3 more seconds. Same with "esc" and gear. Specs: Q6600 @ 2.4ghz 2gigs ram WinXP Service pack 2 GTX 250 (I know it sucks but I don't really care..) I get high fps with my current settings.. around 80. Also, if i die in a mission, the menu that pops up take six seconds to load.. So it's leading me to believe that this problem occurs when something else happens in-game, for example, the map popping up, gear, the esc menu, the suspend menu, steams game overlay.. everything! BUT! Alt-tabbing is extremely fast, and no problems occur! ---------- Post added at 09:21 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:19 AM ---------- But the defrag has made everything else faster :D

I've had this problem since day one, yet my friends don't seem to be affected by this. Whenever I press "esc, m, gear" or anyother menu really, it takes 6 seconds for me to do anything with it. It's like my game freezes for six seconds, same with closing! Any fixes would be appreciated.
