  1. Well if you checked the 3rd sticky in this section you would see the post by Placebo stating No Editing threads here please.

Check the forum rules first and you wont get any snide comments. The moderators have thier work cut out moderating these forums and it helps when people read the rules and stickies that are there for a reason.

  2. Also, should this be used in a PvP enviroment, would both sides share both channel sets? Eg, If a blufor puts down a Ch2 bomb, a redfor could set it off by triggering Ch2?

Yeah can just imagine all BLUFOR with a satchel in their hands and one OPFOR on a hill sniggering to himself when he depresses the detonator and see's all the BLUFOR wiped out.

But on Topic its a good idea and i would love to see the toss satchel option.

  3. Hi i was just wondering i came upon a little problem earlier whilst messing round in the boot camp i chose the UNmanned flight section and choose to use the ULB first off.

Whilst using it there were a few problems one being that some of its controls use the NUMPAD section of the keyboard but i have a ZBOARD with a gaming keyset in it and it doesnt have a numpad is there any way of reassigning the keys?

  4. If it had to be any faction i would suggest IRAN ties in brilliantly with current events, say the BLUFOR US and the UK (america wont go to war without us) invade IRAN to remove the aspect of them gaining tactical nuclear weapons.

With the way things are you could bring a few more factions into it, germany, netherlands, estonians etc for BLUFOR who have moved up from the afghanistan deployment to the US attacking from IRAQ. Russia and china siding with IRAN.

    Just an idea.

  5. The UK only have carrier based harriers to provide CAP so they are intended in that role as air interceptors, but are equally able to provide CAS. We unlike the states have no proper carriers per se. we have ski ramp equipped pocket carriers as such. So we cant launch and recieve conventional aircraft to my knowledge.

  6. I never said it can't be involved in aerial combat, I simply stated it's not used for aerial combat. It can indeed get involved in aerial combat, but it's never used specifically for that.

My freind can i point you towards the falklands war where the Harrier was intentionally used as a air to air fighter providing CAP to the fleet against the argies planes. And it won the air war and the argies respected the plane for what it did.

Most planes that are out there today are primarily used in CAS because the wars that are taking place today are against insurgencies that very rarely have any air assets what so ever.

  7. I tested it in the editor right now and I must say that I always hit the air vehicle when it just passed me and the missile only missed or got distracted by flares when the chopper could pop more than 2-3 flares. A shot from in front of the chopper always resulted in a hit.

Yeah for some reason it seems that no matter what the distance if releasing facing the cockpit the flares never affect the lock of the stinger.

  8. We also need to make sure that all the vehicle lights work as well like the indicators brake lights other wise youll be pulled over by the local cops and make sure you carry your license and registration. OH and hide the weed.

  9. Great, so because your sergeant said so, we modders must give up any historical mods in ArmA2. Nice.

I never said give up on any mods dont know where you got that from TBH. but theres a lot more issues to be sorted out with the game before they start adding Knifes/Bayonets to a MODERN COMBAT MILSIM. I have great respect for the modders of this community so please dont try belittling any comments i make that are my opinion.

@ darkhorse i never said that knifes/bayonets are never used in RL but in game tell me how many times it is needed that you require the use of a melee weapon of some sort. Ive played since ARMA1 and never needed it.

Its my opinion that if implemented it just takes developer resources away from fixing/changing more needed problems with this game.

  10. "Honestly if you need to use a knife or a melee weapon you havent done your job right."

A quote from my sergeant during my infantry training at catterick Garrison. Also during my specialised training it was said that if you need a melee weapon during a firefight your "F***ED".

I spent time in afghanistan and iraq as part of a task force and none of my men or fellow soldiers needed to resort to melee weapons. because we did the job properly.

I think BIS needs to work on the engine more and the game logic itself rather than adding unneeded ancillaries like melee weapons.

    10th Special Forces Group

Welcome to the 10th SFG recruitment thread here is where you will find all the info we beleive you will need to make a decision in joining a unit of like minded players who enjoy playing the game.

We have one fulltime ODA as well as a ODB as well and so we usually operate during missions as small teams usally 3-6 men depending on objectives. We have members choose their preferred MOS during the application process and this is where you will put a lot of work into your specialised field.

The MOS options that are available are as follows:-

    WEAPONS SERGEANT (18B)

Special Forces Weapons Sergeants are the weapons specialists. They're capable of operating and maintaining a wide variety of U.S., Allied and other foreign weaponry. Some of your tasks might include maintaining proficiency with all foreign high-density light and heavy weapons; selecting weapons placements and sites; assigning targets and areas of fire.

    ENGINEERING SERGEANT (18C)

Special Forces Engineering Sergeants are specialists across a wide range of disciplines. Some of your tasks may include working in demolitions, explosives, land and water navigation duties, field fortification, bridging, rigging, reconnaissance and sabotage operations.

    MEDICAL SERGEANT (18D)

Special Forces Medical Sergeants are considered to be the finest first-response/trauma medical technicians in the world. Though they're primarily trained with an emphasis on trauma medicine.

    COMMUNICATIONS SERGEANT (18E)

Special Forces Communications Sergeants operate every kind of communications gear, from encrypted satellite communications systems to old-style, high-frequency (HF) Morse Code systems. They also have serious computer/networking skills and know several computer languages.

    ASSISTANT OPERATIONS/INTELLIGENCE NCO (18F)

Since many SF missions require being behind the lines in hostile areas, each team is given an 18F Intelligence Specialist. The 18F collects and evaluates information for transmission, and supplies vital data on the enemy.

    OPERATIONS SERGEANT (18Z)

The Operations Sergeant is responsible for the overall organization, functionality and training of an SF team. He makes sure the team is outfitted correctly and supports the ODA commander (18A).

We also cross train certain members so whenever deployed we have someone who knows every aspect of SF Operations.

We are as a unit multi national although the majority of the unit are from the US we also have members from across the globe including the UK, Germany etc. We have a 64 man server and also access to a privately owned 64 man server.

The 10th SFG also has a core of brilliant ADDON and mission makers/scritpers if there is something we dont know we know someone who does.

So if you think this sort of unit sounds like just what you are looking for head over to our WEBSITE or hop onto our TS3 and talk to one of our operators.
