Best windows for Arma 2: XP / Vista / Seven ?
Lonestar replied to vento's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
As far as i know and according to this test done by a french computer website: http://www.lesnumeriques.com/article-847-6375-93.html It depends on the hardware you use with ArmA 2: Low end rig High end rig Conclusion: for low end computers XP 32 runs ArmA 2 best. And for high end computers Seven does a better job. Computers used: low end: - Intel Pentium E2220 - ASUS P5Q3 Deluxe - 2 Go DDR3 Corsair CM3X-1333C9DHX - ATI Radeon HD 4770 (vey) high end: -Intel Core i7 975 XE - Intel DX58SO - 6 Go DDR3 Corsair TR3X-1600C8 Dominator - PNY GeForce GTX 295 -

Hi all, Why the server brower window is not wider in the game? The server names are not even displayed properly. I tried to change the interface size but no result. Thanks

Why the server browser window is so narrow?
Lonestar replied to Lonestar's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
Bugs reported to CIT: Server browser window is too narrow, server and mission names are not displayed properly Mission selection screen is not wide enough, mission names cant' be read Go vote for it! -
What do you mean by "universal server naming"? I'm not sure i get the idea. I think each community managed server related to a region of the world should keep its identity. For example i administrate a free of charge server ( see signature) for the french-speaking community and english is tolerated in the in game chat but on TeamSpeak only French is allowed otherwise it is not possible to understand each other providing not everybody speaks english. KELLO and Streetsin from ARMACOM did you contact them? http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?p=1504045#post1504045

Very good initiative It looks similar to this project: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=90019&highlight=armacom But without sponsorship, only the willingness of one person who lends a server. Whisper does the same thing with his pvp oriented: PingZero and the server you see in my sig is free for all.

Oh please :o: Like the OP, if you want to support BI even more i suggest you: create content (mission, addon...) report bugs to CIT (http://dev-heaven.net/projects/show/cis) or any other dev-heaven project join the community of your country (or any other) and make news about the global community work or whatever can help

No more disc in the player ;) Thank you BIS, now i can play ArmA 2 on a different computer without having to unload/load the disc.

I eventually found what the problem is. It is even worse than i thought. The problem is client side and the server key is not involved. All the players who installed the armaholic archive can't play with this addon because they didn't update the bisign files of their installation. That's why there is another file to download under the required addons section. This is really misleading for the newcomer or the casual player. The armaholic archive should definitely be repacked. In the meantime download this VopSound 2.1 Repack from armed-assault.de A lot of players are kicked only because they overlooked the download page and thought the original archive was enough. It is a pity, the addon system is already difficult enough.

The update is good news :bounce3: Now as already mentionned, we need a mission or an addon to play with. I made a mission request thread and Bushlurker did an addon request on this forum. I think we will get an answer, after all Christmas time is when miracles happen :xmas_o::xmas_o::xmas_o::xmas_o:

Nah :nono: Speedshare and Filedropper links are broken. With Whisper we've been trying to make VopSound 2.1 work on our server for days. Which one is the good .bikey file? We tried the one from your site (armed-assault.de), the bikey included in the armaholic pack and another one but no result :cryy: Players are still kicked off server. Please help, we put the file in the good place the problem is somewhere else.

What Happened to 'The Longest Day' ?
Lonestar replied to Caleb_141's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
I agree with you but the OP was wondering why. Now he knows ;) -
Both posted on Arma-fr.net Now we need a mission that uses them: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=91174 I want to organize a special christmas event on the server of our community, would you know someone willing to create a mission? Even low quality i don't care. Just to have some fun:yay:

What Happened to 'The Longest Day' ?
Lonestar replied to Caleb_141's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
Simply because the carrier domination version also starts from a LHD and allows the players to choose whatever weapon or ammo he wants. The ammo crates in the Longest Day don't contain as many weapons as in Domination. -
Same here, when i drive vehicles sometimes it goes one one side whereas i'm going forward.

Awesome :) Thanks for the Christmas gift

The server key doesn't work. Players with VopSound_2.1 installed are kicked off server. What's going on?

Why are public games in ArmA II so terrible?
Lonestar replied to Chunk3ym4n's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
Same thing if you don't allow custom faces/sounds, a lot of players will be kicked and will never put the time to deactivate their custom face. It's a pity but some faces/sounds are ugly and kill realism. We run a public server for the french-speaking community (thanks to Whisper for the server) and as an admin I had to choose between having people join our server and realism. I chose realism ;) -
What's wrong? Let me tell you what's wrong: if someone uses the search function and is looking for the answer to this question he's gonna have to read a dozen posts of bullshit before he gets it. Don't call me a prick, i showed a little exasperation but I've always been polite so far. No kind regards

New version: A2 1.20 AFAIK the release has not been announced officially. I guess it is the actual version and not another test.
-
The download links in the first post are broken :http://forums.bistudio.com/showpost.php?p=1302036&postcount=1 1. http://www.speedshare.org/download.php?id=26975AFF11 2. http://www.filedropper.com/vopsound21signed Plus the server key file is not the good one. Please fix it. Thanks
-
So you keep on posting off topic answers... I'm sure you didn't even bother to read my last post. Fair enough
-
I don't think you've understood what this thread is about  I am not asking the military guies of this forum to show what is done on the battlefield. I am asking why not all the faces are shown under the player profile menu in the game. Right now we need to manually edit the the file "playername.ArmA2Profile" to get extra faces. I'm not talking about addons or custom faces here but original faces put in the game by the developpers. Compare these 757 faces: http://www.armatechsquad.com/ArmA2Class/Faces/#document with the about 60 faces available in the profile menu.
-
So you think BIS didn't make the camo faces available from the beginning for realism concerns? In this case they should have never been put in the game no ? I'm just curious that's all.

Why the server browser window is so narrow?
Lonestar replied to Lonestar's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
I already reported some bugs. I'll report that one too. I'll make two reports : one for the server browser width and one for the mission choice menu. But is it possible to have an answer from BIS team? Didn't you guies think we were going to use missions with long names? The mind boggles :omg:
