    Hello, Does anyone know any mod that increases squad dispersion? I'm not talking about weapon dispersion, but the distance between squad leader (player) and the rest of the squad. Very often AI decides to follow player, but about 50 meters behind, sometimes so far away, that they get lost. Idea is, they should keep normal formation, and if someone gets too much behind - run and catch up. This is a problem even when there are 2 soldier team (for example, sniper and spotter). The AI squadmate gets behind well too much, and I have to wait forever for him to catch up. It would be perfect if he would follow 2 meters behind, side by side, or, in combat, like 10 meters (to avoid 1 grenade killing whole squad). I'm using ACE, nothing more. Which mod fixes this thing? I tried ECS, GL3, few others (don't remember). Please suggest something. I can't find anything, while this should be very easy thing to mod (I guess). I would very much appreciate any advice.

    Also, many bushes are floating. I think that lowplants would be good solution... could someone extract it and upload to some site, please?   6. Hello, I'm playing ARMA on my Dell 1555 Studio laptop. I can run game with fine FPS in most cases, but vegetation is killing it, especially in Northern Sahrani. I'm looking for replacement textures. I have lowplants11 in my computer, but can't install it - get errors. Tried re-downloading, but no success. I think installer doesn't like my Windows 7 64bit. Maybe someone has lowplants installed, and can upload it? If not, is there another replacement low-end vegetation textures? I found some, but all links are dead... Please help...

    Thank you for your reply. I have tried proper plants - but they don't seem to have any effect on FPS. That replacement with Operation Flashpoint textures is good, but it has serious problems with AI sight blocking - sometimes I clearly come out of bush, and enemy AI cannot see me. Any fix for that?

  9. Hello, I've got ARMA, updated to version 1.14. I have noticed that sometimes, especially in covert operations, soldiers on team start firing on enemy soldiers when they are close, even though I tell them to hold fire. The little red sign which is drawn by the pictures of teammates, meaning that they are holding fire, disappears. If I tell them to hold fire again, that sign appears for a second, and then disappears again. I understand that if AI soldier is spotted and shot at, he will return fire even when told to hold fire. This was normal in Operation Flashpoint. But in ARMA AI initiate contact themselves even when no one is shooting at them, and they don't listen to hold fire command. Sometimes it is impossible to make them retreat from a fight: they rush into it, and no "move", "stand", "disengage", "hold fire" commands make them stop firing and running for nearby cover or retreating at all. So, why is this happening? How can I make AI hold fire, and not ruin covert operation when there is no threat? I would appreciate any help. P.S. I use no modifications, nothing, just patches up to 1.14.

    Well, usually I use "stealth" mode. this mode also should work like "aware" or "safe", right?

    Hello, people, I'm having problems with ARMA's performance. My computer is laptop, Dell Studio 1555. With medium settings I get 30-60 fps in most situations. The problem is vegetation. When I'm in forest, or looking through optic sights to the forest, fps drops a lot, to about 15-20, sometimes lower. With the lowest possible settings, I can get constant 20 fps in forests, but neither the performance, neither the visual quallity satisfies my. It looks like trees are fps killers. Is it possible to lower vegetation textures without lowering the rest of textures? Or make ARMA automatically switch to lower textures if fps are low? Or download some lower quallity textures, which would increase performance? All drivers are up to date. My OS is Windows XP PRO SP3. I would appreciate any help. With my laptop, game runs smoothly in mid settings, but forests make game unplayable.

    Why people here are so rude? You don't even know if he has legit version. Just if it's possible, it doesn't mean it is so. FADE isn't perfect. Sometimes there can be mistakes, I heard many times about it. So don't call someone a criminal without proof.

    Well, I don't have any more problems with vegetation, but thanks :) But the shadows... Even with them set to low, fps drops about 20. While in OFP, for example, it dropped only about 2-3 when enabled. Why such difference? One more thing: I played OFP2, which seemed to me to have much better graphics than ARMA, with dynamic shadows, lightning, and so on, and I had constant 40 fps. What's so wrong with ARMA?

    Just tried - man, that works perfectly. My fps have increased at least 5. Thank you very much! I just noticed, that shadows eats my fps even more than vegetation! If I disable shadows at all, I have constant 40 fps. With shadows set to low, normal or high I have same 20-25 fps. And I love the high settings shadows so much :( Is there any way to get shadows without such drop in fps?

  17. I also have this problem with saving/loading. When I save game, and load it without exiting, everything is ok. But if I save, quit mission, and load again, I can't adjust sights anymore, although the range card is still in the map. Any suggestions on how to fix it? Please? :confused:

    Hello, people, I recently noticed strange tree textures in ofp. I have a clean install, with only WW4 addon - nothing else. See the screenshot, the tree above the aiming cursor: http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/6802/27532619.jpg As I get closer to the tree, textures start to change slowly into the higher resolution ones, and these look good. If I get further away from the tree, textures become as the ones you see in the screenshot. I'm not sure this happens with all the tree textures - I think just with some. What can I do about it?

    well, you might be right. But my computer is crap, almost 10 years old. I doubt there is a point to invest into new graphics card. Maybe it's time to look for a new computer :/

    Tried all your suggestions. Same problem, though. Strange thing is, that I don't recall having this problem before. It seems like that these textures become corrupted randomly: look at this screenshot: http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/6021/86966476.jpg Not only textures in the game, but also the small images like here, representing differrent maps, are corrupted. One more interesting thing: I started to notice same problem in other games, too. For example, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. the same thing with textures. They become ugly when you get close to some object. So, maybe this problem isn't with the settings in the game?

    In the first case, the problem persists. In the second case (running in window), problem persists too, with both resolutions.. Textures are still of very low quality. Yes, there is a control panel of my ATI card. However, I do not know what to tweak. If you could suggest, I could try. Thanks

    Took one more screenshot today. Please, take a look: http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/8189/67990419.jpg As you may see here, tree in front of me is in terribly bad texture quality. I assume such texture should be only used by Flashpoint when I'm 1km or more from that tree. In this distance, texture should be same quality as the trees you may see on left and right of the screen. Also, look at the top of the screenshot. These textures are also terrible. Any suggestions? :( EDIT: Wow! Just after writing this post (before editing it) I alt-tabed back to the game, and this time, I got this: http://img44.imageshack.us/img44/3563/23996502.jpg Now textures are even worse. Maybe this problem is related with alt-tabing out and back in the game? If so, what may be the cause?

    Sanctuary, yes, I tried to lower fps setting. I do noticed a drop in fps, but absolutely no increase in video quality. Walter_E_Kurtz, well, no, I'm runing game on PC, not laptop. It is old, however. If I enable Direct 3D HW T&L, I get weird looking human figures: for example, soldier legs are missing sometimes, shadows are flickering. My video card drivers are up to date, if you may suspect that. My video card is ATI Radeon 9200, 128mb. My view distance is set to 998, although I find this much too low. However, raising it beyond 1000 creates noticable fps drop with every additional 200 metres. My ground textures are set to "low". Higher ones causes big fps drop, and no significant increase in quality. This weekend I'll try increasing texture size to 512, and will report result. Any other suggestions on this texture problem?
