I don't think its about making just another mod. Its more about a diffrent setting and pace. I can imagine that working on USAF aircraft all the time could get a little tiring after a while. They can always come back with a new mindset and fresh creativity, otherwise it becomes a meat grinder where everything is supposedly broken and need fixing, I've seen in happen to other mods before, its not pretty. Taking the focus of it for a while can be good. Its can be a more effective way of working in the long run.

Doesn't sound like it cut out, usually and it certainly was close filmed close to where the plane crashed.

Planes create big fireballs alright, but what I'm wondering if any of the onboard munitions ever explode during a (high speed) crash? One thing I noticed in this clip that Arma sometimes gets wrong. Is that in a slow crash like this one, there's hardly any sound. The loudest noise is that of the ejector seat. But there's no massive boom as Arma makes us believe :)
  4. Hi, I'm having trouble with the launcher. Whenever I try to launch my game I get an error: Application load error P:0000065434 Any idea what might be causing this and how to solve it? Thanks in advance.

    F/A-18X Black Wasp

Hey what happened to my awesome homer comment? Yeah. All the upgraded gen 4 and gen 4.5 aircraft make use of a large touchscreen display. Its installed in the F-15SE and the SU-35 aswell :p

Speaking of A-10's, I have a little request/tip for the Black Wasp and perhaps also the Super Hornet. In the latest update of Perals A-10 (v1.0). I noticed that Peral has made the glass of the HUD a little darker. Almost like giving the plane a pair of sunglasses. This makes the green lines, numbers and signs on the HUD a lot more visible during the day. On the Superhornet I sometimes have trouble reading the HUD when it points into a bright sky, or bright patch of ground, in the A-10 this problem is almost completely eliminated. Would it be veasible to also add this feature to the Super Hornet/Black Wasp? That would be pretty neat to have in my opinion. Either way, good luck with the Black Wasp and with the contest! :)

That's strange I've never encountered that problem before. Still, good you found it :)

Whom might you be referring to? John Spartan and Saul have never released and A-10 mod (as far as I know).
  11. Yeah I have TrackIR. But I believe addon makers don't have acces to all the assets regarding vehicle moddeling. In regard to the camera movement within the vehicle that is.
  12. Those are problems that are inherent to Arma. There's very little that addon makers can do to improve those things. If you want improved TrackIR movement in Arma install this: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?168314-Head-Range-Plus-Improved-TrackIR-Movement
  13. What... how, I seriously don't even... What did you do?!

Sci-Fi is literally an acronym of Science Fiction, Fiction. Fiction means not real, made up and in a lot of cases, impossible to fabricate based on fictional design. If its a prototype that means its real which makes it Science Fact, doesn't matter if it has never seen combat or maybe even never left the drawing board. If someone has made a viable design, or concept that makes it fact. The MI-48 is based on the Mi-28 Havoc, and based on a conceptual design of merging the Mi-24 hull, with the KA-50 rotor assembly and the cockpit of the Mi-28. But what was supposed to become that helicopter has become the Super Hind. But you can hardly blame someone for taking creative liberties over rejected designs in my opinion. Calling a game Sience Fiction because it takes creative liberty in on or two occasions is ridiculous. That way pretty much any game or movie could be considered science fiction. For the rest: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?132745-Is-Arma-3-authentic Either way, this F-18, besides its name, isn't fiction. This however is:

Hey Randomslap, have you also considered entering for the MakeArma contest? I think your mod could use some more publicity ;)

I don't understand that people keep saying this. There's really nothing Sci-Fi about Arma 3. All the vehicles and weapons in the game have real world counterparts, only they are named diffrently. And as for this: Again not Sci-Fi, just a cooler name BLACK WASP :p

Wow! That as a sideproject? You guys are really going all out on this one arn't you :P. Good luck! Very eager to see how this is going to turn out.
  18. Wow. Like Cororal Lib said, I wasn't actually expecting this at all. But this is VERY welcome. And very smart, you can put to use all the experience you've gained with the F-18 directly into this new project. I supported it on MakeArma.com, and as soon as I can vote I will :P.

What is AFSOC if you don't mind me asking?
  21. Hello Spartan and Saul, I know you guys have announced that you will not be continuing your work on the F-18 and SU-35 for a while, because you're working on an MakeArma entry (which I'm really curious to see btw). However I have a request I'd like to make nevertheless. I've been playing around with the new GPS-INS system and I absolutely love it, works like a charm. But what would really fill my heart with joy would be the ability to mark multiple targets and engage them with multiple Jdam's in order. If you ever decide to pick up the mod again and continue working on it, please consider implementing this Anyway, thanks for the amazing work so far and good luck with the MakeArma contest! You already have my vote ;)

Wait here's one, its thrue NVG's though so you can't really make out a lot: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=a20_1215428727

Haha okay :P. Well not exactly night but twilight: For some reason its hard to find Jdam strikes at night specifically. But Iraqi Freedom had some I guess. Its hard to make out what they were dropping exactly on Baghdad, but I can't imagine they didn't use Jdam's.

What he said, although I don't think that its too saturated. Its just that bomb explosions are very tricky to get right. Because sometimes they're tall and throw up a lot of dust and dirt. Somtimes they're flat and wide and have lots of sparks. It depends on a lot of variables. In my opinion this clip from "Figher Pilot: Red Flag" gives a good impression of what a bomb explosion is really like. When they hit flat solid ground, like in this clip, most of the time, they don't tend to cause a big fireball, and stay pretty flat initially. Then a dustcloud slowly rises. Then again if they hit soft ground, or a building or a slope, things can look very diffrent. But these 250 pounders, would look more or less the same when scaled up to 500, 1000 and 2000 pounds, only bigger :P. Buildings: Mountain: The 2000 pounders do cause a bigger fireball, but again, wider then they are tall (usually): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fc8bgf1pGk So yeah, lots of variations: I'll leave it up to you. Its your mod and you have the creative freedom to do with it what you want. And honestly, I don't feel I can make an accurate judgement from just one screenshot. I'd have to see a video. But I have faith in you :P. Good luck!
