Mouse lag.. is this really part of the game?

Re mouse-smoothing, thanks guys, I hadn't noticed that setting, and switching it down to zero has helped a lot - I can now play with no mouse lag at all at min detail. (Although to get the same responsiveness at some of the higher vid settings I have to look at the ground.. seems this is one resource-hungry game!). Going to tweak settings etc and look for a good compromise, but it's good to know that a playable config is possible! :D
  2. Ok this is a last-ditch attempt to get some play out of the game. My system is WinXP, Q9650 Core2 Quad 3ghz, 4Gb RAM, XFX GTX260 Black Edition. My mouse is a Logitech MX518 and the driver is the regular windows 'HID-compliant mouse'. I've set up my Nvidia drivers to force v-sync off, with max pre-rendered frames set to 1. I'm running Arma II patched to 1.04 and set to the lowest possible graphic detail. I have the aiming deadzone set to 0. Every action in-game feels clumsy, imprecise, and 'floaty', because even having taken all the above measures, there's still a very, very perceptible delay between me moving the mouse and the crosshair catching up. This is really ruining the game for me. There's no way in hell I can shoot at something and hit it, because by the time the crosshair's caught up to where I'm trying to aim, the target's disappeared behind a tree or building! I don't have this problem in any other game (although in some cases it's necessary to switch off v-sync to get there, but which I've done in this case as well). I've read up a load of posts on various forums on this, and have seen a few replies along the lines of 'the game introduces a delay to simulate realism'. I can't say I buy into that whole line of argument, as a) I could do better at pointing something at something else than the game's allowing me to, and b) the game's simulating someone that undoubtedly has far better reactions and training than I! But maybe they're right anyway... So my question is, is there some way to get rid of this mouse lag, or should just I cut my losses and uninstall?
