Keep getting that error. Seems to be everyone that uses blastcore on the server also gets it

Chill, sounds great and can't wait for this new map. But please release the cave version. I have been waiting for this since you said something about it. It would be excellent on an already awesome map. Your map making is superb, can't wait

As we were testing this map in our unit, we found that Fallujah1.0 will sometimes find its way into the mission.sqm, even if you have 1.1.
I know you guys are careful to use OA buildings, but some of the Mosques and mechanics buildings would fit in rather nicely.
Also the government center, might be nice to use some other buildings (OA), take the American flag away (no one was able to fly an American flag at an Iraqi Gov Center) and Highway 11 is really Highway 10.
Please add some Mosques though, and sprinkle in some OA buildings, just to spruce the map up some.

i got a question, is it easy to kill somebody, how do you feel after it (if your aloud to say)It was the most scary yet satisfying feeling in the world, no drug, nothing, can match the way I felt after my first kill. The scary part is that it feels so good.
Another poster asked, about sticking your head up when rounds are coming in. When the shit is going down it is almost like an out of body experience, time does not exist, there is a level of focus that cannot be described, all of your senses are on. But a combat experienced soldier will always tell you, alot of it is just dumb blind luck, stick your head up at the wrong time and boom, something bad happens. When I got my first Purple Heart I stuck my head up over the lip of a roof in Ramadi and a RPG blew up on the lip, ruining my Oakleys and leaving me some nice facial scars. If I would have waited two seconds more I would have been fine. Just pure dumb luck.

As to guys taking punishment from rounds and living. Most of the time it due to the green tip NATO 5.56. It is designed not to tumble upon impact thus making damage not as bad. In my personal combat experience I saw guys walk off after taking a burst of 7.62 from a 240 to the chest (he died farther down the street) and then I saw guys die from a hole the size of your little finger nail through their armpits (lungs and heart). It depends on where the round hits, what it tears through and the amount of blood loss, internally and externally, the round has caused. It can take a man ten minutes to bleed out or two, what he decides to do in that time is his deal, based on what he can still function with.
So yes most of them are fanatical and will charge/hold to their death, but it doesn't make them superhuman, they just have the ideology to die for their cause. They are taught that their life is not greater than the Jihad.
US troops are also taught that the unit is more powerful than the individual and thus you see brave/crazy things done by them as well.
In reality it boils down to believing in the cause you are fighting for, whether it is religious ideology or love for your brothers in arms that causes these perceived superhuman acts.
One of the things that sticks out most from my combat tours is that you just have to be there, and witness some of these things yourself to even believe they can happen. There was nothing that prepared me for what I saw or experienced, books, movies, nothing. You just have to be there, and even then you are scratching your head going how the fuck did that guy just walk off.

8 years US Army Infantry, two combat tours in Iraq.
1)M16 at a 300 meter target is something any rifleman should be able to hit with one to two shots. Combat situation could take half a mag, especially with a M68 CCO (Aimpoint) or with a moving target.
2) Suppressive fire does work in real life and in reality easily 3/4 of rounds fired in combat are fired to suppress. It is very effective against a real person/people, a couple of examples would be using suppressive fires to cut off manuever possibilities for the enemy, or used to support friendly manuevers against an enemy position. One thing to remember is that suppressive fire is usually done with deliberate fire, meaning the individual rifleman fires one shot every 5 seconds and the automatic weapons talking (example
)2B) We would use Traveling, Traveling Overwatch and Bounding Overwatch all the time. In cities, with vehichles. As to haphazard.... Sometimes in combat, the only move to make is one were you or a buddy could die making it. It is done because you care about your buddies, so you just say fuck it and do it.
3) In the US Army we use a acronym called METT-TC. It stands for
Mission
Enemy
Terrain and Weather
Troops and Support Available
Time Available
Civilian Considerations
The easy answer to any tactical question is always that it is METT-TC dependent.
It is part of the 8 Troop Leading Procedures and is considered during every mission planning phase by the patrol or operation leadership. But yes a commander will always prefer to have the best odds he can, but it is always METT-TC dependent
I hope that kind of answers your questions

Didn't really know where this was suppose to go so if a mod thinks it should go into another topic then please move it
I was wondering if there is a way to use the OA assault pack placement system but with the ACE configuration in it. I would like to make some new assault packs, I like the way the OA assault packs proxy is placed on units, but use ACE and would like to continue using their backpack system with the new assault packs
Any advice, I imagine it has some scripting/config work that needs doing and I really have no idea how to even get started going in that direction so any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

I dont want toy pay alot of money in a videocard, just enought for play great this game (and others i have). If is possible maximum settings, or nearly maximum, or at least high or very highWell, people pay a lot of money and still can't max it out, so might want to set your goals a little bit lower or be ready to open your wallet some more. But with a ATI 5850 you can put everything on high for the most part

hey Chill, how are the caves shaping up?

Disabled Combat Veteran. Wish it could still be Military though

31 and retired!

Ive also done some work on the main effects obv like smoke grenades and the TOW smoke as someone stated bla bla
OP
Those were the most realistic smoke grenades. I hope you don't change it to much. Maybe just make the color stronger if you could, that would be the only change IMO

I think it is the ZeusGLX.pbo that causes the AI to act like a child with ADHD

I have an
AMD 955BE @3.7
4GB DDR3 Ram
Asus 5850 Direct CU
I was thinking of switching over to a
Intel I7 2600 Sandy Bridge
adding 4 GB DDR3 ram to what I have already
EVGA Superclocked GTX570.
I already run Arma2 with an SSD so I really only need to know, is that a good upgrade? Is that a smart upgrade? I only play Arma2 for the most part with photoshop and video editing.
I am learning more and more about Computers as the time goes on but would like to know if this is blowing extra cash or a good upgrade

I can think of two pretty long and intense firefights I have had in MP with my squad
1. On Aiaktalik, eastern section, we could only pop up and fire a couple of shots because we were receiving pretty heavy accurate direct fire. Lasted around two hours give or take 15 minutes. Had CAS missions coming in danger close, got pretty intense.
2. In South Zargabad, Shabaz I think the town is called, we had to raid it looking for weapons and intel. Long story short, after close to 2 hours getting into the village, we were held up for close to 30 minutes at one compound, anyway we tried to approach it we would take heavy MG fire. Also had a blackhawk take DsHK fire, go spinning out of control just to crash land in the field to the south. The pilot got the bird down but died in the process. It was a crazy op, but awesome nonetheless
The first mission was using ACE, UPSMon and GL4
The second mission was using ACE and Zeus AI
Both missions we were taking very heavy fire for the whole time though, two of my most memorable missions

Any chance you could put in a code or param to call for defensive positions? I know there is the disable param but I would like to see what you guys could do with a editor called defensive stance for the AI ie look for cover or occupy buildings/static weapons maybe set up ambushes in the area. I love the enhancements you guys have already made and think this would help alot of us mission makers.

@Specter
Just go into the mission.sqm and delete it from the addons or auto addons list, then you and your friend can both play it. Just don't save it as a pbo until you do that

We use Blastcore 1.1 with the latest version of ACE on our server and have had no problems yet.Not every member of TF86 uses blastcore but so far we have had the long range 40mm problem and also a couple of members had their in game sound just go out midgame.
Still is an awesome job and looks amazing
